What do y'all expect from Atletico this season?
They have brought in Lemar, Rodri, Gelson Martins and Santiago Arias.

First XI:
Oblak
Arias - Godin - Gimenez - Filipe Luis
Koke - Saul - Partey
Griezmann - Costa - Lemar

Bench: Vitolo, Savic, Lucas, Juanfran, Correa, Rodri, Vietto, Martins, Gameiro

Arias/juanfran - giminez/savic - godin - Filipe Luis/Lucas
Correa/Saul/vitolo - rodri - koke/Thomas - lemar/vitolo
Griezmann/gelson Martins - Costa/Kalinic

Gameiro is probably leaving. Vietto might as well if they get any offer. Rodri is imo a nailed on starter. Correa might start games against smaller opponents, but I expect simeone to park the bus with Saul/Thomas as RM in big games. Lucas and savic are within a shout of starting ahead of Filipe Luis/giminez.

edit: Kalinic just joined them. That means imo, that Gameiro is gone and that Vietto is irrelevant.

I think they will be there or thereabout in the final reckoning of La Liga and Champions League. I think they will win one and be very close in the other.

I think once the season shapes up this will be their most consistent XI

Oblak

Arias Godin Giminez Lucas

Saul Koke Rodri Lemar

Griezmann Costa

Not bad especially when you can call on Gelson, Vitolo, Thomas, Filipe. Great balance of talent, hard work, experience, youth, tactical brilliance and individual excellence. What a squad they've put together and no longer losing players, Simeone staying, new stadium. It's one of the most happening and stable clubs in Europe.

We need a striker and Hazard if we want to stand a chance next season in Liga and in Champions League, you can't replace Ronaldo with kids like Vinicius or Mayoral.
Bring Lewandowski/Icardi and Hazard Perez or feck off.

Sevilla won 1:0 against Vilnius in their EL qualifier. I just watched the first half. Some positives, but also many questionmarks. At times the defence made big mistakes, but the understanding between the CMs and the wingbacks looked good.
Sergio Rico joins Fulham on a loan and Aleix Vidal is a Sevilla player again. Additionally Andre Silva comes on a loan (+the clubs has a 38m clause...)

The squad looks like that now:
TW: Vaclik + Soriano (maybe Kiko Casilla as competition for Vaclik?)
CBs: Mercado, Kjaer, Carrico, Gnagnon, Gomez, Berrocal (Pareja)
LV: Escudero, Arana
RV: Navas, Vidal (Corchia)
CMs: N'Zonzi, Banega, Amadou, Mesa, Vazquez (Ganso)
OM: Sarabia, Pejino, Nolito, Muriel + hopefully another transfer.
CF: Silva, Ben Yedder

I don't really know Andre Silva, but I have never seen him play well ever, while Ben Yedder is not really a good fit for the system. Thats quite disappointing; hopefully Andre Silva is somehow surprising me. Otherwise thats a huge problem. Sarabia is the only offensive player, that I have some convidence in. Nolito looks motivated but he is past it. Pejino is still very young......currently Muriel looks like the last hope and thats scary. I really hope, that the management is still looking for another attacker. Additionally there is no alternative to Banega at all again. I don't really get it. We'll have to wait and see what happens in the central defence; many options but I am not sure any of them is a top quality player. They are also all right-footer. Not a big deal in a back4, but somewhat suboptimal when you play with three CBs.
The positives are: Vaclik looks good. NZonzi + Banega might stay. Amadou could be very useful. We have great wingbacks and they are crucial in the 343 system. Still without another proper OM, top4 is not in the cards.

Super cup will be interesting tomorrow, wondering if Barcelona will decline a lot this season. Without Iniesta, Suarez and Messi getting old.

Anyone know a good place to watch it in central Manchester?

think I'll watch it now that Arthur is starting. I'm surprised with Rafinha being in first 11 as well, I thought Barca gave up on him.

If Barcelona are going to keep playing this slow possession style of football what’s the point of having bought Dembele or Vidal who aren’t suited to it?

Playing this way with a midfield three of Busquets, Rakitic and Vidal is going to be weird

In what way?
Well in the way that it looks like a cheap build and in the way that it has a giant 400m athletics course around the field that literally doesn't provide any ambiente at all for the venue.

I expected the Sanchez Pizjuan which is pretty atmospheric on it's day with Sevilla's loco fellas fans...

Stadiums with running tracks around the pitch are the devil's things.

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
The big trophy of the day has already been won, Leganes beat Rayo 2-0 and won the Pepino de Oro, here shown alongside the runners-up trophy the Pepino de Plato.

For anyone uncertain what that trophy is - a pepino is a Spanish cucumber, usually short and with a bumpy surface.

Leganes are the pepineros.
