Two loans where he’s lost his place in the side 6 months in.

Not a good sign.
After discolating his shoulder. Hard to keep your place if you are out injured

You think he should play midfield for Manchester United because he can run a bit? That's insane.

He's shown nothing to suggest he can play midfield at that level.
He's extremely athletic, great at winning the ball, can pass the ball decent. What else do you want from your DM? Positioning/decision making comes from experience.

Matic gives you slighty better passing & height, though most of his passes are still basic up the field passes. Not like he does crazy long balls. Instead he's much worse at covering space & protecting our CBs especially if we lose the ball & Herrera is upfield. Matic is so easy to play around it's a joke.

Our team should be built on letting Pogba & our 3 attackers unleash without risking too much going the other way. Right now because of Matic's lack of mobility we give up too many chances, & his benefit to creating chances is minimal. Play him at home against the weaker sides to control the game more when opponents park the bus, but anything else probably worth going with TFM or buying someone else.

Some tactical discipline, positional sense, composure, proper tackling technique, vision, a decent range of passing.....

So you want to replace Matic, one of the best DM"s in the premier league with a kid that didn't make it at 2 bang average clubs?

The guy is exactly the Lukaku story, but just at right-back. Big guy, athletic but with no football brain. (don't turn this into a racist post thanks)

I actually think CB will be the position that will get the most out of him (maybe not at United, I'm talking generally about his career).

Vision and a decent range of passing aren't necessary as Kante shows. Wanting TFM to be a DM doesn't mean he should be the primary DM if he does make it. I'm with you that I want someone like you described. It doesn't hurt to have a destroyer in the squad though.

I agree. He's not calm or good enough with the ball for a CM. Lacks positional awareness as well imo. As a right back is he not good enough going forward. Can't really cross either, and lack skills like dribbling. But as a CB I feel he can be something. He's strong in the tackle, strong overall. He's a fast and big lad. If he can develop some calmness and work a bit on his heading, then he's gonna be a good cb. Maybe even more than good.

He could be the next Bailly! Red cards for all! On a serious note though, I think we'd be better off placing our faith in Tuanzebe for CB. He's already calm and a decent header.

It's not a race. We can place our faith in both. Tuanzebe does have to work on his heading too though. And to be tougher.

Except we can't fit both in at the same time. And right now, Tuanzebe deserves it more having played well so far.

I remember when he played as a left back but literally shielded the whole defence. Makes me wonder if he can do that as a defensive midfielder. His whole purpose is to retain possession from the opposititon and play the short pass to the attacker.

he should go to Holland and play there. It is not possible for the continental players to come to UK and make an impact especially when they are young. He was a Dutch International and can play in Holland.

And why is that? There are two spots for centre-backs and they don't even have to play all the time either. Nonsense.

He isn't good enough for us unfortunately.

He's not a midfielder, he's not got any end product, he can tackle but that's mainly down to his physical attributes.

If he didn't stand out at CP or Fulham why would he get first team here?.

we need to sell him with a buy back clause IMO.

Are you seriously suggesting we should sell Rojo and Jones and replace them both with two inexperienced youngsters who are not yet proven to be PL worthy let alone United worthy, while our defence is already a shambles? Wow, am I glad you're not in charge of the club. We're already struggling for top 4 as it is! No, we need a top class CB, a leader.

Yet another massively hyped player to come out the academy and not be good enough for the likes of Fulham and Palace let alone here. I love seeing academy players come through but I wish, especially on here there was a little more objectivity with regards to these players.

You are putting very much words in my mouth. I do think that Tuanzebe is ready to play a part in United's defence, yes. With that said, I do want a new and experienced CB. And yes, I would replace Jones and Rojo with Tuanzebe and TFM. Tuanzebe is better than Rojo as well. Add the fact that Rojo is never available, and the same goes for Jones. If I were in charge:

Toby, Lindelöf, Tuanzebe, Smalling, TFM

Its not as clear cut as you think. He could still make it here as a squad player and maybe more.

Incredible how some overrate our youngsters, he hasn’t been able to earn a place in Crystal Palace nor Fulham (who are shit btw) and still people here are asking for a chance for him at United.

Lets not waste time with him, if we was good enough he should has show it by now.

So you don't think players would have difficulties performing at shit clubs? Look what happened to us under Mourinho. Pogba looks like a whole different player. How do you know how TFM would perform under Ole?

