Quite afew outlets in Italy have reported our interest in the 22yo Danish player in the last week and it seems he might be someone we may bring in, in the January transfer window. He plays for Sampdoria.

Looks a good passer. Anyone know what his speed/mobility is like?

I don't know anything about him, but if he's considered good enough by Mourinho then we could go big on a more experienced CB too..

Both Juve and Inter have been linked with him. He looks very impressive from the clips I've seen of him though. I believe Sampdoria bought him to eventually replace Skriniar last season and he's stepped up really well this season so far.

Good. Put Jones to pasture.
Read his last game was a disasterclass.

If we are indeed looking to buy a youngster then we should buy the best - De Ligt, yes he may not be experienced enough but he's clearly the best young CB out there

If Andersen is as good as people are making him out to be, then the reported £26m to acquire his services might be too good to turn down.

Given he's clearly out of favour and never going to play much for us, swap with Darmian?
I think we've been trying to get rid of Darmian for too long now. It would be fantastic if we managed to ship him off somewhere..

Would prefer a more experienced CB instead of potential but I know I'll regret saying this when he becomes Juve's best defender in few years.

Been a good few weeks where I forgot we still have Jones and you ruined it.

He struggled to get a move for a while despite Twente being absolutely awful. He's only started 17 games for Sampdoria, he isn't ready for a step up to an elite club imo. He should play more at that level before moving on.

If we could get him at a decent price I wouldn't mind. Certainly cannot be much worse than Jones or Rojo.

I don’t think he’s anywhere close to be ready for a club of our stature yet. However, I get why we’re looking to acquire new players before they reach they look like they’re ready to take the next step. Post Van Dijk, players like Skriniar are going to cost an absolute fortune. The only way to avoid this is by getting them earlier (or getting lucky with their contract situation).

Well, at least Andersen and Lindelöf would make the best looking CB-duo in the league.

Having a player that can pass out from the back is something we dont have... at all! We have Lindelof, Smalling Jones and Bailly as our 4 main CB players. Having someone who can pass out as well as actually being good at defending is so important for our play and to compliment our current defenders.

Watching this video of Anderson he looks the part and admittedly i dont know much about him, but i have one reservation. Can he defend with the added speed and aggression that the PL brings?. He looks so calm here in this video with all the time in the world. He wont get that in the PL. With Toby Alderweireld we know what we're getting and for £25m ish. Sampdoria will see us coming a mile off and add £20m to his actual value.

Andersen is a worse player/defender than Simon Kjær at Palermo circa 2009 at this moment in time, IMO. Needs more development to be considered as an option for the elite level and will have a lot of ups and downs (e.g. he was decent vs. Sassuolo or Napoli but shaky vs Torino a few days ago):

The likes of Juventus can afford to sign him (provided the interest is genuine) because he can stashed behind Bonucci and developed into a competent centerback over 2-3 years, but we don't have that luxury — especially considering Lindelöf/Bailly are our young, developmental centerbacks with Tuanzebe being the third. If we absolutely had to sign a young Serie A defender, I'd probably prioritize Milenković over Andersen — the former will have an easier time adapting to the Premier League and is more combative/versatile.

We could also afford to sign him if the Sampdoria Presidents quote regarding the transfer fee is anything to go by. It would still enable us to sign a more established CB and have Andersen as the up and coming CB over someone like Lindelof.

Very good reports about him, cannot be any worse than what we have. If we could get him for 30 million and could possibly get another experienced CB with him, it would be good business.

Interesting prospect, but another one to look is Cristian Romero from Genoa.

From the clips his passing looks quite good, but I think we really need someone who can defend well.

We dont need a new prospect at CB. Because that is all he is. And for his own sake he needs to be at a club where he will playing consistently the next couple of years.
Lindelöf and Bailly are both fairly young. And Tuanzabe needs to be brought in to the squad next year.
Aldeweireld or Koulibaly would fit our squad better experience- and agewise.
I am doubtful towards Skriniar for the same reason even if he is way further along than Andersen is.

If this is what we're getting, it's an absolute joke. We need a quality center-half, or nothing at all.

Getting this chap wouldn't hinder us in getting a more established CB. Not sure why some of you keep saying otherwise...

Benjamin Pavard is who we should be looking at, isn't he out of contract in the summer?

I'm sure it's funny so please fill me inn
I don't know if that is a common name in Scandinavia but if a German that age introduced himself to me as Joachim I probably couldn't contain myself laughing at the poor soul. It's an extremely old-fashioned name.

Hope, We Lose
Let Inter have him and concentrate on a known quantity like Skriniar.

The above article seems good as it points out where he isnt so good too. His team being destroyed by ex-Spurs reserve Iago Falque and an off form Belotti, conceding 4 last week at home doesn't sound appealing for our next £30 million+ CB. Watching the highlights he was mostly uninvolved in the goals, but he did lose focus on a ball in the air that he let reach Belotti on a volley where he could have secured his hatrick and on the last one the ball was turned in from an area he and other Sampdoria players were supposed to be marking/covering on a set piece.

Let Inter take a chance on him replacing their player while we get the genuine article. We don't need a CB who is still establishing themselves and may or may not make it. We already have Bailly and Lindelof. Of course we could sell them both, get this guy and the genuine article as well. But given how poorly we do when selling our players and overpaying for others, I can imagine that wouldnt look very good either.
