Couldn't find a thread on this already but there is a new "spiritual successor" to Theme Hospital coming out on Thursday 30th August. It has been created by the same former Bullfrog Devs behind Theme Hospital. Not a single microtransaction in sight either!

Official Website:
https://www.twopointhospital.com/

Gameplay Video:

I (and many others I am sure!) was a HUGE fan of the original Theme Hospital so I am really looking forward to this.

Available quite cheap as well, I managed to pick up mine for £19.89 from Fanatical games.

Not to nick pick - but it’s only some of the original devs - not all - your OP makes it sound like it’s the exact same team.

But yep looking forward to it - pre ordered on steam to get that sexy discount. Got high hopes for this - the team have great pedigree - especially the founders

I think it is good how they are not charging the "going rate" for the game as well. It's a good gesture by the developers. I am very excited to play on Thursday.

I’m still hoping there would be a Startopia sequel or even spiritual successor one day. That was also made by a now defunct studio made up of Bullfrog devs. That game kinda feels like a love note or tribute to Bullfrog games. Theres missions where you run an alien medical ship like Theme Hospital, a prison rehab ship like Dungeon Keeper, an entertainment ship like Theme Park and a religious/ecosystem ship where you can terraform and manipulate the biodeck into however you want and establish a religious following like in Populous.

A very underrated game that’s lost in time. I think it’s on GoG.

Was a fantastic game I think I have it on Steam. The Devs behind Two Point are hinting at more Bullfrog-type games in the future. Fingers crossed they will remake Dungeon Keeper and Populous.

Is that the malware thing? I read some reviews on metacritic saying something along the lines of malware.

Will this run on an Intel 620 HD graphics card? The only PC I have at home is my Mrs' laptop. Otherwise I'll be desperate for a console port.

It's a pretty intensive DRM, so yeah, depending on who you ask, it can be considered malware.

The minimum requirements on the Steam page ask for a HD 630 & an i3 6100, so proooobably if you turned the resolution down & accepted lower framerates.

Why the feck are games still persisting with Denuvo? It's crackable now and it's a strain on the PC.

Had a few hours on it this morning before work. Runs smooth as can be on the highest settings (@ 1080p) for me personally. Denuvo hasn't impacted my experience in any way.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, the difficulty quickly ramps up once the first few areas have been completed.

To keep shareholders happy that they're stopping the dirty pirates... Who are legally buying their product.

Same with copy protection on CDs. If I go out & buy your album, I want to be able to listen to it on my portable music players/phone... But nope, doesn't always work. It's embarrassing when pirates get a better experience than the legitimate consumers, but alas, they don't care.

Well that was money well spent by them. Denuvo costs a lot apparently.

Denuvo added a few hours before launch, game cracked a few hours after launch.

I'm liking the game so far.

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
If there's anyone not to pirate, it's these guys. We're not talking EA, here (not that I pirate EA games either these days, no reason for people over 23 to pirate games).

I've been very excited about this game for a while, I absolutely loved Theme Hospital.

It's got great reviews - seems a bit pricey though when I want to buy some games on my Switch too. Not sure whether to bite - or wait for a sale. Looks really fun though.

What's everybody's Steam names? None of my friends are cool enough to appreciate this game and the in-game competitive features are great.

Always wondered about this genre on the switch.

Sims on the PS4 (free download with PS Plus) was terrible - the amount of selections just doesn't work well on a console - but i could see a touch screen working well?

I'm quite sure it still works much better with a mouse since it's more accurate, but the 2 sticks work more than well enough.
