Fred is not ready to be starting for United, too inconsistent a player. Hope he comes good. I'm really happy with our new style of play, long may it continue!

From 9 points off 4th to 7 points off City in a week!
What's going on with the mighty Blues then? I think it's a blip. Liverpool will likely have one before season's end too so this has a long way to run with many twists and turns. Tottenham are looking good and we could easily charge up the table and be back in contention for top four.

Herrera was a game-changing sub.

Huddersfield was beginning to look dangerous up to that point and Fred was looking out of his depth, but Ole reacted well to the situation and helped prevent what was looking inevitable. He deserves credit for that.

What about that save from David de God. Leading from the front, the captain.
I don’t know if it’s confirmation bias, but big Dave has seemed much better these last two games. A lot of times this season he’s conceded goals that I thought he would normally save, but today especially, he seemed back to his best.

At the end of the day hes had a week which has been broken up by xmas as well, to work with the players and coaches to get his ideas across. Maybe the club will give him money to spend in the transfer window. A top CD to play alongside Lindelof and a fast skillful RW would make all the difference, or even try Lukaku from the right like he does for Belgium

Everyone looked better. Matic looks like he has life in those legs and Lindelof actually looks like a footballer. Pogba is just a master and Mata looked good too.

Loved how aggressively we pressed and harried at time and we created multiple shots from it. Shows what sort of style we need to be adopting. I feel so happy right now, because the club feels lighter again.

The physical nature of this game was too much for Dalot and Fred. Fred's touch, passing and defending was terrible. IMO it was necessary to give Young and Herrera a much needed break instead of another 90min game. Lindelof was day dreaming after 80th, possibly the rest of the team as well except DDG and Jones.
Agree. If we want to play high tempo week in week out then no option but to rotate with whatever we got at this moment.

most important thing is that we won playing attacking soccer.

However, our defence was very opened and the game could have been rather even if Huddersfield had taken their chances.

Fred played poorly. I do not think he should be starting the next game.

Martial would have added to the fluidity of the game.

Pogba is class.

Keep it up guys!

Decent game in overall, but we've been lucky at some stages. The team is well positioned on the field, the intentions are good and that high pressure gave us some chances to score, but in terms of ball playing we've been fairly mediocre.

I want to think that it's due to the holiday time and the lads were not 100 % focused. Probably playing at home against the last team it could help to be a bit relaxed. Huddersfield work really hard to close spaces as well, but I really think we lacked tension and sharpness today. It could have costed us a scare or two.

Anyway it's always good to comment on the things to improve with the points in the bag. Let's hope we can finish the year in a positive way next Sunday.

3 goals and we were missing 3 of our main team attackers in Martial, Lukaku and Sanchez.

Defence needs serious coaching but good to see Solskjaer being proactive with substitutions.

Good win, lets win with a clean sheet next game.

3-1 flattered us. I think we edged the game, Huddersfield were really good though.

Good result. Fergie like efficiency.

How could three experienced managers get it so wrong yet Ole come in and get every decision made so far so right? Brilliant.

There will inevitably be difficult times ahead (looking forward to seeing how he gets on against a top six team and in Europe), but so far everything he's said and done has been faultless.

Great win, conceding a goal late is really annoying but overall the game went well. Martial being out was a big miss because teams usually double-team him and he gives the midfielders an easy out-ball.

Pogba was amazing, everyone else played relatively well with some things we need to work on. Onwards to Bournemouth!

Good win. Nice football, Pogba MOTM. Lingard was invisible. I hope we buy a RW and CB. I am not sure Rushford is someone we can count on in the future.

Good game. At the mo I’m most interested in our capacity to attack and even without Martial we looked fluid and creative. Some nice goals, some nice play, even if we weren’t quite scintillating.

Game management not perfect, got sloppy at the end, and no clean sheet is a downer. But we’ve prioritised these things at the expense of enjoyable football for too long now, so I’ll worry about them another day.

That movement and effort for Pogba's first goal and then that Juve-like Pogba goal from distance was top top class. Hope his form and effort will be there to see match after match.

Disappointed that we switched off in final mins gifting them the goal. Threw away my 3-0 prediction as well :p

Definitely missed Martial.

Understandably not as fluent as Saturday due to fatigue and missing Martial. There will be some fierce competition once everyone is fit.

I think we did well considering we didn't have Lukaku martial Sanchez. Rashford was great. Pogba and Matic were immense. Players looked tired at the end which is understandable

We werent as strong in the second half but Huddersfield are a difficult side to play against.
I get that people want to be positive...good.
But Huddersfield are bottom of the league. Rock bottom and absolutely terrible.
They are not a difficult side to play against.

Phil Jones needs binning ASAP, the man is utter crap. Our other defenders aren't much better either.
What did Jones do that was problematic for you? What did the rest of the defence do that worried you?
Defence was really shaky, and we could barely deal with set pieces and crosses.
What did the defence do that made them look shaky?

If anything, our defence did a very good job to deal with the sloppiness from the midfield and wide players. Jones, Lindelof, and Shaw did a good job whenever balls came into the box. The real problem was the sloppiness from Fred in the midfield. He gave the ball away several times and still looks out of pace. He still doesn't look used to the pace of play in the Premier League. In the second half, Huddersfield switched to a 4-4-1-1 and overloaded the wide areas. Lingard was absolutely horrendous at tracking back on his flank and left Shaw 1 on 2 almost every time. Dalot also struggled to recover from his advanced positions and did not look comfortable in transition to defence. Young looked better in that respect. Huddersfield kept up their intensity for the whole game, and despite not matching that intensity, we won 3-1 courtesy of some proactive, quality football.

With that intensity, Huddersfield would have made it tough for any team, but quality, proactive, perseverant football is what gets the results for top sides. We looked like a quality side tonight despite not matching them in intensity and aggression. Notice how we conceded a goal at the end (thanks to Pogba losing his man and Lindelof/Herrera not communicating with each other) due to overall sloppiness.

They were competitive today. That’s a fact.

Good performance bar Lingard and Fred. Loved to see how these cnuts run all over the pitch and feel hunger and desire.

No idea how I managed to get it that wrong.
The Christmas booze perhaps?
I'm not worried about 3rd place. I am only focused on 4th. The top 3 will be LFC, MCFC, Spurs (not sure which order, though).
4th place, though ridiculously difficult, might be attainable.

We can't score five every game and I knew going into this game that it'd be a test. There's no easy games and Huddersfield, despite being bottom, reaffirmed that.

Started well without threatening too much. Moved the ball quite quickly, but the lack of width made it easy for Huddersfield to defend.

Once we got the goal, we really took the game to them and dominated the game. Huddersfield struggled to get out of their own half.

They were much better second half, and had it not been for a world class save by De Gea, it would have been 1-1.

Thankfully, our second goal by Pogba really changed the complexion of the game. Before that, we looked like we were going to concede.

We were able to control the game from there and looked dangerous on the counter. Once Pogba got the third goal, the game was more or less over.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to keep a clean sheet, but as was the case with Cardiff, I was happy with the attacking intent and energy on display today.

Herrera lost his man twice in the second half and the first time DeGea pulled off his outstanding save and the second one was their goal.

From open play yes, but set pieces we could barely win the first ball. The commentators say you have to react for the second ball but that's always hard / unpredictable.

Mata drifts too much to the center. I think he disturbs the flow. Martial to the left, Rash and Lingard swapping places center and right, with Pogba playing behind was more direct and stable combination.
