Who knows how it will end for ole but i have really enjoyed his press conferences. He gets united. You can tell how proud he is to manage the club and you can tell how much he loves being here. Its just fecking great to have him here after 3 managers who didn't get the club or really try to.

I'm a big fan of Solskjaer, and I hope he does brilliantly for you but doesn't get offered the full-time position. It would break my heart a little if/when he does badly and becomes a hate figure.

Lineups, subs, tactics, results, giving Gomes chance.

Ole is doing everything perfect so far and I'm so pleased with him. Sure harder challenges will come but so far 10/10 management.

Really impressing with the linups and tactics , playing Rashford and Pogba in their best positions.

Please don't let it all go sour :(

Thought the early subs made a huge difference in the 2nd half, wasn't afraid to change to it straight away when Huddersfield started to get on top

It won't be like this forever, things will go wrong at some point, it has for every manager in the history of the game. What we as fans need to do is have patience with Ole, when we have a bad result or performance, don't get on case straight away.

I'm sold. Give him the £400m Jose had and we'd go toe to toe with city. Some of our play today felt like we were being managed by SAF in his prime.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Positive starting lineup, giving chances to 3 more players, proactive substitutions, giving youth a chance.

Same approach, and same sexy football.

Good again, nothing to criticize two matches in a row.

Other than Ole, Phelan seriously is doing his job well -- communicating with and motivating our players.

Agree. He is giving players chances but showing he's not a pushover, while making the right tweaks at the right time. He has my belief.

United scored 8 goals in a week, when did that last happen?

I hope he can keep it up. Would like nothing more than him doing great and deserving to be appointed permanently

Just a breath of fresh air at the moment... love his positivity. We still look fragile but It’s great to see the team putting so much emphasis on attacking.

There was a moment in the first half where Rash beats his man on the left wing and puts in a great cross and Dalot unfortunately misses the chance. You just know Jose would have been throwing up his arms in frustration... but Ole on the bench had a big grin on his face because it epitomised how he wants us to play.

Am I only one who thinks if he was with us at the start of the league, we would be in top 4 and probably closer to title leader. All convincing win from the last two games, not grinding out a result, we just dominated them and deserved to win. With him, I probably feel safer watching plays against outside top 6.

He's started very well. Still not entirely sure I can pinpoint his exact tactical blueprint but plenty of positives so far.

  • No sitting back like we did under Mourinho. Even after we score we try to pile on more pressure.
  • Tempo of the play is aggressive. Even when it's not coming off the intend is there.
  • We're scoring special team goals again. Second one today was a pleasure to watch.
  • Bodies in the box. We consistently found ourselves in positions where midfielders were getting out the box to add numbers.

absolutely love his usage of the full-backs so far, much more aggressive than under his predecessor. Just changes everything when you have full-backs who are actually allowed to contribute offensively.

8 goals in two games. Yes, we've conceded, but we've won two of our games playing the 'United way'. Attacked from the off and haven't sat back when we've scored.

Clever subs today too. Huddersfield looked pretty dangerous at one point in the second half, and could have quite easily made it 1-1, had it not been from the heroics of De Gea.

Bringing on Young and Herrera, whilst not defence minded subs, gave us a much needed balance to our side.

Good start from, Ole.

There is no much to complain about but judging him based on rebound period from JM is a bit tricky.

Was very quick to react when Huddersfield started getting better and made two good substitutions that helped us control the game.

It is a really good team goal. Herrera is so important to this type of pass and move play. He starts it off, and I didn't see until now he followed the play and got the assist to Pogba.

I wonder if we do have the players that allows an Ole to come in and just let us play ala a Barca.(not saying our players are as good)
Maybe the likes of Pogba, Rashford and Martial just need the freedom to play and you structure the framework around them rather than having a "Proper manager" that sets out how we play.
If that makes sense.

Too early to judge. After few more games, especially Spurs one we will be a bit smarter as this is still honeymoon period after Mourinho.

Although, he should have come after WH defeat. It still pisses me off we didn't make the change then.

