Playing attacking football combined with no more toxicity and our financial prowess, should prove enough to boost our chances in making us a desirable destination for top tier talent alright, but there should also be a good degree of success as well.

Depending on how Ole does by the end of the season, or whoevers in charge after it, we are probably very attractive. Moreso if we are in the Champions League.

- Young Coach with attacking style, modern man management skills and someone whos relatable to players, has something to show for it and for Ole long list of player achievements
- Big name players that are known to have 'fun' and energetic personalities, and some of the best in their position on their day (DDG, eventually Martial, Pogba and yes... Lukaku on form)
- Legacy and Name of Man Utd, as well as the massive brand
- Idea to get Man Utd up to scratch and put your names in the legacy of the club by being part of our resurgence in the league or bigger competitions

This. Anyone who thinks otherwise is too caught up in the short term. United have been worse than this in the past and still attracted the top talent.
It's like wondering whether Barca or Bayern are going to struggle to attract players. Short of a catastrophic decade, it's not going to happen
If Ole gets going he is going to make a name for himself. Just like Poch is making a name for himself at Spurs without winning anything. Ole if he makes for himself at United is going to be bigger than Poch at Spurs. Simple.
Our name, our history, our money...that all puts us up there. But to get us above others at the top we need to have the right style of play and current manager and players to give top players the belief that they'll enjoy themselves here.
This is actually where Pogba is quite important. If he's here enjoying himself and doing his thing, he gives us that 'cool' and exciting factor that gets players interested. Just like how we and, to a lesser extent, the premier league as a whole became more attractive to young latino players when Ronaldo was here. Plus Pogba seems quite happy to go out and tap players up for us.

Assuming Ole remains our permanent manager, much depends on how much progress have elite talent like Pogba, Martial and Sanchez have made under him. If they thrive, new big name players will have no qualms of playing under him.
We anyway have been paying above market rates for wages. The only remaining question is if Manchester United is a good bet to win trophies and that's a big question mark in my opinion given the rise of City and now Liverpool.

Load of cack, signed Pogba without it and you sell the club to the player as a project. On top of that we pay massive wages, so yes United are a very appealing club. Steeped in history, fantastic stadium with excellent match going fans.
Money is always appealing.
Most players today don't give a flying feck about a club or its history. Sure boyhood fans might dream of playing for a historically significant club, but at the end of the day the vast majority don't care if the badge says Manchester United, or LA Galaxy. What they care about is how many 0's are on the end of their pay check. Money draws the talent, and talent creates the competition. If tomorrow MLS started paying the most money, and buying the best players, it wouldn't be long until MLS is the most prestigious league etc.
It's money at the end of the day for the largest number of players.
That would explain why China has the best league in the world then...
China has limits on number of foreign players and many of the teams there have already used up those limits.
You can't deny a decent amount of top talent has already gone there. The other post might have been extreme, but if China relaxed their numbers it could be a very different story.
The other factor playing against China is the development of their economy, because whilst there are rich pockets there are still plenty of places that not many would want to live. The US is far more developed even if there are still poorer underdeveloped areas.
If be very surprised given the competing sports if football ever received the premium required in the US to compete for top players so it's a moot point anyway.
It’s the other way around surely. The wages are the carrot and the real driving force, ‘project’ is just a buzzword you throw in with the press release, to keep the saps happy.
I agree on the main point though, which is that “CL football” isn’t nearly as important as made out to be.

It isn't how attractive we are as a club that we need to worry about the most. Its scouting - finding the players before they become superstars. Be it at youth level or those players that are emerging into special talents at a later age. So much of our history was built on our ability to do this well and we have fallen behind some of our peers in this respect
