I don't know who we have potentially lined up for future manager, but I'd like to think we would try and approach these two managers if we fired Mourinho in the next few weeks, as they would be ready to join us mid season. Who would you prefer to have?

Woodward has his d**k in his hands and doesn't know what he is doing. Any sane person would've been planing for Jose's successor the day they signed Jose. He is clueless. Jose deflected blame to his team, woodward, the owners and recently Pogba. He is a virus to this club. But the Glazers are the real leeches. Zidane wont come to this mess midseason. Sack Jose. Hire a DOF. And I would take Jardim. Not with the expectation of winning a title but one of building a solid team. All I want is a sense of direction and focus.

My current dream is Jardim comes in, with Luis Campos not too far behind him as the first of two or three DoF figures.

They review the squad for the remainder of the season, with the simple objective of finish as high as you can. Once they’ve had 4 months of reviewing this squad, they then know who needs to stay, who can go, who needs to bought etc in preparation for summer... instead of coming in May or June and having to rely on a pre-season as first hand experience with this squad.

You know, some proactivity for once.

I think Jardim would give me more confidence at playing good football given how he had Monaco playing and his success at the actual coaching side of it. What Zidane did with Madrid was terrific, but managers of clubs like Bayern/Madrid/Barca are just hard to gauge sometimes. Especially Madrid. Great achievement, but didn't really have a distinct style that he built on the team nor was there some sort of consistency. It worked perfectly for them what he wanted to do, but it's hard to say how he would have United playing, what players he would go for, but what you could say is that he would definitely have the instant respect of everyone and more than most things, work the man management and encourage attacking play at least. He'd be a risk.

Most important is to get rid of the cnut that's currently in charge. After that, there really needs to be a thorough vetting process to find out what the managers plans are, what sort of things he wants for the team, the direction he sees the team going in and way he will play.

Jardim was one of my alternatives but after what happened to Monaco this season are we really willing to take that risk? I have been Pochettino in since last season and I will not change my mind. Pochettino is the perfect match, with a little time he would become our Klopp but I can't see him coming unfortunately. Out of Zidane and Jardim I don't really know. What Zidane did with Madrid was an amazing achievement but I'm not really sure that means he would automatically do well here and Jardim had a nightmare with Monaco before he got sacked.

Jardim has coached a pragmatic style and a very attacking style which is quite interesting. My only fear with him is, he will revert back to type if we give him the job. Someone allay my fears?

Is Jardim pragmatic/cautious? We don't need one of those ATM. What we need is a manager who can coach a cohesive and exciting attack. We missed the boat with Pep and Klopp but need the next in line for that bracket now.

I honestly don't think Pochettino would ever happen, he's too loyal and I don't think he'd join us straight from Tottenham, especially how content he is there at the moment. he'll go to someone like Real Madrid or even maybe Bayern Munich.

Jardim has coached a cohesive attacking style well but has shown his pragmatic style at SCP if i'm not mistaken.

Agree with this. Even if it’s not Jardim, personally I’d like to see us think outside the box and go for Setién at Betis. But yeah generally agree with the idea of getting rid of Jose now and just having someone come in to build without too much initial pressure seeing as how we’re so far off the pace anyway.
The only reason to not do this is if Poch is the guy wanted and if he’d want to come. It would make sense for him to see Spurs through to the new ground maybe even get a cup win then leave end of season.

I'm not pinning that on Jardim. If Jose is complaining about the board not backing him or giving him a competitive team as he keeps hinting at incessantly, he should look at what Jardim had just two years ago and what Monaco has now become. And this was after they sold a player that played 6 months of competitive football from the academy that they sold for 180 million the following summer. It's a disgrace what Monaco did, Jardim couldn't do anything about that.

He can play in both styles. Monaco's fast attacking football a few years ago was something else. He is definitely capable of competing with Pep and Klopp.

What happened to Jardim at Monaco was quite unique. He essentially lost an entire team of players in the space of a year.
Mendy, Fabinho, Bakayoko, Bernardo, Lemar, Mbappe and Moutinho. The replacements were absolutely shocking too. I don’t know what manager could cope with losing seven of his championship winning and cl semi final side. He was on a hiding to nothing and should have left in the summer really. But yeah wouldn’t read too much into Monaco this season.

Jardim is what we need right now. He'll take the players to training ground and coach them some football.

Zidane has the same problems Mourinho has regarding lack of definitive style and depending on the squad quality so he will fail miserably here like Mourinho.

