Think he is going to be immense for us. Gives loads more composure to our backline than the previous flappers.

Still can't get over how good he is on the ball. Never seen a goalkeeper I wished saw more of the ball than he does. Should be used as a libero with his passing ability.

I don't understand why your club put up with Mignolet all these years.

He’s good but seems to have gotten overrated rather quickly

Both Ederson and Allisson were Futsal players. You can tell it helped with their ability on the ball With those two and Kepa their is a new generation of ball playing keepers in the PL.

PS His first name is spelled with two Ss

He looks better than Ederson. I can see why he starts over him for Brazil. He looks like he can do the goalkeeping fundamentals as well as the passing.

Yes, has similar distribution, but is taller/stronger and more fundamentally sound keeping wise.

Kepa looked much worse though, and he was more expensive. Wonder why his fee wasn't as highlighted as Alissons.

PS: Can any admin remove my "Wexford" in Supports? have no idea how I clicked on that by accident.

Probably the perfect summer signing for you guys. Signed arguably the best keeper realistically available and replaced the one that cost you the Champions League final.

Because everyone knows when dealing with Bilbao that you have to pay the full release clause or you will not sign the player.

He's a perfect keeper for Liverpool and he's young as well. Finally a proper replacement for Pepe Reina.

We should make a thread for every Livepool player in the Football Forum while we're at it. Rename it to the Liverpool player's performances forum instead. Who's next?

I watch lots of Italian Serie A and he's a good goalie but i've also seen him do stupid mistakes.

Better than Ederson with the ball?! Take a look at Aguero’s first goal on Sunday please

looks a class above ederson on the ball, tbh.
Ederson's pass for Aguero's goal was insane, though I remember he made a few mistakes in passing from the back against Arsenal. Becker has looked impressive but I will have to see more of him to judge. Maybe someone who watches both Serie A and EPL can judge better.

Thought he was a bit too calm with the ball at his feet sometimes but I guess a few years of Mignolet and Karius have made me suspicious of that.

His distribution was good but I've yet to seen him kcik a ball like Ederson on Sunday to Aguero, that was absolutely gorgeous.

Congrats to Liverpool on owning the (newly crowned) best GK in the world, best CB and best CM, all bargains.

I still think he looked a tad nervy when it was stuck on him, obviously so much better than Liverpool have seen in a while - so I understand the overrating. I shall wait until a bigger game before making my judgement whether he's the real deal, but it does look promising for Liverpool.

Because it won't generate as many headlines as when it's a United or Liverpool player.
See sky sports trying to pedal the controversial game narrative yesterday.

I think that like Shay Given he has the ability of making ordinary saves look much better than they are. Saying that, he is clearly a good keeper, would say at the moment he is third best in the league (after De Gea and Lloris), probably even the second best.

Nah. Ederson's long range passing is the best I have ever seen from a keeper, and I don't think it is that close. Becker has awesome passing though, to be fair.

And to keep it absolutely tidy, his first name has only one 'l'. ;) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muphry%27s_law

He is better with the ball at his feet than Ederson, meaning ball control and dribbling and sending the pressing striker the wrong way etc. Long range passing Ederson is the best in the world.

I'd agree with that. Ederson's long passing is simply absurd but he's not as good with his close control and short passing.

He did some fantastic long range passes. Tidy saves too and two clean sheets in his first two games. Can't ask for much more. Now can you understand why I rated him highly @B20?

Absolutely.

Took almost 10 years, but it looks like we might finally have our Alonso replacement.
