Just seen Jose's interview and have to agree with him. The midfield was awful. Much too slow Or should I say: Pogba was awful. he wants nine touches and to dance a full fecking ballet before releasing the ball. Lukaku actually makes some good runs but the ball never arrives. This is not the manager's fault.. although you can say he has bought the players and picks the team, but how can you prepare for the sort of stupidity Pogba shows time and time again. I think he may well not play against Arsenal unless our injury situation demands it. He can feck of to Barcelona a or back to Juve for all I care. World class? Yeh right and nine is a smaller number than six!

Other negatives: who the feck told Young he could take free kicks. Woeful. fecking woeful. He needs to go and soon.

Positives: I thought Jones actually had a good game, Herrera did some good defensive work but he isn't the creative answer we need. Shaw was pretty good. Dalot looked comfortable when he came on and hopefully Lukaku's goal will restore his confidence and he'll go on a run. Over all, two points from two games against teams who will be fighting relegation all season. That's pis poor and the players must take a lot of the blame
Maybe Herrera should be playing the Matic role all the time. He has shown he can do it, but our idiot of a manager had to bring his boy Matic in. Pogba really needs to take a serious look at himself. Thank goodness Young will be suspended.

No Smalling, Lindelof, or Bailly. Jones just back off the sick list and Matic and McTominay filling in. I can understand why he set the defence up the way he did but there's no excuse for Pogba's silly antics and leaving Martial on the bench.
Trying 3 at the back was never a good idea. No width wasn't a good idea neither. Starting Lukaku neither. Playing McTominay neither. Subbing Rashford neither. So much shit he did today again. Unbelievable. And people still defend him.

fecking hell, as if I've gotta watch this team again twice this week.

Just awful, and should've known it would be from the team selection. The lack of quality on the ball that these players are showing is quite worrying, and we've got far too many slow and lanky players for any team, nevermind one with our aspirations.

Mourinho has to go very soon, it's not all his fault but something has to change.

A bad game today but what a luck that VNL is injured, otherwise, Southampton would have won. Now we can start collecting victories without losing goals again. Note, it's irony for you who do not understand it.

Is this season pretty much a write-off at this point?
And if so, can we at least stop playing the shit players and just give kids with potential first team minutes..
Finish 15th. Don't care.

Play Gomes, Chong, Pereira, Dalot, Greenwood.

What could possibly go wrong?

Will have some reason to watch us.. At the moment, its just a waste of everyones time.
+1

Would at least bring youthful exuberance, no fear...and point of interest for fans. We all know tho you can’t win anything with kids

See how Pogba lost many balls like his brain suddenly stopped and Lukaku can not stand on his feet. The state of our players is so easy to see. There's a psychological issues within those players. And it comes from the manager his words his tactics and the way he speaks about the players. How can we fix this?

And that's exactly how he manages to fool everyone and get support. Yes, even people who know nothing about football can see we are too slow. However that's a big part of his job. I just cannot understand how can he complain we are too slow when he picks a team like today? Players need to be COACHED to move, make themselves open to receive the ball. You cannot play fast football when no one is moving and there are 0 options to pass the ball. You can't just be like "Guys, play fast please.". There needs to be a proper shape and 99% of the time we just look completely lost and uncoached on the pitch.

I thought before the game that a draw was probably the most we could get out of this game given the level of performance we have seen from us so far , we are mid table quality so far this season and that shows with every game.

I think it is time(well past) for Mourino to go but unfortunately he will leave a poor quality squad for the next man, so our problems will continue.

We keep hearing these are good players just playing badly , but at what stage do we come around to the conclusion that maybe they are just not good players.

The touch , the workrate , the vision , energy etc is just so lacking in so many payers at this level.

And if it is just down to confidence and a bad manager then you have to question the character of the players , good players with character perform no matter what the situation is. But we have so many players who just look bang average whenever they play.

We have a downright horrible team right now. The results and performances this season support this. Sometimes you need to realize that something just won´t work and a total reorganizing is needed to turn things around long term. The board do not seem capable of taking the actions needed to address the current issues. They seem to favour the option of doing nothing and hope everything fixes it self in time. This is amateurish leadership and the club deserves to fail utterly with such inept leadership shown by the board and the glaziers.

I'm completely mystified by that second half. Having got back to 2-2, I really thought we would win comfortably. Instead, we were bland and sluggish, and then Mourinho took off our best attacking player, and actually the only one who was doing any running. Simply bizarre!

