Might get hate for this, but I'd trade Pogba for say, Coutinho + Dembele as of right now. Don't quote me five months from now.

Would only do it for players.

Saying that the only players I’d take in world football over him is Messi and Mbappe.

I haven't watched any La Liga all season so this might be total bollocks, but aren't they both really struggling at the moment?

Dembele has looked class quite often this season.

Thats a no brainer for me. As talented as Pogba is, Keane was Fergusons most important player imo. Football is so much more than talent on the ball. Not that Keane wasn't talented, he was, but his personality and attitude would ensure, that the whole team gave their all every time leading by example. What's that worth? Perfect captain.
Keane dictated the game....he was an unbelievable footballer, he was the tempo of the game at the highest level. He decided. No one else and for three years, every single performance was world class.

And send Aubameyang, Ozil or whatever other player we would have wanted with him. You know, those buy one, get one free offers.
Yeah Bogof. Even in terms of market value Pogba is easily worth north of £100m. In that hypothetical Swap deal Arsenal could have signed him for essentially the £25m fee they paid for Torreria and then sold Pogba on for probably £100m profit at least. Probably more, it would be the biggest no brainer ever.

It was nonsense of the highest order, though we've all spouted absolute rubbish on here at one time or another.

Coutinho doesn’t work for Barca who are looking for someone more in the mould of Iniesta. Dembele is starting to find his feet with them but you can’t doubt his talent even when he has a bad game. He will be a significant upgrade on our right wing.

Coutinho is more or less capable of doing what Pogba does for us, that is being a top attacking midfield player.

An acceptable offer for pogba:

250million in cash
50million per year premium on his marketing rights for the duration of the contract
The man united private plane fuelled and staffed for the duration of the contract
All season tickets for Manchester United fans paid in full by the purchasing club
The script for what happened after the last scene of the sopranos
Conclusive proof on who killed Kennedy
The current real time location of DB cooper
A popcorn machine in my apartment building
Better yet, bring us the black box from MH370.

Basically he is not for sale.

I would say no offer would be acceptable for Pogba. He is our best player and we would struggle to replace him. I wouldn't benefit personally from the large sum we would receive plus I dont trust the glazers to replace him adequately. No deal.

Pogba is a our best outfield player, most marketable and is a leader in the dressing room.

I’d want more than what Mbappe went for.

The answer would of course be yes, one of the best midfielders in the world at 25 in exchange for a prospect worth way less is the very definition of a no brainer. Arsenal would think United had lost their fecking minds to even propose that deal.

Honest question mate are you on a wind up?

Between this and the Keane rubbish a few pages back this thread has become a farce.
I wouldn’t waste your time Steve, he’s either on a wum or severely pissed.

I took the opportunity to browse an Arsenal forum to see what the fans thought of Torreira around the middle of December. Judging by the lavish praise he was getting, I'm sure you wouldn't have found many takers there for the swap. I guess, to use a quote from Arsene Wenger, "everyone thinks they have the prettiest wife at home" (he said that when Van Nistlerooy and Henri were being compared).
Fecking hell.

I still got questions mark when it comes to Pogba, but he's over 2nd best player. And we need quality. Selling him would be stupid

Plenty of others we should sell but he's not one. If he decided he wanted to leave, it'd have to be a world record fee the way football is these days.

Excellent, let’s bring two more left sided forwards ;)
Coutinho is an attacking midfielder who plays LCM, like Pogba and would be brought in to replace Pogba in this hypothetical scenario.

Dembele is two-footed and plays right-wing plenty and does well there too. He would instantly solve our right wing issues.

Coutinho is more of a left sided forward. Dembele's 31. We'd be mad to go for that.

Coutinho is more than capable of playing the role Pogba plays for us under Ole. Pogba's starting position might be in the midfield but see his heat maps and he's very much a forward for us.

And Osumane Dembele not Mousa. What I was saying was, I'd swap Pogba with two Barca players. As of right now.

Money's not good enough, because it just means we'll have to pay through our noses until that money is spent. Because everyone will know we have it.

The only reason Barcelona had to pay 150m for Coutinho was the Neymar money. And the only reason Liverpool had to pay 75m for a Southampton player was the Coutinho money.

I'd only accept some insane player swap deal.

Ah I see. Ousmane. He'd be decent on the right.

But replacing Pogba with Coutinho, not for me, Clive.

For my pennethworth, there is no price to take him away. When he hits his form, as he is doing, there aren't many people who could replace him. I wouldn't even entertain Neymar plus massive money over Pogba at the moment. He has stated that he is very happy now and you can see that happiness coming into his game and, no money or player, could take his place in my eyes.

No offer for Pogba would be "acceptable" to me.

Think about it. The man is one of the top three or four midfielders on the planet. He is our talisman. He has returned. How could we possibly upgrade the squad if we gave up Pogba?

Since this is now a hypothetical question, IF we could bring in a young Messi or Ronaldo THEN I'd consider a swap for Pogba. But in the real world, there is no transfer fee worth accepting to compensate for the loss of Pogba.

Think many of the younger posters underestimate just how valuable Keane's presence and his drive were. He was a fkin force of nature.

Nah, not for me. Don't get me wrong, at the moment, Mbappe is possibly the worlds most exciting player at the moment but I wouldn't bring him in for Pogba. Now, alongside Pogba would be something incredible but not as a replacement for Pogba.

Agree. Without Mbappe, we still have Pogba+Rashford. Without Pogba, we have no creativity from midfield.

We really need a technically gifted midfielder with a good engine. I cannot think of anyone fitting this description better than him right now. There are signs that him, Martial and Rashford are in the progress of forming a good understanding between them finally leading to some decent attacking play.