You seem to be suggesting that you want to keep Rojo and Jones at the club. Both need to be moved on as at best, they can only serve as a cover until their next inevitable injury (the amount of games they have played in the last few seasons is shocking).

I'd much rather their rotation role be filled by TFM and Tunzebe who currently have the greater potential, with TFM also able to cover other positions in the team

Here, there, everywhere...
Don't know where the hype came from. I am guessing initially everyone was high on him due to Van Gaal and the Dutch connection. Never looked more than a physically developed young athlete. I am surprised people think he can be a DM when his passing & tackling skills are ordinary. Getting us $5m-$10m would be his biggest contribution to the club.

I think is harder for a offensive player to shine in a shitty team, but easier for a defensive player.

Pogba had good and bad games, but you can see the class. Insane comparing Pogba an TFM.

TFM has proved nothing here, nothing in Crystal Palace and nothing in Fulham. He isnt even playing at the moment, I think it’s a good reference, if he cant earn a place there he wont earn a place here for sure.

I'm really not. Rojo should be flogged asap. I'd rather have Jones as cover than TFM though. Jones, right now, is simply better. He has the odd brainfart but they're nothing compared to those of TFM. Tuanzebe could fill the "void" left by Rojo. Ideally we would also sell Jones and replace him with someone like Koulibaly or Manolas but that doesn't seem to be happening.

This place is mental.

Hasn't finished a full 90' in the league since October. Was out of favour at Crystal Palace last season and dumped by Fulham this season (a team with the worst defense in the league), and people want him back as one of our CB options? Mental.

A bit harsh to say he was out of favour at Crystal Palace. He was their first choice rightback for most of the season until they played us and he wasn't allowed to play. That meant Wan-Bissaka got an opportunity and he played very well, then of course they would continue to favour their own player. Wan-Bissaka has gone on to be one of their best players and probably the best young rightback in the league.

I agree with you that it's highly doubtful that he'll be good enough for us, but that just seemed a bit harsh.

He can still become a good player and there’s a tiny chance he’ll make it here, but I doubt it. He’s definitely not good enough right now so he should be loaned out to a club where he’ll play regularly. He did at some point in Crystal Palace, so with the right surroundings I think he’s good enough for the Premier League. If not, maybe a loan back to the Netherlands? Or actually, selling him with a buy-back clause sounds like the best option to me.

I agree that Jones is currently better than TFM. But we may differ as my stance is to give rotation options to youth players with grater potential, while I also have significant concerns about the reliability of Jones

Agree with you on Tunzebe for Rojo. Out of the two youngsters, I currently see Tunzebe as the better prospect for CB. TFM may be destined for the DM role. I don't think either are RBs though, other than emergency cover

I would agree with you if our senior players were good enough and reliable enough. But they're not. We would likely end up with no other option than to play our youngsters. I think it would be a good move to recall TFM (Ranieri said he can go anyway) and loan him out to a different club. Needs more opportunities. If he does well the rest of the season then maybe we'd consider adding him to our first team next season but for now he hasn't done enough to justify that. The fact that we don't even know his best position yet backs that up.

It's not harsh. Whatever way you want to paint it he was dropped, and not in favour of a senior player, but for someone of his age, who had played barely featured for the first team. Palace were struggling to keep their heads above the relegation zone at the time, so they weren't afforded the opportunity to select Wan-Bissaka for development reasons, they selected him because he was the better option.

It is. While he is still young and could get better, how is that going to happen when he hardly plays?.

I admire your dedication to our players but it's not realistic. He's not getting football for Fulham, they should be desperate for a man united defender.

He needs to move back to Holland / Germany and play regularly every week for a few years, then we can see if he's improved.

Yep we (and Holland) needs to stop moving him around just because he's strong and pacey. After a few years it became clear cut that he's not quite there as a regular fullback.

I don't know, I still think of him as a DM, or even box to box but he's a bit weaker offensively. However, I cannot forget some of the games where his defending positioning was amazing and he saved United several times, coupled with his athletic capabilities, I would not write him off. For me, is Ole sees him, he might see a future for TFM.

Plus he's from the Dutch footballing school, his fundamental technique is not that shitty. If Fulham sends him back, we should use him, Dutch total football is more in line with the current United.

But TFM played all the games until that United game. It's not like he didn't play or perform, they used him, regularly, but now they found someone from their club, they want to use him, and they are trying to loan someone else in another position.
