I think we did well considering we didn't have Lukaku martial Sanchez. Rashford was great. Pogba and Matic were immense. Players looked tired at the end which is understandable
Well Lukaku is not an upgrade on what we had on the pitch today. He is dreadful and needs to spend the next few months losing a lot of weight.
If he was on the pitch today, I think we'd have scored less.
Sanchez - the jury is out on him. He shows huge effort levels, but his goal tally is low. A non-scoring attacker?
Martial was definitely a big miss.

I agree with the rest, though.

In your closet, in your head!
Not to be a downer but I wonder how long the players can keep up this intensity. They played like mad dogs for nearly the full 90min. Started to look tired already towards the end.

Enjoyable match though.

I get that people want to be positive...good.
But Huddersfield are bottom of the league. Rock bottom and absolutely terrible.
They are not a difficult side to play against.
Playing against a team of giants is always difficult no matter how poor they are as footballers.
We did well to control them and make positive changes.

Crikey there are some right glass half empty people on here. Just enjoy it. You wouldn't want to be their other half. 'That was fantastic darling, but...........'.

The scoreline flatters us. Didn't think we were very good but i said we'd struggle pre match without Martial. The sooner we get some forwards back the better.

Fred is not ready to be starting for United, too inconsistent a player. Hope he comes good. I'm really happy with our new style of play, long may it continue!
When we bought him before the season started a guy on this forum wrote up a scout report on him and stated very clearly that he'd be behind Herrera in the pecking order and that he'd be a squad player, at best. A lot of people got very aggressive when they heard this and could not understand how we could spend £50M on a squad player who was worse that Herrera.

Great win. Played with positive intent, even if we were a bit sloppy. Felt we could have scored more which is good knowing we had convincing chances.Pogba was superb.

We won and scored 3 goals.
I don't think anybody is actually complaining.

Pretty good. Way better movement still.

Can't wait to add more quality to this set up now, whereas before buying players seemed utterly pointless.

We should be banking all our Home matches 3 points.

Pretty comfortable.
We got sloppy towards the end. Ole will get his hairdryer out.

Bournemouth next. :)
We need some hair drying!

The result cloaked our weaknesses - it showed Jose’s concern for the defence.

We were sloppy in defence through the game. They had chances and a good side might put them away. Being caught square for their goal was dreadful defending.

The positives were Rashford, Juan and Pogba making their moves. Jesse looked tired. Matic was the engiineroom again.

Glad this is one is out of the way.

It’s worth bearing in mind that Martial, Sanchez and Lukaku were all out of the squad. That’s a lot of (potential) goals.

Wasn't a brilliant performance but our attacking intent was evident. The second goal was again a fantastic team goal, just like last week. It's weird and lovely to see us score two goals of this nature.

Totally agree with this. Our setup is crying out for some replacements in correct positions

Good win. Nice football, Pogba MOTM. Lingard was invisible. I hope we buy a RW and CB. I am not sure Rushford is someone we can count on in the future.
Especially when he assisted Pogba and continued to stretch the defense. Those non existent runs need work as well.

This game reminds me of old, where we clearly have the better players, playing a certain style that looks to attack, built around our best player playing a woeful side that we could beat 4 or 5-0 but it’s a very comfy 3-1 win, using the lush old Trafford carpet. It’s going to take time to get the squads fitness up, hopefully in time we got the engine to keep this up. Cardiff was a taster what they can do when they got the energy, ole knows we have the players to do good things.

My positives, we building the side around pogba, fellaini does not start games, and we got that cutting edge.

The only negative is the banter defender Phil Jones plays again, that seems a very Carrick influence, he needs to be joining fellaini on the bench where he belongs.

But overall we played has a top club should play, and that brings the fear factor back to old Trafford which we have not had in a long time

That's classic Lingard, I thought he was poor in the first half against Cardiff as well, but he turned it up and eventually got rewarded for his efforts.

TBH - I can’t imagine a player or a manager referring to someone from the same club as a virus in social media.

Maureen should have been slapped. Look at the output Ole gets from being a ‘team’ manager.

I think Arne in any guise is more comprehensible than Maureen!

Martial was sick from too much Turkey.

Good approach and very entertaining game. You can tell that the players enjoy this style of play more ... little by little this way of playing is going to get stronger. Not all games will be like Cardiff but if we maintain the same intensity it will be easier to get results.

If we are going to play with fast passes and pressed enough there are some players who looked slower in the second half. You have to improve the physical condition of the players.

I really hope the players stalling on a contract will quickly sign.

DDG, Martial, Pogba...extension please.

Get Herrera and Mata signed up too.

The physical nature of this game was too much for Dalot and Fred. Fred's touch, passing and defending was terrible. IMO it was necessary to give Young and Herrera a much needed break instead of another 90min game. Lindelof was day dreaming after 80th, possibly the rest of the team as well except DDG and Jones.
Generally agree but Dalot still a baby but you see he’s got the goods physically. Needs to learn the positional aspects quickly but that’s hard in the league where everyone is fast and strong. But he should come good.

Fred is a bit of a concern. A 50m mid should be much better and I hope he adjusts after this first season. He is not strong enough to hold people off and his passing is erratic. Agree he should back up Herrera for the rest of this year if he stays at this level.

With the absolute filth we've had to put up with in recent times and people still have the energy to be negative? I'm glad I'm not them, how utterly draining.

We need a winger who can dribble past players. Martial is the only one in the squad and without him huddersfield found defending quite possible in the first half.

Rashford showed what we were missing when he moved to the left to beat the player and put a beautiful cross in for Dalot.

We did well considering rashford has had to run his legs out two games in a row and was our only forward in the squad. Lingard had to play 90 mins twice. We did well considering. When rashford went wide there was no one in the box. Having any one of the three I mentioned would have been massive for us
