Give him whatever the feck he wants. If need be, dip into Woodward's and Mourinho's salary.

Then pay him more. He deserves it and we don't have a choice. De Gea comprises of 50-60% of our defense.

oh well, we are embarrassing. What the feck are we doing the last few months, we seem to reach new lows again and again. I thought we were improving and on the up since Jose started, but it seems we have fallen back to the dark dark times.

The club sure it's starting to piss me off at the moment. We could do with less of these headlines and more just getting business done behind the scenes, especially with the likes of De Gea who has been with us for many years and a fantastic servant to the club.

Make him your highest paid player at the club, he's your best and most consistent performer. A joke that Sanchez earns more than him, De Gea will always win you more points, outstanding keeper

This club is a joke at the minute, he's the only one that deserves to be highest earner. Best keeper in the world and stuck with us through a turbulent time. Hope Dave and Mendez rinse United, penny pinching Glazers been saving on other contracts long enough.

Well, IF there is any truth in it
Duncan says de Gea is after a similar deal to Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez after proving the club's most valuable player over the past five seasons.
than De Gea surely deserves to get at least the same wages as Pogba and Alexis.

Not exactly the club's fault the media write whatever they want, whether its true or not.

Some reports a few weeks ago said the deal was already done and dusted, now it's seems its far from done.

Somebody is lying.

He’s our most valuable player, make him our highest earner.

Agreed, and I'm highly critical of the media, however in this instance, and with Castles, there's clearly something rumbling on behind closed doors. I mean the contract was meant to get done a while ago remember?

The positive is I'm sure DDG wants to stay. Just don't mess the lad about.

Been our only consistent world class player post-SAF. Just offer him a blank cheque.

Seems with the way things are at the moment, the media can write anything at all, true or not, and it'll be believed.
We're going through a tough time, and the media are most definitely capitalising on it.

I thought it was done to be honest. Now they say it isn't. Tomorrow they say its done again. They can't make up their mind.

This is what happens when we pay cnuts who are undeserving of their pay packet more than anyone else would, the guys who actually deserve it demand more.

This is the reason why I'm fuming that Mourinho decided to engage the press in negativity in the preseason.

One fecking year of this shit to put up with.

He may be a goalkeeper but he should be the highest earner, as he's our best player. I'd be annoyed that Pogba and Sanchez earn more too while he quietly goes about being world class week in week out without any drama.

After giving in to that twat fellaini if we don't bend over backwards to offer De Gea the contract he wants i'll be disgusted with the club.

We will come to an agreement I am sure, these things happen during contract negotiations. Though, if he wants the same wage as Sancez or Pogba, then he won't get that here or anywhere else. Attacking players usually get more wages than defensive ones. He will probably be the best paid keeper by a mile, but I can't see the club giving him the same wages as Sanchez, which are ridiculously high.

I think it's hard to argue that he isn't our best player, so, for once I can understand a refusal of what is likely a mammoth deal. He is absolutely correct in that he should be the highest paid player at the club, as PSG, Juventus, or maybe Barcelona would probably pay him more to go there and he'd have a better chance at European glory and domestic success at the moment. I do think we're a bit lucky though that Real Madrid looked elsewhere, Bayern have Neuer, Barcelona have a keeper that suits them and while there's the likelihood of more trophies, I'm not convinced PSG or Juventus are that much of an upgrade on us? He will obviously sign a deal when the offer is improved.

90% of business deals are not agreed upon with the first offer. It's always low-balled to see what they can get away with, at least to some degree. This is just obviously major news and blown out of proportion because it's Manchester United. Nothing new here, deal signed next month.

 Madrid signing Courtois was the only good news this summer, and we’ve managed to feck that up as well

Took 22 posts for someone to lay the blame for this at Mourinho's door.

Getting better.

Is Castles reliable? Didn't he say we agreed personal terms with Alex Sandro?

Should be our best paid player. Only world class player in the squad who actually turns it on for club and not just country.

Where is he going to go? Offer him the same wages he is on now with an extension.
I don't think you can do that, especially with you lot and Liverpool breaking the world record fees on goalies.

Besides, DDG actually does deserve a rise as his loyalty and performance justifies it for me.

It’s nit embarrassing as all - it’s oerfectly normal, it’s negotiation.

Too many fans are a joke to be honest. Jumping on everything and making it into such a drama. Get over yourself - you hope he and Mendez ‘rinse’ the club - that’s pathetic, grow up.

For feck sake. More dicking about from the club. Are we low on money at the moment or something?
No - it’s called negotiation. He’s got effectively 2 years left on his contract, just calm down.

More problems for Mr.Ed to handle.
No - this is perfectly normal, won’t bother the club one bit. It will get done.

Seems with the way things are at the moment, the media can write anything at all, true or not, and it'll be believed.

Correct - but that’s the way it’s always been, media is full of BS - some of it’s true, some is not. Unfortunately far too many fans believe anything that’s written or printed, and then escalate it to a crisis in their heads.
