What is going on with the fixture times?

I can’t be the only one getting annoyed with some of the scheduling of Premier League games?

They keep putting absolute shite games on UK TV. Today we have the brilliant Cardiff v Burnley as the only fixture.

The last few weeks we have had two 4:00pm kicks off on a Sunday but only one is televised. Why don’t they put that on 3:00pm Saturday if it’s not shown in the UK?

United are getting shafted quite a lot with this. I’m not making an excuse for them but we had Champions League Wednesday then played Saturday 3pm. The only time that has happened this season as well, right after a midweek away game. Why couldn’t we play Sunday? Then the games shown on TV Sunday were crap.

Normally this happens when a Europa League team, who haven't had their game picked for TV and should have been playing at 3pm Saturday, have their fixture moved because they played on the Thursday.

Cl week, it gives English sides time to prepare I guess?
EL sides have their games put back to Sundays as well. Chelsea and Arsenal will have a few untelevised Sunday games this year

Seems like this season they're being very accommodating to the sides in Europe. I'm sure that in previous seasons the teams who played on Wednesday or Thursday had a game on the Sunday the weekend before but as they're now all playing on the Saturday it leaves some underwhelming (to some) games to be televised on Sundays.

This might be the worst Sunday I’ve ever seen for European football. None of the top teams are playing.

It’s a good day to do some chores

Think Sassulo-Milan will be good one but yes pretty mediocre apart from that.

Think Sky pretty much concentrated on the Ryder cup today so that's why they've only scheduled one game.

Next Sunday is a treat though...Fulham-Arsenal (12pm), Southampton-Chelaea (2.15) and Man. City- Liverpool (half 4).

I believe its because the Ryder Cup is on. Sky always seem to have the worst teams playing on the "Subpar Sunday' during that weekend. So much so they even had BT showing the 12.30 game they normally have.

It’s been like this at the start of the season for a few years I think now. They have a quota of needing to show all of the teams in the league a certain amount of times (I think?). So they’re using up some of the less popular teams at the start of the season, where the matches are less important, and you can benefit the larger sides with extra rest before European matches. Good for the league!

If you think your fixture times/days are bad, Celtic only have had 3 away games on a Saturday with 3pm ko since 2005 every other moved to either 12. 12.30 etc 3.30 at Perth today.
