Hopefully Jardim, I will also welcome Poch. Our best 2 options but Jardim is easier to get.

This man. The best coach from South America, the next one to go to European fooball and conquer it.

United should take the chance and get him.

Zidane or Poch, if we can't get them I think Jardim and Howe are riskier but worth a shot. I just pray it's not Conte or Simeone, we need an atttack minded coach.

Poch will be the overwhelming favorite followed by Zidane. Other options could be Jardim, Howe or someone from Bundesliga (Dortmund or Schalke manager).

I want someone in 40's. Young, vibrant and fresh. Anyone in that bracket?
I'm not going to pretend to know anything about the Austrian league but Marco Rose seems to be a highly thought of up and comer. I'm sure there are a couple in the Bundesliga as well.

Jardim, for me.

The fantasy la la land alternative is Mckenna gets the caretaker role and goes on to do great things.

What style of play will Jardim implement if he was given the job?
Jardim is adaptable. He can play pragmatic and can play free fluid attacking depending on which players he gets. He was pragmatic with Monaco till he got the great group of talents of last 2 years and switched to free fluid attacking football in expense of defense to suit them, which makes me more optimistic about him. He'll provide good football with what we have and will develop youngsters. We will coach our players how to actually play, unlike any big name imo.

Poch would be #1, no doubt, but I don't think he'll leave Spurs for another 2-3 years.

Howe would be #2. Much more of a risk, but a risk I'd like to see us take given our policy of just getting the most proven manager available has failed miserably the last two times.

Zidane #3, because, well, it's fecking Zizou.

Someone who can keep that job substantially more than few years would be great.

Don't even appoint a new manager who'll have difficulties with Woodward. Gonna be just another colossal waste of everybody's time.

Pochettino.

Jardim plays boring football people. Let's not make the same mistake FOUR times in a row.

Has to be Poch for me. He does a great job of improving players, changes the system to fit the players and get the best out of them, plays good football and seems to be liked by his players. Doesn't have a history with the media and seems to be well liked by other fans.

Poch will understand the club and respect its values too. It will be good to have someone who doesn't have beef with the press and doesn't bring drama with him.

Pochettino

  • Has a modern, attacking style of football
  • Promotes youth players
  • Good conduct on and off the pitch
  • Perfect age
  • Experienced in England
  • Rarely makes a bad signing

Yep, ticks all the boxes really. People will go on about trophies but he's only young and we've just hired two "proven winners" who were next to useless for us so....

It will just be nice to have someone that attacks and doesn't insult our players in every interview.

I want Poch. We've tried managers who have decorated histories, and it hasnt worked out well. Maybe someone who hasn't won anything will be hungrier to prove themselves, and therefore deliver

A bit of a waste of time discussing this until you know who the new Director/Head of Football is. It is thinking like this which is the cause of United being in the position that they are. In the short term, the caretaker to manage the first team until the end of the season and the appointment of the Director of Football are the two far more important decisions.

It's a huge appointment and not easy to call, as the last 2 seemed sensible based on available options/ track record, so I don't think that the obvious names should have the most sway.

Are there any exciting young managers on the continent? We just need to hire someone who plays attacking football and, ideally, develops young players. Those factors should be the priority.
