Clearly lost the dressing room, never understand how/why players dont give their all when playing football - regardless of who the manager is.

Unfortunately, the players have made their feelings known and results will only improve when he's gone.
Did you watch the penalties? Everyone was trying hard to score and even celebrated like it's the CL after each penalty. You didn't see a single half arsed attempt between our players.

Can anyone please tell me this:
If every bad result is players fault then why our club is paying the manager 15 millions + every year. So if the manager is never responsible for on pitch performance then why hire one?
Basically 90% on here are saying it's the managers fault.

In fairness they are centre backs
There’s enough to beat Mourinho with other than that comment - so it’s a bit nonsensical to mention it. If you listen to Mourinho regularly then you know he often phrases himself that way: «We were in trouble because X».

I think Mourinho has done a good job up to this season so I haven't been in the MouOut camp until last night. I still think he is a good manager. Also, even though I think Pogba should be more careful, both in media and in possession, it is becoming clear that his relationship with Mourinho will continue to be an issue in the media for a very long time to come, no matter what the reality is. It is also evident that the media has an issue with Mourinho and this seems to add to the negative performances on the pitch.

After last night it became clear to me that Mourinho will not be able to turn this around. Regardless of who is to blame, things have gone too far and I feel the only way to solve this is to let him go. As for replacements, I have no strong ideas and it is not the purpose of this post to speculate. Suffice it to say that I am confident that Carrick can steer the ship until someone else can come in. But I really feel we need to end this now.

Yes I watched the penalties, did you watch the previous 90 minutes? If so, you’ll hopefully understand my point.

Watching that goal of Eden hazard vs liverpool made me wonder even Sanchez can play there like in the past and Mourinho never plays him there. Just baffled by his use of Lingard in that position even when he does absolutely nothing apart from defending.

I remember one move where he was on the right vs city and he provided the cross for Pogba goal.

Such a shame we have all the resources in the world that this is what we are producing out of mediocrity.

People talk about players all the time, but how do you deal with a manager who thinks he's bigger than the club?

For every game I lose a little more interest in United - I am actually more looking forward to watching the U18s play than I do the first-team. And I don't even get angry or sad when we lose anymore - it has reached the point where I can't really be bothered. Which will be good on saturday, because we will lose to this West Ham-side.

Wrong way to look at things. The question is why it happened in the first place.

LVG loses the dressing room, with players ignoring his tactics. He had to resort to email trackers to sniff out those that were ignoring him. Mourinho has Chelsea fighting relegation and gets sacked. We sack LVG soon after winning the FA cup and hire Mourinho and get him the players he wants without fuss.

We come from a position of weakness with both players and managers. We give the manager the keys to the house, instead of telling him to follow the long term vision of the club. We buy players that are square pegs in round holes because they are bought for one manager and inherited by another.

We succeeded under SAF because we had continuity, a process to the football that was well known and passed down. Instead of setting up our own continuity with a football person responsible for the direction of the club we got in an investment banker. It's not a surprise that we can beat Real Madrid in profits but not the pitch, that's what our head of operations is good at.

Didn't seem to matter when Conte won the league in his first season, doesn't seem to matter for Sarri who already has Chelsea playing to his tune after weeks, hell even Unai Emery, and these are just recent examples. I don't understand why it's only managers we hire that are completely incapable of inheriting players and need an entirely new squad.

He's seriously the most unlikable manager in world football from a personality standpoint. On top of that he plays awful football. Here's hoping he gets sacked soon, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Literally just having him gone and having Carrick/Mckenna as interim managers would be huge boosts for us, just from pure relief. But I doubt it. Woodward will sit tight on the money until we are guaranteed out of CL and he can use the clause (assuming Mourinho has it like LvG and Moyes did).

Pay him off and get rid of him now. At the same time get rid of Pogba too.

I was initially skeptic to sacking him this early, but the way he's going about in public makes it difficult to like having him around

Haven't even reached October yet.

Title gone. Very unlikely to get top four. Beaten by Brighton (dross), Spurs at home and now West Ham (pretty poor side).

A complete and utter failure. And an ugly cnut of a man inside and out.

