Trailer looks decent tbh. I love they revert to the original G1 design and color scheme. Makes it much easier to know which one is which character

Can’t wait for this  No matter what anyone says, I will forever gladly spend my money to watch transformers movies. I can never get enough of giant robots fighting

Is it that hard to make a Transformers film without useless humans running around?

Go big or go home Give me 2 hours of robots straight up brutalising each other, none of this protecting Earth bs.

spot on. I like the movies but always found it hard to tell who was who when they were robots. Going back to the original design and colour scheme was a very good move! Will be watching it for sure

Why they haven’t made a live action of that Transformers movie from the 80s I have no idea. Who wouldn’t want to see that? Screw this whole thing of using realistic cars, I want hot rod looking like Hotrod, and that other guy who isn’t the chosen one looking like that as well.

That scene, you know the one still brings a tear to my eye, imagine that live action, it would be incredible. Unicorn doing Unicron things, That bit with Hotrod and that other geezer eating tic tacs and smashing some water dwelling like creatures by wall riding at speed.

This movie tho kinda lost hope with the recent transformer franchises but inevitably end up buckiling and going to see it.

Question, so this one is a totally brand new story without connection to Shia's Transformers? Or is this continuation again?

It's set in the 80's so it's a prequel
I'm sure it'll explain why Bumblebee can't speak in the Michael Bay movies though

Is Bay directing this? I don't have a clue
Surely fecking not.....

One of the things I found stupid though is where they have a robot which turns into a white/red jet but it’s not Starscream. It’s Blitzwing who is a purple triple changer who transforms into a jet and a tank if I’m not mistaken. This when it seems they already got Soundwave, Shockwave, Ravage, Bumblebee and Optimus already right.

Saw this which is Soundwave and at least he is “historically accurate”

They need to do more of this and not the rubbish advertising for Chevy.

Nope. Hopefully this does well and Bay is quietly pushed aside and this ends up being a reboot with Transformers that actually look like Transformers.

She is looking like she is a transformer herself in 2018.
christ - why do they all go down this route. There was no need.

The trailer looks promising - hopefully a decent Transformer movie at last - it just needed Bay pushing aside..

Easily the best transformers movie (I know thats not saying much). But it was fun. Still had the big robot action but humans werent annoying (major plus).

Bumblee himself was great. The main actress was decent too. Cena was fun when you could see him.

Also I feel like they added the 'bully' girl in there but then didnt wrap up that story? hmm. Dunno. Unless that continues in a sequel (but I dont see how?)

Along with the Fast and Furious movies tge transformers have to be the dumbest films ever made .

I have to wonder at the intelligence of people who pay to watch this stuff as far as I'm concerned they are utter rubbish and boring at that .

I may be the devil, but i'm not a monster
If I remember correctly, the reason for Optimus Prime not being a cab over (read flat faced truck) was because each robot is actually built to dimensions for CGI purposes and if he was built as a cabover, he would be considerably shorter than megatron in the films.

Kids love it, also the nostalgia angle for us 30+ year olds who were obsessed with transformers when we were kids. Bonus points for us 30+ year olds who can now also take their kids to watch these films. It rakes in the cash, and so they keep making them.

I loved the first one, mostly for that one scene where that helicopter lands at the US military base and just lays waste to everyone and everything, that was awesome. Give me more of that, I could watch that one scene again and again, I could forgive the nonsense because of that.

The rest were tosh, the moment I saw that super advanced alien robot war machine need a walking stick to move about... I gave up on it, they can feck right off with all that.

The best film however will always be the 1986 one.

"Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost" quote which leads directly into the You've Got the Touch song and Prime's fight with Megatron.

How can you top that?

Prime's death had me in tears as a kid.

Agree 100%, though The Fast and the Furious films are much more likeable than the sewage that is the Transformers series.

Though the fact that Michael Bay isn't directing this one might make it different.

94% on Rotten Tomatoes after 93 reviews. The consensus looks to be this is a top film that's remained under the radar. I'll be going to see it.
From what I've read the Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB rating systems have been compromised. All these movies will have top ratings early on.

This one is actually a good movie, much much better than the previous 5 Bay's movies. I'm actually looking forward to the sequel if there's gonna be any.

Wait, this isn't directed by Michael Bay? So it might actually be good?

Never really liked transformers though. Big whoop you can turn into a car, how is that even cool.

its good. Im still not sure if its because of comparison or if I would be saying that if it was the first one I ever saw. I enjoyed it though

Bay is producing but it's directed by the guy who was the lead animator for Laika (the animation company who made films like Coraline, ParaNorman and The Boxtrolls) and who directed Kubo and the Two Strings. So a change of tone wouldn't be surprising.

Saw it this afternoon. Best Transformers movie by a mile. Coherent story, likeable human characters and the G1 designs is .
That 5 minutes opening is the best depictions of Transformers I've ever seen. Shows how stupid Bay and the previous movies that they cannot design a recognizable transformers aside from Prime and Bumblebee.

Just watched this. Really liked it although I felt there could have been more battle scenes among different transformers. At least the fights didn’t look like a metal cgi cluster feck like from the previous films.

Under a tree.
Prequel or reboot? Don't think Paramount even know, either way I enjoyed it..
Crazy thing is, is this is doing poor at the boxoffice in comparison to the bay films.
Such a shame the franchise has a massive sh!t stain on it from Bay, was so excited when the first Transformers film was announced, shortly after he managed to ruin one of my childhood joys. Prick

If paramount go with a prequel, however, and we then see a total reboot I would like to see it actually set on Cybertron, with the transformers as the focus not humans...

They could use this as both a prequel reboot
Everything about this was fantastic In comparison to the previous movies

Best thing was you could see who was good and who was bad in the metal fest of a fight

Think there are legs for more movies In the vein of this one

Very good movie especially when half of it isn't shot like a shampoo commercial with poor acting like the other Michael Bay movies.
