I think this is far too simplistic a way of looking at it.I have a feeling a lot of fans would want us to lose tonight if it meant Mourinho would get the sack sooner. Because they hate him more than they love United. This is where some are now.
Sometimes, people will sacrifice the short term for the greater good. Sure, one defeat tonight would have hurt tonight but does a draw really do anything but delay the inevitable? It's not just about hating Mourinho, but thinking that it would be best for your club if he was to go now before the season was a total write off.
I remember kind of just wanting the killing blow to come when we had AVB. It's more painful just limping by week after week with the manager hanging on but clearly not really able to turn it around.