It makes sense yeah. I think you need to have a lot of headstrong men and leaders on the pitch for it to really work on the highest level. Someone to take responsibility on the pitch and influence the team when things aren't going as planned or else you'll lose against the best teams in the world. I see so much improvement in the style of play at the moment, but I do miss that competitive edge or dominant attitude from our players. Especially when we collectively makes mistakes, nobody really takes charge for a while to change that. If we had that we could easily have kept a clean sheet and scored a few more against Huddersfield. But I'm not complaining right now, I'm just saying I don't think we have the players to allow Ole to simply push the right buttons and that will be enough. We definitely need more quality to go with it, which at that point Ole has lost his 5 month invincibility cheat code trial.

Some of us have said it earlier this year but this team is a lot better when the players play to score one more goal than the opposition and the players that you mentioned are part of that mentality, this teams requires a proper manager more than a veteran tactician.

Great so far.

But Matic still being a fixture is worrying. He will be targeted by better sides. He isn't creative and too slow.

City, arsenal and liverpool will press the shit out of him then we are fecked. PSG too.

I don't know if the players themselves would appreciate the breath of fresh air that Ole has been quite as much if it weren't for how low things felt. Still, we probably would be better off.

Im not really talking about attacking football though. We could get Klopp or Poch in and it would still be a problem in terms of imprinting their style onto the side.
Of course they would buy and sell and long term its a no brainer but this 11 specifically could work better with a manager who sort of bows to the players demands rather than setting them out with the managers vision in mind.
Trusting Pogba to know when to speed it up or slow it down, press forward through the middle with powerful runs or play it wide and support the play. Allowing Rashford to decide if he wants to drift along the line or drop deeper to pick up the ball.
I do think it'll say more about what this team needs if we do go on a run than if Ole is of the standard needed.

Spurs away is only in four games so we'll probably see then. I think we should do okay against Bournemouth, Newcastle and Reading before that. Under Jose I'd have had no confidence in any of them.

I've been saying we are quite capable of getting 21 out of the 24 before this, before we play Liverpool. Going to plan so far:D

I just love his honesty. He gave DDG credit for that save, he gives a lot of credit to the players and is keeping them happy and motivated. Perfect option for at least the short term to instill confidence back into the club and not just the players but the staff as well.

Perfect thus far. Long may it continue.
It wont be perfect the whole time obviously I just hope team will keep up improving and him with them. We looked better in 2 games and he made all the right moves and subs.
If we'll hit some rocky path I hope it wont be some lung run of bad form or something.

The subs today were spot on. Bringing om Gomes was perfect. Great two games so far, just need to sort out that defence. Loving Ole right now.

I call ole so far the commen sense one

Points how he’s doing well so far, how jose thought he couldn’t do show how out of touch he is

Tell the players to play with freedom and actually be likeable towards the team, and tell them what all modern sides do, play a positive style not fighting the squad

Play a faster attacking approach, including a more pressing approach and play the game on the deck, which starts from the goalkeeper and having the defenders split

Build the side around pogba, martial and rashford, not matic, fellaini and lukaku

Bench fellaini, and not playing matic and fellaini together.

Introducing youth

Rotating the right players

It’s going to take time to get this teams fitness levels up, since Jose got us so lazy and pragmatic and not rotating and thinking outside his smalling, matic, fellaini and lukaku box. It would be epic if he got the job and did so well, since we are handicapped from jose’s classic senile meltdown second to third seasons since it’s no question he was done since Sevilla in March

I'm very happy with OGS so far. He's said all the right things and gave us a hope and belief we can do something. It's not really that difficult. Play attacking football, let players express themselves and play without handbrake plus give some of the youngsters a chance and you'll have the OT faithful on the palm of your hand. Long long may it continue.

I don't agree with this statement at all, if we're going to play such attacking expressive football we will require a holding midfielder. Matic is more than capable in a system that isn't backs to the wall for 90 minutes, he will profit just as much from this new system as anyone will.

Mourinho and his negative football was the issue, he had us playing like a bottom three club against everyone.

Err, Matic is essential to our game. Infact he is the only thing that I am thankful to Jose for. Without his connection with Jose, it would have been impossible to steal him from Conte. :)
