I saw it on Friday and loved it. It had its funny moments, tense moments, and an overall good story made more bizarre by being based on true events. The end of the movie really got to me, though, as well as the whole theater considering how silent everyone was during those scenes. Made me feel really shameful of being an American, and I sort of wanted throw a hammer to the face of the next white nationalist I saw.

Overall a good movie. But,(not really a spoiler alert) I hated that Spike Lee ended it with scenes from Charlottesville. By ending it like that he shows zero faith in the intelligence of his audience. Really most people would have drawn parallels between the movie and current events without Spike Lee dropping that anvil.

Overall though Blackkklansman is Spike's best work since Inside Man. And it is surprising how much of the movie actually happened.

I'll watch this. I really like the main actor....and i had absolutely no idea he is Denzel Washington's son!

He was really funny in that show. I miss it, any news about a new season ?
New season started yesterday apparently. I've watched the others on flights, always seems to be loaded on airlines for some reason.

Wait what the feck. Ricky Jerret is Denzel's son? Denzel Washington, the best actor ever. He's so darn cool, he's so darn clever.

Only seen the poster for this in the tube stations but it looked interesting. Will have to give it a watch sometime.

Just back from seeing this and I thought it was outstanding.

I read in the movie review thread that some had thought it lacked enough focus on the message, gave the police an easy ride or was too light hearted but I thought that was what made it so clever.

In a time where any idiot can point at something being preachy or sanctimonious as a mechanism to deflect from the actual message at hand, this movie remained approachable and very, very watchable while more than making its mark.

The real footage used in the last couple of minutes was stunning, particularly after lulling the audience into what seemed like a light hearted ending. The cinema I was in sat there in collective silence, nobody moving for at least 30 seconds after the credits had begun to roll.
