Vince Gilligan has confirmed it apparently.

It will follow Jesse after the events of the finale, my guess is that BCS will lead up to that point and they will coincide the series and film with Jesse and Saul post Walter.

Even if it’s just 3 hours of their painstakingly slow cinematography of barren deserts and cheap motels I’ll be all in.

I'm sure Vince Gilligan will do a good job, i was unsure how Better call Saul would work out but i'm probably enjoying the series just as much as i did with Breaking Bad. Its obviously going to be interesting to see how he fits a story into a movie length, either way i'm excited.

This seems like a really stupid idea. Can we not just make up our own minds what happened to Jesse?

I was a fan of BB and I still watch BCS, but is there really much love for this anymore? It only finished 5 years ago, no walter etc best left alone for 10 years at least or for good.

Argh. Love the series to death but I don't think they need to meddle with it anymore.

Disappointed that Gilligan has become entretnched on miliking the same universe for more ventures rather than start something new. I like BCS but all the BB easter bunnies and call backs are my least fav. part in that show as well.

This feels a bit like House of Cards without Spacey, although I haven’t seen it yet.

I don't know about others but I started getting bored nearer the finale. All the decent characters, heroes and villains, were dead and then finally so was Walter.

Maybe the film could show he was saved by the cops at the end. Then meets up with Jesse to take on the South American drug lords. I'd watch that.

Agreed. Better Call Saul seems great from what I've seen so far of it. But VG really needs to invest his time in something brand new. There's only so much you can build around once universe. And I wouldn't care if some spinoff tanked. But BB should not be touched IMO. Don't ruin what is already great as it is.

Gilligan has said on a few occasions with regards extending BB he'd only do it if the story was there. Granted that's what everyone in his position says before they release misfiring additional content but given how much I enjoyed Saul I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt on the upcoming film.

Rather that than be this guy in the Guardian:

https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-...e-movie-tv-spinoffs-vince-gilligan-worst-idea

shitting it at the thought of Deadwood, Walking Dead and BB films because the likes of Sex And The City 2, Charlie's Angels and CHiPs were contemptibly dogshit cash-ins.

Also in an article doubting and second-guessing Vince Gilligan he includes the lines:

"And God knows by now we should all know better than to ever doubt Vince Gilligan."

"Again, only an idiot would second-guess Vince Gilligan."

If you like BB and Saul why not give the film a chance instead of immediately being worried and disappointed?

Dennis Villesneauve as director and Taylor Sheridan for writer please or Coen brothers.

Anyone who's seen Sicario/Hell or High Water/No Country for Old Men will know!

Imagine BB movie with Cranston, Jonathan Banks, Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem.

Yeah, getting a real nice ender to Jesse would be a real cool thing wouldn't it?

How would the movie even work when Walters dead?... unless there’s some really ridiculous deus ex machina moment and he’s not. Could Aaron Paul/Jesse carry a Breaking Bad movie on their own?

I bet it’s going to be a fecking commercial of some sort and they’ll use a beloved franchise to shill it, like Stella Artois did with The Big Lebowski and Jeff Bridges.

My assumption is we get to see the direct aftermath of the crime scene. Maybe Walter didn't actually die until at least a few minutes/hours later so that's where we see him. Maybe he actually got saved and jailed, but finally dies of cancer whilst there. I don't think it was ever confirmed that Walter was already dead while Jesse was driving away, that was left to interpretation.

However, I think a more likely scenario is that Jesse has flashbacks of Walter and he's like a ghost talking to him at times, all in his head etc.

Saul Goodman and Mike are smashing it with Better Call Saul. Some of it has eclipsed BB imo.

So yes, if the writing is good (and it's Gilligan, so it will be), Jesse could absolutely carry a continuation of BB.

Having said that, Walt will absolutely be involved in some capacity.

I hope it's about how Skylar and Flynn deal with the aftermath.

The ultimate predictable plotline would have been the cops turning up at the warehouse and finding Walt's body gone but as it was there when they arrived then even if he survived he'd spend the rest of his life in prison. So maybe a prison break plot :).

Unfortunately I can't see much screen time for Bryan if this isn't the case ha

After what Jesse has been through he's gonna be even more of a mental case in the direct aftermath.
It’s breaking bad, man, not Days of our Lives
