His days in Real appear numbered, he's turning out to be a frequent crock and instead of filling the Ronaldo void, he's turning into unreliable and overpaid. He turns 30 before the start of next season.

Real would probably like to use him in a swap deal for Hazard or Eriksen but Chelsea are far too smart for that and Spurs can't afford his wages without throwing a lot of other contract extensions they are currently negotiating in disarray.

Bayern could be an interesting possibility and hopefully Ed is smart enough to keep his wallet in his pants on this one.

Return to the Planet of the Apes remastered? Finally being recognised as the missing link in the theory of evolution? Hair transplant?

Sky's the limit.

His gross pay is something like £600k a week. As long as it isn't here, don't care where he ends up.

Unless he agree a massive pay cut, he would rather see out his contract i guess?
Think so. Don't see anyone paying him more than 50% of what he's on and even that'd be quite a stretch

You'd think so. And it's not as if he hasn't achieved a lot already and he'll be desperate to move on and make a name elsewhere.

He's just going to be a moments player for the rest of career baring a remarkable turn around in fortunes regarding injuries.

He could hit the vaudeville circuit billed as the 'Welsh Wonder of the World' '4 times World Champion'. He could race an elderly whippet for his act. There must be some money in that.

Every season is the same: half the time he is crocked.

Real really missed an opportunity there to flog him to us and save a ton of money.

Ship has firmly sailed there.

They will probably have to subsidise his wages to move him on now.

The answer would usually be PSG but with their FFP issues I'm guessing not. The wages he's on mean they'll find him very difficult to shift, I just hope we are not interested.

Why the heck would PSG want a crock on whatever wages

Bale is an old crock now. Couple of years back, he was getting injured, but had good hype, for whatever reasons. Now he is no longer looking a shiny new toy.
He still has brand hype though, it's like us with Sanchez, the business men at these clubs look past the decline at times.

I don't really understand why he would have that hype though. In case of South Americans playing in a big league like PL or La Liga, there will be some great hype still over there. But I somehow do not view people in UK falling into that kind of hype over a player in decline.
I am not sure how brand hypes work. So I might be horribly wrong.

Honestly can't see anyone taking him. Glad that Mourinho's flirting with him didn't lead to him joining us.

He's only worthwhile if you already have a world beating squad and he can be the cherry that occasionally finishes off the cake.

£15m it seems after a quick google.

Spanish media have nicknamed him ‘Mr Glass’.
 Love a good Spanish nickname with Mister in it. One of my mates moved to Spain (from Ireland) and now our name for him is Senor Botella de leche (Mr. Milk bottle) because he's the whitest man in Madrid. Mind you it sounds much better in Spanish.

Repeatedly failing to sign this guy = the greatest piece of business Woody has ever done.
