Seriously the kids been linked with Bayern for weeks and doesn't have a thread?

Looking very good so far tonight, Chelsea's last ditch attempt to keep him? How highly do those who know a lot about him rate him?

I said a few months ago here(before his contract stand off) that he could possibly be Chelsea's in house replacement for Hazard.

Mores to the point should we be after him and how much more than 40m would Chelsea want from us

It's weird Bayern are going all out to sign an 18 year old from England with basically nothing but reserve team football. Obviously really highly rated. You would think one of these days Chelsea will actually bring through their young players into their own first team though.

Super hyped in our academy, good with both feet, direct and was billed as the same level of talent as foden and sancho throughout England youth.

I think his head has been turned by Bayern and we face a battle to keep him but I’d be gutted to see us sell a just turned 18 year old talented english player for £35-£40m and replace him with a 20 year old American who is similar but doesn’t meet the homegrown quota for £57m.

Praying we finally bench Willian and allow CHO to show what he can do with a run of games and that he signs an exentsion.

That's what I'm wondering is happening here, the Chelsea board have told Sarri he needs to play him so they don't risk a Sancho happening to them. They did after all let De Bruyne and Salah leave and that's bit them on the arse as well

And Pogba joined Juve on a free and Sancho joined Dortmund for 9 million. So both were low risk, high reward moves. If they sign Hudson-Odoi for 40 million and he flops they would look ridiculous.

We did it with Sanches and the world has basically forgotten all about him.

Yeah but, atleast with Sanches it was based on some appearances in the Portuguese Liga and his performance in the Euros in Hudson-Odoi it would be based almost entirely on performances in youth tournaments.

That will hurt them once he turns into a great player for Bayern, same as City with Sancho. These guys will cost 100m soon, especially English clubs will have to overpay to get them back. I hope we dont make the same mistakes regarding Gomes and Greenwood.

I really don’t think that will make much of a difference. We’ll be buying from Chelsea. People would be surprised, if he wasn’t expensive.

Getting 40m+ for a player who is not a first teamer and will not sign a new contract would not be a horrible deal for Chelsea.

He might go on to become a great player but this game isn't reflective of that. He tries to take the defender on but hasn't yet shown anything for it so far in this game.

He looks talented.

Hope he goes to Bayern. It'd help England in the long run, he's going to get treated like shite at Chelsea.

It is not 40m, closer to 30m. You would have said the same thing regarding Sancho last summer, look at him now. You dont sell your top youth products, one of the best in the country. No European top club would sell a great homegrown talent with his whole senior career in front of him, only in the PL.

Ibe and Solanke fetched 15-20m for feck all, even if he turns out average after a few years, the could sell him for a similar amount to some average PL club. If he turns out a great player, he could stay a long time there or you sell him to a top club for Dembele/Coutinho money.

United to go in with a cheeky bid? I suppose we would have caught wind of a bid by now being so late in negotiations with Bayern, and i haven’t seen alot of him to know whether it would be worth it or not, but young and english with decent potential - £30m isn’t a bad price, considering Solanke is £20m and looks average.

Remember watching him v Spain for England youth team and thinking it was very obvious that he would go on to make it. Not watching this game but the kids just got it, Chelsea would be mad to sell him.

Running his contract down, not signing another. They have to sell really. Main issue is not giving them a chance until it’s too late.

His best position is on the left. We have too many players there as it is. We’d be daft to go for him and he’d be daft to sign for us.

If he played more often at the beginning of the season, he would have probably signed. But after sitting on the bench for half the season and a club like Bayern whispering in his ear promising him a good chance at first team football at a top club with Sancho as prime example how to make it, no wonder.

Wasnt Dortmund looking at Gomes last year or 2 years ago? I am pretty sure there were reports when his contract was running down. Spanish (Diaz), German (Sancho, Odoi) and Italian (Pogba) top clubs have the top youth talents in England on their radar, because they know they wont play much and run down their contract, so you can get a top talent for cheap.

Is he likely to sign a new contract with Chelsea though?

With your record with youth players he'd be mad to wouldn't he?
With our injuries he has a great chance to prove he's a starter now. If he can't do that, then moving to Bayern isn't going to change anything. He's 18 years old and he's starting for Chelsea today, and the manager says he's become one of his starter choices. Moving now would be bizarre. He'd have to acclimatize to a new club, new tactics, a new language and hugely inflated expectations. At 18.

Maybe at any other club. Not Chelsea though.

But come on, he's only playing now because Bayern are sniffing round and so you're now panicking. If Bayern weren't after him I imagine he'd be nowhere near the side.

Your record with bringing through youth players is absolutely appalling, that must play a factor in his thinking.

This is the season where Ruben Loftus-Cheek has carved out his position as a starting option. Last season it was Christensen (despite his decline since). We haven't been great at bringing youngsters through, but its changing.

We managed to get ours to all sign contracts, the player's they're sniffing around are usually coming to the end of their contracts.

Actually it makes some sense. They see huge potential and might also consider Sancho rockin the house in Dortmund. Additionally Robben is going to change the club after this season and "Golden Steak Warrior" Ribery is becoming 36. So at this very moment Hudson-Odoi could already be starting to play first 11 for the rest of the season or as a back-up who still gets his minutes if Ribery or Robben are injured. Gnabry + H-O seems to be quite good for the future.

Also Goretzka Suele Sanches Kimmich are good company for "hungry" Bayern to attack CL-title.

Pretty slim pickings that

I think if Hudson-Odoi stays at Chelsea he never becomes a regular starter. Rumours are Bayern are telling him he'll go straight into their first 11.

Sounds like nonsense to be honest. Bayern are one of the biggest clubs in the world, yet they're promising an 18 year old with very little top flight experience an automatic place in their 11? I'm calling bullshit on that.

Bayern's winger situation is really poor if that is the case.

You're a Chelsea fan so obviously you'll want him to stay but you must see how any young player at Chelsea will be reluctant to stay?

Since Roman took over in 2003 you've pretty much brought through nobody at all. The last successful payer to come up through your ranks was John Terry 20 years ago or whatever it was.

You're not a club that makes it easy for young players to break into the team.
