To me, he needs to play alongside better players to get the best out of him. He doesnt seem to be the type that can consistently bring his best on a team where he is clearly superior to the other players

Not the biggest fan of Pogba, but I have no idea what his role was after coming in. Mourinho isn’t helping him, clueless sub.
What would you guess his instructions were as he was getting thrown in at the same time as Fellaini and Lukaku?

“Paul, be like a net in a tennis match as we pump balls up to these two guys. K go get em. Oh and listen to the boos on your way out there...:keano:

Some players don't care, some are just shite. Matić cares but Is totally out of form. Same with Lukaku.
Do you actually think so? To be honest, this season I don't think Matic has looked like he's arsed at all.

Didn't do anything wrong when he came on so don't understand the criticism so much.

It's clear he needs to be surrounded by good players to bring out his best football. Unfortunately we don't have many of them anymore.

Yeah I just think he's too slow and too gassed after a short while in the game to put good performances.

He didn't do anything at all when he came on. What he did wrong was doing nothing - having him on the pitch was us down to 10 men. We'd have won it in the dying stages if the virus hadn't infected us!

I had us down for a 3-2 win and we'd have got it but for that lazy show-pony being introduced.

IMO He cost us 2 points today.

10 men, really?

What was he meant to do in the limited time he had, in a midfield that was being overrun and probably one of the least creative in the league? Pogba isn't the guy that's going to drag us out of mud all the time when we are bad. Don't understand how some people don't realise this.

He just doesn't give a shit any more, does he?
This.

He wants to leave and will start and be the best midfielder at Juventus, Bayern, Barcelona or Madrid. Why would he give a feck about Joses team?

At this rate he'll be back at Juve in no time. For a cut price on top of that.
Well no one is daft enough to pay big money for him that's for sure, which says all you need to know about the guy. He's just going to be another one of those players that never fulfilled their potential / lived up to the hype.

Mourinho managed to turn Chelsea fans against Hazard and those lots were convinced booting their best players for Jose's nonsense was the answer.

People on here were laughing at that and pretending to be better fans yet here we are with the majority worshipping and eating up whatever drivel the man's spews. What a bunch of dumb imbeciles we have on these boards and in our fanbase in general.

Read his Juve honours list and you'll realise they'll happily have him back even for big money.

Maybe people have had enough of him because of performances like Southampton, rather than anything Mourinho (who most people have also had enough of) has said.

Incidentally, Mourinho said he had a good game tonight in his post-match conference.

No those people didn't have "enough". They are sheep following whatever comes out of Mourinho's mouth. Had they been having enough a long list of players would have gotten booed way long before Pogba.

They saw the story about virus perpetrated by Mourinho's goons and ate it up. Now like true sheep they're mindlessly following and believing in whatever comes from the man's mouth.

Embarrassing lots.

Like he was the only one that looked half arsed at times this season, Matic and Lukaku have strolled through the whole fecking season, Bailly has looked deflated and uninterested at times, Martial also, none of them have been booed by their own fans, but then none of them have had their manager get his journo buddy to put an article out branding them a virus, it's disgraceful.
He also said he wouldn’t play apparently. And yet there he was on the pitch. It’s almost like you shouldn’t believe everything you read.

I’m not sure what people expected him to do coming on in a game like this. We are a team with no plan except for the Fellaini option.

The disappointment with Pogba is inevitably bigger because the expectation was bigger. He was the worst player on the pitch vs Saints, so a few boos three days later (and it was just a few) is hardly a massive surprise, regardless of what Mourinho did or did not say.

You seriously don't believe the boos are because of the performance. Most united players perform poorly week in week out and reactions when coming out for next games have not been of boos.

It's pretty clear why these fans booed Pogba specifically.

He should move on to an actual football side. Win trophies and show the player he is.

Ridiculous that he was boo'd.

Absolute joke.

Because he's our club record signing, the most expensive central midfielder in the history of football, but at the weekend gave the ball away as many times as the entire rest of the team combined, and didn't look even a tiny bit arsed about it?

Nope.

