He can honestly do a bit of everything.

Rashford looked brilliant drifting about at the weekend. His one touch play and creativity caused havoc for Cardiff. All he slightly lacked was a tight touch in congested areas and composure in the box.

Greenwood has everything Rashford has. But in addition, Greenwood's tight first touch and assassin-like composure are probably his two biggest strengths. He has a prodigously complete skillset.

I know he's been stylistically compared to a Dutch forward like RvP, but I think that's mostly to say he's a striker in the total football mould.

I'm not gonna lie. He's the main reason I'm trying to get tickets for the Reading game.
Agreed, I get RVP vibes about Greenwood. He's a very complete player already. He'll need to bulk up a bit to handle the physicality of first team football though. If he was a a few yards quicker, physicality would be less of a problem imo.

Cheers for that.

Look forward to seeing him.

If this kid doesn’t make it, I’ll forever lose faith in caf’s praise of youth players.

Isnt that from book of Fergie, get ready for certain game.
Yeah it's on class of 92 were Neville said he was told by Fergie ' I've got just the game for you, just make sure you're ready for it ' which was in 2 weeks and he couldn't figure out if he'd been dropped or saved for a more important game.

You haven't watched him play? You should and then form your own opinion. Join the club.

Here's the Greenwood starter kit.

How does he play on the wings? That's the only place I can see him getting regular minutes for now.

Apparently he's just like a young RvP so he'll have no issues playing there! Or maybe some didn't actually watch the young RvP.
As for regular playing time, it'll be under 23's and 18's as he still needs to develop further. Lads 16 and has plenty of time.

Wouldn't say pace was that strong right now though, plenty of defenders have no trouble catching up with him and he has to release the ball.

He's just turned 17 in Oct, but yes still very young.

Although he is left footed but looks very natural on his right too.

Hes fast no doubt. Of course defenders will catch up with a lot of players nowadays. The modern day defenders are just as fast as the attacking players.

Was reading an article on the daily mail sports section last night and they said he was one of the top ten young players to watch out for in the world.

He is good? Never seen him play.

Been quite a lot of hype surrounding Greenwood. Never watched him play, apart from the odd highlight reel. Would love to see him get some game time against Reading.

He looks good from that video. But i am cautious. Not saying he is bad. But its another step up to make it to the actual team. I remember when posters were hyping up Ben Pearson as the successor to Scholes.

Is he good in general play?

He is good in general play. Intelligent hold up play and passing. Technically he's at a high level but it's a question of mentality if he can step up.

Ha ha. Where is he now?

You have to be careful with the youth players. It is a big step up from youth teams to the actual team. Only Rashford has made it in that last few years.
Well this is it. Saw someone say Greenwood was a better finisher than Lukaku the other day. Whilst it may prove to be true, until he makes that step up, it's all guess work.

Tunnicliffe's is at Milwall these days.

That youth team with him, Pogba, Morrison, Cole, Lingard, etc was exciting to watch.

Yes the harsh reality is that it’s not altogether likely that he has a better professional career than Danny Welbeck, who most of us would say has turned out as a slight disappointment.

Can't wait to see him against Reading. I'm expecting a legendary debut. No pressure.

I really think some are being over cautious with Mason! I've watched the U18's for 20 years and this boy has got the best all round game I've seen! He is destined for the very top of world football!

To be fair we have a great record. Last match we had three academy players starting in Pogba, Rashford and Lingard, and Pereira on the bench. United is the best top six club for young players. Tottenham a close second.

Caution is always wise. We’ve overhyped some very average players before. But even with that in mind, Greenwood looks as good as anyone I’ve ever seen in the academy.
