Just seen it advertised that BT sport are running a programme tonight about when United went from champions to being relegated within 6 seasons.

Should be an interesting watch on a period of our club a lot of our younger fans (myself included) won't have seen much of.

People are getting ever so slightly carried away.

"Disaster" to us, is coming 7th for goodness sake.

As a fan also of Wycombe Wanderers, I can tell you what disaster actually is, as my boys almost faced it the year Moyes screwed with us.
Relegation to non league and facing going bust. That's actual disaster.

The irony!
Surely irony would be if it was a programme saying how magnificient United are, always are, and always have great leadership and direction.

falling to sh!t, is what we're currently looking at, not the opposite!

Give Mourinho a 4th season and I reckon anything's possible.
Give him a fifth, and we might be contending for a league title again. The Championship, that is, and it’s only a realistic goal if he’s sufficiently backed in the transfer market, of course.

It's mad how some have actually convinced themselves we are relegation Candidates. Yes the season is shite but it's not that shite.
It’ll be tough to stay up but we might sneak it. If not, feck it, I reckon we would at least be good enough for a playoff spot in the Championship and maybe even a day out at Wembley

Sure it's a fall. But they act like we haven't touched any silver in years. We've won 4 or 5 trophies since SAF left. How many has arsenal or precious Liverpool won?

Heh, look at all those Caf basement dwelling 'models' who are apparently 'too good' to go down. Hilarious.

Watching this makes me think a lovely season in the Championship would be refreshing.

Where do you want it ? Mega,ok.ru, openload?
Mega is uncompressed but you have to download it.
If it's a safe download no worries, otherwise a stream would be preferable. Out of Their Skin available too by any chance...? You're awesome by the way ^

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Really good watch and spooky parallels with recent times.

A great Scottish manager, very successful, maybe allows his last team to get too old, doesn't replace players quick enough, almost impossible for immediate successors to succeed.

Second half about Docherty was great... probably the only manager between Busby and SAF who coped with the expectation and pressure. Had to cope with Best decline/disappearances, player power, an aging team and despite relegation, turned it round and other than Stepney, rebuilt the team and that mid/late 70s team remains one of my favourites today.... a great CH, two great wingers, Pancho and his one armed salute and fast attacking football. Good times. :)

(P.S..... I've never seen that interview with Law in 74 before. Most United fans know that "Law relegated us" is a myth but he looked absolutely desperate to make it clear to the interviewer that it wasn't down to him. Always loved United.)

I’d like us to get relegated for a change easiest way we can bin off all our players and backroom staff and start from scratch, have a proper rebuild of the club.

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
Good documentary, full of memories for me. That was very much "my team". Though I will say I don't really remember the "too good to go down" feeling - we didn't decline overnight. And yes, our year in Division 2 really was quite exhilarating - like taking a year long sabbatical from work. :smirk:

Hearing the different versions of familiar stories like "Docherty drops Best and George quits" and Docherty's sacking was good as well. A reminder that the version that ends up in the papers isn't always the only version.
