He probably does what i do, stash half the christmas presents in a bag somewhere and forget all about it until the late-summer cleaning-routine. He probably felt bad about whoever gave him those boxers and didn't think much else of it than to get em into circulation.

He went on a bit of a drought in December/January. Scored on December 13th, then didn't score again until January 15th. Was probably wearing his xmas pressie on the 15th and - footballers being insanely superstitious - has washed them specially for every match since.
