With a severe shortage of ‘proper’ centre forwards coming through - I think Dembele could be next up.

He’s always had a huge reputation from since he was in the Fulham academy. I remember him playing, and I think scoring, against our youth. Did as well as possible for Celtic in the CL, and scored 2 on his debut for Lyon.

Definitely interesting to see how he gets on this year. 20+ this season and he could be on the radar for the real big boys. Wouldn’t mind if we are keeping tabs, as we need a better striker frankly.

Great talent. Had a fantastic first season at Celtic but it was downhill after that due to injuries and loss of form. His talent was still evident and I'm surprised no PL took a gamble on him.

Forced through his move to Lyon and it will be interesting to see where he goes from here, a lot of injuries in the last year or so, but a player with a lot of talent and potential.
Can be a bit like Lukaku, on his day defenders just bounce off him but on other days he looks a bit awkward and cumbersome. Still a young guy though.

Didn’t Chelsea fail to sign him for like £40m on deadline day in January?

Never heard that one tbh. I know Spurs wanted him before he moved to Celtic.
I think Spurs tried to sign him in the January window before he went to Celtic in the summer, but something held it up and it fell through at the last minute, but they didn't go back for him in the summer. I doubt the £40M bid from Chelsea actually happened, I don't think Celtic would turn down that sort of money for any of their players.

I think the only PL club properly interested was Brighton

He did not score two goals in his debut for Lyon.
He scored 2 goals in his 5th game for the club.

There's no way on earth if anyone offered 25 mil for him they'd have failed to sign him, let alone 40.

Edouard is a bigger talent than him for me, Dembele is a good striker but don't think he's top level. Edouard always looked better than him at every age group for me as well.

The rumours when we didn't sign him was he had big injury concerns and wouldn't pass a medical / get insured. I forget if it was his knees or heart but it was the reason floating around at the time (*could have been bullshit due to us not able to get him above Celtic).

Great player if he can stay fit.

I didn’t watch the game against Liverpool but how did Arkadiusz Milik get on for Napoli in midweek? He had two cruciates but before I had high hopes for him to be a top striker. Started very well when he first joined Napoli too, scoring for fun.