Bring in Zidane. It is a win win situation. He will actually show that he is a good manager and did not win those three consecutive champion league by luck or he will be found a fraud like Ranieri at Lecesiter. But in all seriousness, Zidane is a great motivator and these players needs a manager who can instill confidence in them.

Domenico Tedesco. United at their best has always had great attacking wing play. This guy fits us to a 'T' in terms of how we'd like to play. He'd bring the team together while integrating our youth into the first team.

United will always have big peesonalities so Zidane would command instant respect and performance levels would be 100%. Jardim is also a very strong choice though but from Man Utd point of view, Zidane is the way to go. 3 CLs cannot be considered flukey.

You have to factor in what he was working with....Real Madrid we are not.

Conte has fallen with his last 2 clubs, Juve and Chelsea, due to transfer business. He left Juve midway in preseason because they didn't get what he wanted and spent a whole season at Chelsea slaughtering the board in media. He's not going to work with Ed well at all.

Jardim is the only manager who ticks all the boxes. Can work with whatever he has (unlike Conte and Zidane) and will be able to coach a coherent system (unlike Zidane).

Our problems are far from being just motivational. We're dogshite at football. The team needs coaching badly, and Jardim is someone who is going to do that, unlike any of the big names who want a ready made squad to apply their tactics and win.

That's how I see it too. We desperately need a manager who can coach the team properly, we don't know what we're doing most of the time and that is blatantly obvious when you compare how we play to how teams like City and Liverpool play. I don't think we're not motivated, I've seen effort and graft from the players many times this season, but it's not always enough just to try hard. Without knowing how to play well, as a team, we can try all we like and we'll still come up short.

Youd have to think pochettino is the top target. Financially it may be too much. If board are planning a change and these 2 are options there is no sense in waiting. This season is dead.

I don't follow Bundesliga closely. Do you know why Schalke are 13th currently, having finished 2nd last season ? I see that they had a shocking start to the season, losing their first 5 league matches.

They also have one of the older squads in the league. Their goals scored record this season is very poor. Even last season, while finishing 2nd, their goals scored was only 6th best.

Since 11/12 Schalke have finished 3rd, 4th, 3rd, 6th, 5th, 10th. Then Tedesco took over. 2nd last season, currently 13th.

On Expected Goals, last season they were the 4th best side and are currently the 8th best. So perhaps slightly lucky last season and a bit unlucky this season so far.

Transfermarkt rate Schalke's squad as the 5th most valuable.

The £38m net spend in Tedesco's first season looks high relative to other seasons. Before he joined, the club tended to make a profit in the transfer market.

Marco Rose has to be a contender. Proven record of developing a team, both a youth and first team...

Agree. But before anything, we need to sort this DoF out. Otherwise I believe any new man coming into the job will struggle. Ed really needs some footballing guys on his team. I preference would be Edwin with Mitchell a close second.

I would get the new coach in as soon as possible and he would have this half a season to begin implementing his Ideas before he gets a proper pre season in the summer.

Their front line has been decimated with injuries, so much so that Tedesco resorted to using a fullback and central midfielder as the front men against Dortmund in the derby.
The midfield has been a big problem, though; they can't seem to create chances or string together quality passes like they have last season. Key losses like Goretzka, Meyer, Höwedes, and Kehrer doesn't help matters much in that regard.

But this is the man hand-picked by Christian Heidel (the guy that brought in Klopp then Tuchel) to lead Schalke for the next 4 years. While everyone who follows the Bundesliga was awestruck by what Nagelsmann had accomplished, they forget that Tedesco finished ahead of Julian in both league standings and coaching school.

Jardim. Seems the better fit for what we need right now.
I will accept Zidane but only with a top notch backroom team to support him.

Agree with this too. But no point rushing in if the coach we want is not available. Even if we don’t get into Europe next year, it’ll do us some good! Will give us time to concentrate on new coaches tactics etc

We will not get either Jardim or Zidane this winter. The situation is too risky for them to come now.

I'd rather have Nicky Butt in the seat for 6 months, then having Woody signing a DoF (Berta or and then, him chasing Zidane, Conte or Allegri this summer.

I don't think that Zidane will end at United without CL or EL next season. Allegri can be tempted but I think Conte for two years, fixing few footballing issue can be good.

But my ideal choice would be Pochetino and Berta as a DoF, hence. we will probably have Paul Mitchell as DoF and hopefully Allegri as manager.