It's the same reason Chelsea fans called Costa, Fabregas and Hazard rats.

So why didn’t you boo the most expensive striker in the league who hasn’t scored at home since March?

Stop talking rubbish. They boo’d like sheep because of then leaked bust up. Our fans you included can’t think for yourselves.

Because I have never, and probably would never boo a United player.

Nothing wrong with supporting the manager in a dispute with a player, if that's why they were booing him. I think it more likely that they were booing him because of his utterly shameful performance at the weekend. Who knows though (you certainly don't).

I happen not to support either of them at this stage and would happily see them both shipped out next month.

The poster is either naive or blatantly being disingenuous.
Or just disagrees with your (and the poster above's) ludicrous assertion that everyone who is disappointed with Pogba is a mindless, Mourinho-worshiping sheep.

Better without him than with him.
I agree with you. The team played at a better pace and intensity, and I don't believe that would have happened if Pogba had been on the pitch slowing everything down.

An interesting stat presented on Sky or BT Sport (I can't remember which) - Pogba has lost the ball in the league this season more often than any other midfielder bar one (Billings at Huddersfield Town).

The idiots in the crowd booing him obviously do believe what they read, and he brought him on because he needed someone capable of playing the accurate long balls to Fellaini in our standard last ten minutes desperation plan.

This club and its so called 'fans' have well and truly gone to the dogs... :houllier:

Backing a poisonous mercenary manager who has previous of these same underhanded tricks who couldn't give a damn about the club against our best player who has even stuck up for the fans this season putting his neck on the line vs him is so fecking tragic!

You watch, Paul Pogba will be off soon to a proper club who will appreciate him and provide a quality platform for him to show why he is one of the best players in the world.

Absolute jokers, the lot of you.

Good luck getting Martial or De Gea to stay in this circus too. By which point, I don't think Mourinho will care as he will collect his £20 mill and leg it.

Everyone knows Pogba is good when there are runners. So it was good to keep him on the bench when we have Rashford, Lingard, Martial pressing and all over the place in a good way. Then after subbing in Lukaku for Martial, Fellaini and Lingard Jose somehow thought it was good idea to bring Pogba.

The midfield absolutely pressed the feck out of Arsenal but as soon as he came on we went back to being shit. Herrara-Matic for the next couple of games plz. The cancerous presence can leave as he wish.
Jose first.

This thread remind me of those times when Mourinho started slagging off Martial publicly and the sheep followed suit. Back then Martial hardly got any game time and was only given some 10 or 15 minutes cameos from time to time.

Because back then the narrative and the mood with sheep was to slag Martial, they'd rush into his performance thread and absolutely hammer him for having a quiet game in the 10 minutes cameos he used to get. He got over scrutinised, body language experts were all over these boards.

This is exactly what's happening with Pogba. Mourinho has criticised him and now his sheep are looking for every excuses under the sun to have a go at him and vindicate their deity Mourinho.

They do this crap all the time to whichever player is being harassed by Mourinho. Just a bunch of imbeciles regurgitating everything that comes out of Mourinho's mouth. They are an embarrassing group of mindless sheep.

What did we really create against Arsenal without him? Herrera, Matic and Lingard put themselves about but didn't really create that many opportunities. Herrera did well for our first goal but aside from that how many chances did we really create without Pogba?

Some people on here will blame Jose and Matic for everything.

One of Matic’s better performances, not really sure he can get worse though. He got Man of the Match on BT thought Herrera was excellent, worked his socks off and love the dirty side of him , tackles and rolling around 3 or 4 times after a tackle !

Pogba didn’t deserve to start and doesn’t deserve to start at the weekend. Send him to Valencia to play with the fringe players.
Agreed completely.

Besides, Pogba is playing in his best position with freedom to dribble down the channels and simillar to how he played in Juve and sometimes France. The difference is he doesn't work near as half as he did for those.

We were never going to win a big match without him starting. Remember past Arsenal, City ,Chelsea matches. Martial is half the player without the Virus supplying passes. Even his poor match vs southampton he played some great killer balls
