Never thought 4th could be possible. It is now. It might not be Chelsea we are looking to overtake, but spurs. Kane and sissoko injured

....and Solskjaer has won it!
A few weeks ago Spurs and Chelsea were nailed on for a top four place, with the former chasing a title. Now they know that we're coming at them the pressure is on. Meanwhile we are playing with freedom and without fear.

Other than Pogba Man Utd dont have a critical player whose absence would derail the campaign. So thats good for you guys that everyone seems to have improved the performances!

What Chelsea and Arsenal do winter transfer window-wise will also prove to be critical for Utd to catch up and stay up. I really hope Spurs for once have a prolonged difficult spell.

Yes we have clawed our way back into conversation for top 4 but till now it was a long shot and we had not much to lose but now we are in with a real shout, so team now have to deal with pressure of expectations as well let's hope they continue to perform because team above us barring Liverpool and City are certainly vulnerable.

Spurs are very much in this now.. They are just 1 point ahead of Chelsea.. If we think we can catch Chelsea, Spurs should be within range too..
Solskjaer was talking about catching Spurs in his pre and post match interviews. All are in the mix now.

Hook set, drag adjusted, now we reel them in. Our target should be third, anything else is a bonus. That’s the United Way
Actually, the United way is first

True. We must go for a win and if not a win at least a draw. If we win then we are level on points with Arsenal. It has to be match by match. I do not think beating Spurs is such a huge hurdle. Trust me they would be worried about us too. Especially the way we have been playing. No defence is going to love to see Martial and Rashford running at them. The pace alone is scary enough.
What Ole must do is not play Mata tomorrow against Spurs.
Wow, you predicted this game so accurately!

If Solskjaer gets us into top 4 playing like this, we should forget about Poch or anybody else. This man just gets the club.

Somewhere they can't find me.
One game at a time. No one expected us clawing back so many points in such a short time, now it's squeaky bum time for Chelsea and Spurs. For us it's a free hit, considering how we were down and out a few weeks back. The football alone is enough to bring back the happiness, top 4 would be a bonus.

Let's be realistic and not get carried away, we are very unlikely to catch spurs, nomattter what the result is at Wembley, the target is to finish above Chelsea and Arsenal. Let's not get too carried away.
Son is at the Asian cup for a few weeks and Kane is most definitely out for a while, hard to see where their goals are going to come from. Absolutely catchable.

If we can win each game up until Liverpool then it is game on. No reason at all why we should and certainly no reason why the team shouldn't roll into each game in between now and Liverpool thinking they can't win each match.

Red Card for Casemiro!
Chelsea are getting a new striker and Spurs have shown they can survive injury ridden spells. We need a CB to compete top 4, there is no other way around it.

Good time to quote me! I’ve come round to a different way of thinking. You are right, with Kane and Son, in addition to the realisation they are not in a title race could mean they have a bad couple of weeks.

We have caught Arsenal, and fully expect to overtake them, if we don’t then we don’t deserve anything.

We might not catch spurs - but now we have 2 clubs to aim for, and we only need to catch one.

Certainty didn’t think we would be in this position a few weeks back.

I mean if you think about it, it's only 13 points off Liverpool as we are going to beat them at Old Trafford.

It's on!

3rd is a very realistic target now.

Arsenal are back to their old inconsistency, with a wealth of problems in defence and midfield. Honeymoon period is also over for Chelsea with the norm to play their best players out of position (Hazard and Kante) while they lack their usual big goalscorer.

I thought Spurs could be outside challengers, but the loss of Kane to injury and the temporary international loss of Son will be a big blow, as will Sissoko to a lesser extent.

Let's focus on one place at a time, but we are in a good position to catch 3/5 of the Big 6

I don’t think 3rd is a realistic target - that means catching two good teams, both of whom have to go through a period of bad form. We just need to catch one, but it gives us twice the chance now.

No real difference between 3rd and 4th - the important thing is to get the CL next season.

It's does make you think all the stupid points Mourhino made us drop, Brighton, Wolves, Palace, Westham.
Makes my blood boil the more and more I think about it.

On the 1st para, I would have said the same a couple of weeks back, but Chelsea are not as good as I expected, while these new injuries will reallly hurt spurs

I'm more interested in the cups to be honest, but winning breeds winning

You can bet your left nut (if you have one) that Ole will be looking at high up that table as mathematically possible.

He wants this job.

We'll probably get embarassed by PSG to bring us back to reality a bit, but right now, we feel absolutely magic. There is a drive and hunger on the pitch, a steely will to succeed and I can smell the fear on the oppo fans again. It's great. Hopefully that fear of facing Manchester United will be back on the pitch too. It might be stupidly optimistic, but i'd back us against anyone right now and I love feeling stupidly optimistic again.

We should just go all out and sign a commanding centre half and right winger in this window. We’d definitely have a sniff at finishing 3rd.

I assumed the Spurs match would do this. No doubting that the run of games Ole had up til this point were games we should have won but Spurs away was the first real test. We definitely held on in the second half but at the same time Pogba had a couple of chances to put us two up so i would say that we were still well in the mix throughout. So not so much a smash and grab as riding our luck at times. I'm impressed but I think Ole will need to be judged on how he fares against City, Liverpool and PSG to see if he is a serious candidate for the job full time.

Spurs are heavy favourites and understandably so given their attack and how dodgy our defence has been even under Ole.
Last I checked, it was 0 goals conceded from open play. It needed a bit (read massive) help from DDG - but he is a part of the defence - isn't he?

Only his 4th clean sheet in the PL this season. And to be fair traditionally wouldn't class De Gea as part of the defence per se, as he isn't a defender.

It is also funny how everyone is focusing on that 4th place while we are still in THIS years champions league with awesome games ahead and a chance to win.

PSG are the perennial erectile dysfunction team of the CL. On paper an attack of Neymar, Cavani and the golden boy should tear our defense apart, but you never can tell in football, especially with how things have been going since Ole came in. Wouldn’t be surprised if we pull out a result against them.

What we need to do is get Phil Jones to warm up near the PSG attackers on the pitch. Then let nature take it's course. Hopefully at some point he'll plant his full body weight face first into Neymars ankle after tripping up over Cavani and Mbappe injuring them both in the process too.