Should have just kept Van Gaal.

I hope he does. Imagine if he does not and we are obliged to pay him in case we decide to terminate his contract.

All in all he cant feck off soon enough.

It seems a madness approach though. Not only costing us this season but possibly next. This can't go on for another 7 months.

It is madness. Our board don't deal with logic and dont act in a proactive way. The only thing they are mildly arsed about is top 4, so they'll persist with Jose until that's gone (as they dont want to have to pay him off unless its completely necessary).

If the board waits till the end of the season, then its for certain Pogba, Martial, Pereira will leave. De Gea may not sign an extension. Who knows what will happen with Shaw, Herrera and others who have just a year remaining. The new guy may have to start off with a paper thin squad which is not a great way to begin the reign.

Missed the whole match, though just saw the third goal and was completely shocked, means just don't press for entire match, park the bus for 90 mins as soon as we loose the ball and play long balls to lukaku from the back. Was it all in our tactics or it was just like tottenham match where we attacked and caught napping?

When you lineup with Fellaini, Matic and McTominay, and the only wide threat has to come from the two full backs, you're really making a statement.

While the first goal was borderline offside, and the second was pure bad luck, if you set up like that you ask for trouble.

I think most fans have come round to it needing a change immediately.
It's not even the losses, it's just the sheer lack of any "Big picture" style of play.

Even when Klopp was losing goals and games, you could see there was a big idea brewing, and they could always score goals.

I really fear us playing anyone decent right now.
That Chelsea away game in a few weeks will be a dreadful watch, as our only chance is a real bus parking job.

Under Mourinho we haven't been a high block-possession team, the midfield issues are due to the midfield organization and composition and nothing else. They are poor at cutting passing angles, poor at covering each others, poor at marking, poor at reliably create space or create passing angles and they are fairly lazy too. The only thing that they have is that individually they have little limitations and can on occasion make the difference but as a unit they are just bad.
We are poor at that, because those our not our players strengths, we are a better proactive team, than being a reactive low block team and specially when there is no protection to our defense through a midfield who just's gives all the space to opposition without tacking them.

Not playing players on their strengths is pathetic poor management.

That clown Woodward who had zero understanding about football keeps hiring managers whos style just don't suit the squad on disposal. Typical mistake only English club could make. Can it happen at any other European big club?

Top down management has been shocking.

Mourinho is on man city payroll i tell you. The idea is that city get to play good football and us miserably. In that case its a double blow for us..

The man has lost it,there's no coming back.

Like LVG and Moyes before him he has no idea what his best team is after all this time. And, like those two, he's spent a ton of money on players that don't look anywhere near good enough. Will be interesting to see if he gets offered another top club job after this is over (PSG, Inter again maybe, Atletico?).

Imho, it's a bit bizarre reading some of the comments in here. I get that there's different opinions, but it's a tad weird reading just how big of a difference there is at times. I'd love it if the forum was closed for a minimum of 1 hour after matches, in order to let people calm down before rushing in with their comments, too often the forum is drowned by people venting their frustration.

First things first, we're 7 matches in and we have 10 points. City at 1st have 19 points. Points wise it's not a disaster in any way, while it's unlikely that we'll put up a real fight for 1st place, it's not like we're too far behind after 7 rounds either, the other teams will drop points...So lets not moan too much about the season being over, it's not.

When that's said, I don't think it's likely that we'll be in a position to take advantage of the other top teams dropping points.

I really wanted Mourinho to prove everyone wrong, the scenario of him breaking the habit of leaving behind chaos and destruction after 3 seasons, annoying the feck out of everyone else. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we'll get there. I didn't like it last season when he went on that rant ref Rashford and Martial, about that's why Lukaku plays when he's fit. I thought a major part of the issue was Mourinho not changing the tactics in order to actually get the most out of the two. It was the same when Lukaku was out injured at the end of the season, and we had to rely on Rashford leading the line, instead of changing the way we played we just stuck to our same routine with Rashford instead of Lukaku. For me it's a decent way of highlighting my main concern, that Mourinho is simply unable to get the best out of the players we have available. Which is somewhat weird, you'd expect such a quality manager to get the most out of a group of players. There's always going to be individuals that are more difficult than others, but a large group of players ?

