Great to hear. Hope the likes of Rojo and Jones will be phased out soon and have him and Bailly be the sort of backup to Smalling and Lindelof.

The boy's trending on twitter, here's some reactions to the game from Villa supporters.

Caught the game last night thought he looked really good, Villa in general looked quite good.

Only watched the first half but was shocked (in a good way) at some of the passes he was playing for a CB last night.

Maybe won't need to buy anybody if the lad continues like this

He should play for us next season. If you’re good enough you’re old enough.

Hope he gets a good season and depending on what happens in the summer, a season long loan with a PL club should be the next sensible step.

I made a typo, I meant to say that there Tuanzebe should be good enough to make our squad and get game time in the future. But imo, he's certainly not as good as Bailly yet.
I agree that Bailly when fit and on a run is a great defender. But fitness is the problem and Tuanzebe seems to be made of sterner stuff so I think he should be brought back at the end of this season. I have always said that he has the strength, speed and ability to bring the ball out of defence well.

Tuanzebe is a funny one! Mourinho lavished praise on him in his first season and also gave him a run of games (in which he did well) He then proceeded by buying two young centre backs that would block his route through and hasn't played him since!

I'd rather we play him than Lindelof and think he has far more potential too!

He did the same thing with Pereira - He's a strange individual

He shouldn't have gone back on loan this season, he's at the level of all our centre backs despite being much younger.

Doing excellently now after a sketchy start at Villa. Will definitely be a first-team squad mainstay in 2019/20 season, probably under a new manager.

Glad he went on loan, he needs to play and he is getting that at Villa. Hopefully he continues to improve and next season will be a part of the squad under a new manager.

Is be better than Joe Gomez?
Joe Gomez is a key figure in a Liverpool side that have conceded 5 goals in the league this season. He’s also a fully capped England international. Tuanzebe’s a good talent in his own right, but it’s pretty clear Gomez is ahead of him in development and ability right now.

maybe the better question is who would have been seen as the bigger prospect

Tuanzebe turns 21 tomorrow, the same age as Gomez. Who's to say if he's given a chance here he may not have the same impact.

Good that he's playing regularly in a tough league, much more important than sitting on our bench or playing reserve footy.

Should send him on loan to Villa again next year if they get promoted.

Gomez was a regular in The Championship at 17. He made the team of the tournament when England won the u17 Euros in 2014. If it were not for a couple of serious injuries he would likely be much more further on in his career already.

Its hard to say that Tuanzebe is or has been more highly rated.

Hope that he gets a proper chance with us next season. Could evolve into a proper first choice centreback given time.

Get a bit nervous when i read rumours about us wanting to sign players like Granqvist and Cahill...

He's a baller alright, just needs somebody dominant in the air alongside him if he's going to have a future at the highest level as a central-defender because for someone his height he's band average in the air.

Can still see him developing into a DLP because he's got all the tools, and then some, to play there.

Silly how some people rate him better than Lindelof, don't get me wrong I think the kid has talent but we tend to overhype our youngsters. It was the same with Fosu Mensah, some people claim he was ready 2 years ago and he can't even make it in a low table team like fulham.

We need to trust our youngsters but not depend on them, they have a process. I hope he comes back next year and we slowly give him minutes and let him play in some easy matches to build his confidence. Right now he is looking good on the championship.

It may not have been Jose's intent, but at least we can rest easy knowing Tuanzebes doing well with Villa instead of being surrounded by the uncertainty, negative spotlight and harshness at United right now.

Aston Villa is 9th in the Championship. Doing well there means nothing for us.

It's a very competitive league and he's getting first team football. That is infinitely better for him than going stale at OT.