Some players did emerge with credit: -

Ander Herrera - grew into the game after a slow start.
Phil Jones - was our only natural central defender, and it showed.
Scott McTominay - played out of position, but was generally solid (contrast with Nemanja Matic).
Marcus Rashford - at the heart of everything positive we did, but culpable for the second goal we conceded.

The villains of the piece: -

Nemanja Matic - even though he was played out of position, I would have expected better decision making, and he was at fault for the first goal.
Paul Pogba - generally poor, dwelt on the ball as usual, and was a bit fortunate not to pick up a second yellow card. To be fair, he did provide the pass to Rashford in the build up to our first goal.

Starting line-up consisting of McTominay, Matic, Fellaini, Young, Lukaku etc. is insulting.

Why don't we play Pereira, Fred, Mata, Chong are we allergic to skill? This is like some communist regime where the intelligent are shot and the dumb villagers are made directors and politicians.

Ludicrous team selection and horrible performance, and what really compounds it is they are a very poor side, wide open, yet we never really went for it once we got level, there was no intent in the second half and we didn't try to really change things up with the subs and get at them, in truth they looked more like scoring a 3rd goal in the 2nd half than we did.

This whole thing is flat out ridiculous. We are a joke of a club now, and Mou doesn’t seem to care, but is allowed to continue to sit players with upside like Fred, Bailly (sick of hearingnhe is injured), Pereira, Chong, and Martial. Today’s line up was a joke and honestly negligent. Arsenal is three full days away.

We look a side devoid of ideas and frightened to pass the ball forward.

The work rate s appealing the desire is non existent.

No teamwork or understanding..
Jose has to go.

Right first things first.

This ticket checking policy is a fecking joke.

Once we made it in to the ground I'm amazed by the relatively sombre atmosphere pre match. At 2-0 the away end was odd....it was just silent. We sang for a bit in the second half but you could tell that the performances have drained the match going fans to the point of just acceptance.

Obviously it goes without saying the performance was piss poor.

Jose out.

His midfield choice was pure insanity. I guess Jose equates big player with protecting your backline instead of playing a midfield that could control the game.

Why are they accepting it though? Why aren't they voicing their opinions?

I would have had Herrera, Pogba and Fred. Didn't see the point of having a Fellaini in there as well. Herrera and Fred have energy, not sure what Pogba had today though.

Herrera, Fred and Pogba is the most logical midfield so I assume we will never see it.

Mourinho moaning about midfield giving the ball away today? Is he pulling the p*ss??? He started Fellaini and McTomminay? Left Fred and Mata on the bench and Perrera out of the squad completely.
And has he not been watching his illegitimate son, Matic this season?

Of course and in the end Fellaini looked very tired himself. Fellaini when properly used can be effective but not this way. We should have played Fred with Pogba and Anders. I still cannot understand why Matic had to start at CB. Rojo was on the bench and any day he is better than Matic at CB and probably better than Matic even in midfield now.

No excuses for the result or performance but on a side note, the ref was absolutely awful. It wasn't a particularly dirty game and it seemed like both teams had half of their sides booked.

Caught the second half today and evn I am surprised with how little I cared. Was having a few drinks with friends and told we were two goals down. Couldn't be bothered, came home to find the score at 2-2 and i honestly didn't even bother paying attention to the game in front of me.
My growing apathy is troubling,

Our performance in the first 15 to 20 minutes could have passed as an episode of the 'keystone cops'. In the next phase of first half play we were redeemed thanks as much to Southampton naivety and some urgency mainly injected by Herrera. The second half best forgotten!

What happens next? Tune in on Wednesday...if you can stand the suspence.

I don't know how Mourinho has done it because this didn't happen during the Moyes and LVG's reign, but towards the end of the game I caught myself actually willing on Southampton to get the win. I detest Mourinho United, it'll be one of the best days in our club's history when he fecks off.

Herrera reveals Arsenal game plan
Ander Herrera has admitted Manchester United must approach the game against Arsenal as if it were a cup final.

Jose Mourinho’s side came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Southampton at St Mary’s and up next are Unai Emery’s Arsenal side.

Despite coming back from two goals down it was seen as a missed opportunity for United against a Southampton side who have only one at home in the Premier League once this year.

United had the momentum going in the break thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Herrera and the Spaniard believes the team should have pushed on to get the winner.

“It’s two points dropped, but apart from that we can build from what we did after they scored the second goal,” he told Match of the Day.

Full story.

I hate these stupid posts.
All players should be banned from using social media for 48 hours after a shit result.
Jose harassing the players and not allowing them to even use their social media accounts. All relations broken.