I thought it was baffling when he left McTominay on as a central defender, any chances of a comeback was demolished when West Ham made It 3-1. McTominay simply didn't have the experience and we were punished. Given that we had to push forward and leave more space in behind, I thought it was a horrible decision. I don't really buy the notion that he does it on purpose to prove a point, that he wants to show Woodward that he should have brought in another defender and everything else would be fine, but the decision seemed baffling at the time and it doesn't make much sense afterwards either.

I initially said that unless something big happens, we should stick with Mourinho and let him have the rest of the season to prove that he still has it in him, that he can get the best out of a group of players that aren't nearly as bad as some make them out to be, but I have to admit I'm starting to get concerned by Mourinho's comments. His comments ref Sanchez and Martial were odd, should've kept his mouth shut. If the relationships within the group of players are going downhill, we'll have no other choice but to get rid of Mourinho and get someone else in to sort it out.

We were joint 1st with City at this stage last season with 1 less goal scored at 19. New Castle were 9th on 10 points. They finished the season at 10th.

Points wise this is a disaster for Manchester United. Football wise, Wednesday was a disaster but it was the league cup, blah blah blah. Today was a disaster. If your benchmark for the season is top 4, hate to say this but we need a lot of teams to feck up if we’re going to finish in the top 4 playing like we’ve played so far this season.

Considering the circumstances, I would be happy to see him stay if he finished in the top 4.

Like him or not, he was denied signings this summer. The club blocked the transfers of Martial and Shaw for example and when you look at it, he’s working with a bunch of players who don’t suit his style. Pep and Klopp would suffer the exact same in this position.

Imagine Liverpool said to Klopp “No, you can’t sell this player. You have to work with what you’ve got... and you just bought a keeper last season so you can’t buy another one.”

The problem lies with Woodward. He’s getting too involved in the football side of things when he hasn’t got a clue. The players are also nowhere near good enough. Not for United.

People love overhyping these players and for no reason whatsoever. Luke Shaw has a decent game and all of a sudden he’s the best LB in the country. People need to wake up. I’ve seen performances like that from the likes of Kieran Richardson. Our standards have dropped massively.
Martial is nowhere near United quality. How Jones, Young and Smalling are still regularly starting for us is a ducking mystery but who else has he got? He wanted Alderweireld, he wanted Sandro.

Mourinho wanted to fix it. He wanted to win things and the board put zero faith in him. In his first season he won a European trophy and a League Cup. In his second season, it wasn’t great but he got us into another Cup Final and achieved our highest league standing since Fergie retired. It was progress.

This season was the final stage. The time to trust in Mourinho, give him the funds and let him sort out the squad HIS way. And the board denied him that chance. I feel sorry for him in a way. He’s working with a bunch of players he doesn’t fancy and that’s why he comes across as so frustrated and judgemental in the press conferences. He can see they’re not good enough, I can see it and deep down, everyone else knows it too.

Smalling, Jones and Young all should have even shown the door. Martial and Herrera should have been sold for hefty amounts and the way Pogba has been acting, he can feck off aswell. It’s cancerous behavior. I will never support this bunch of overpaid social media obsessed primadonnas over a winner like Mourinho.

I wonder what would happen if he wins the next 2 games? Would some people come out and say give him some more time again?

I don't get how he thinks of man management skill. Talk shit about your players in public all the time then expect them to try hard for you.

And, trying to play some clever games with the fans and the boards. Such a toxic manager.

You know you are talking about the players you think he does not like.

What about the ones he himself bought? I mean if those players were performing, you would have a point.

You just have to look at a whole squad and no one is performing as they should except for the De Gae. Just because the board does not back you 100% does not mean you have to make sure the players you want to replace know that you hate their guts though. And, there is the main problem. Not many are trying hard for him now because of it.

Man management 101 and he does not get it or he does not give a feck. You can't really back that kind of manager 100% because at one point he will feck your organization and just look at his career history.

Also, both Klopp and Pep missed out on players they wanted due to being too expensive. So yes, no manager will ever get 100 % backing of the board.
