Same as the thread regarding players...

Alan Curbishley
Was one of the top prem managers in mid 00s, has been out of work for ten years now. Popped into my head for some reason...

He got £2 million quid from West Ham when they sacked him. I'd sit on a beach for 10 years if my job fired me tomorrow and gave me a couple of mil!

Juande Ramos: famous for giving Spurs their worst start in their history - 2 points from the opening 8 PL matches.

Last seen: Managing Malaga in 2016, not managed since.

Brendan Rodgers.

Setting the standard in a one team league doesn’t count.

He hasn't been out of work for 10 years. He hasn't managed a club but he has both served as a technical director and first team coach at Fulham.

He's a bit picky as he's not wanted to take on Championship jobs or relegation fodder in the PL but it's true that he's been somewhat forgotten until recently after leaving Fulham. Could well do a job.

You only really get to see the full potential of a manager when he gets into position of proper power, i.e. money. Big Sam was right in that regard that he never really got the opportunity. After having said that however he messed up the England job and had money at Everton to do something but he failed.

André Villas-Boas is only 40 and should be able to get a top job sometime soon. A year ago he left the money in China.

Having gone to Wycombe's game at Charlton yesterday, Curbishley was the first name I thought of reading the title!

John Gregory. Just wikied him, seems he’s been a bit of a journeyman since leaving England. Still working, currently in China.

Edit: India !

That weird looking bloke who managed loads of different African countries. Well I've forgotten his name anyway if I ever knew it.

David O’Leary is another that used to be around the EPL but is long gone now.

Villas Boas. The next Mourinho, apparently, currently without a job after seeing out his contract with Shanghai SIPG

Former caretaker England manager Peter Taylor (until I visited the Guardian website earlier).

I think it was a brain tumour, or something to that effect. I could be wrong, mind.

O’ Leary is a good shout, too. I used to despise him when I was a child!

What about Paul Le Guen? Was considered quite the coup for Rangers when they snagged him, if I remember correctly!
