I used to hate him as a player. Came across as an arrogant prat. He grew on me once he finished playing and became a pundit though. Wonder what he will do now. Back to punditry with his tail between his legs like Neville?
I was lucky enough to have a holiday in the south of France a few years ago and was having a meal in a fantastic restaurant in st tropes ( a friend knew the manager thank god so could afford lunch ! ) we got chatting about football as you do and he was saying about all the footballers that were regulars there every summer , he did’nt have a bad word to say about anyone apart from Henry he said he was the most hateful, ignorant, arrogant customer they ever had the staff hated him as he treated them like sh1t .
Wouldn’t speak to them would literally used to click his fingers at them when he wanted something.Somehow you could just see this in him always felt he looked completely false on Sky Sports.
Good to see he has at last been found out.

He’s always come across as arrogant. Which is probably why he fell out with some of the players.

Where as Zidane despite being a world class player wasn’t arrogant like Henry.

The squad was and is shit. Otherwise a top manager like Jardim wouldn't have been sacked no? What was people expecting Henry to do?

Happens a lot in Italy. They see it is a real profession, not some kind of passion driven thing.
Ah yes, I too am very familiar with this in my real profession, the firing of people and hiring them back shortly thereafter.

For those wondering "suspended (or demoted) from coaching the first team" is because there's a due process in France for firing employees after which the employee has to be fired or restored in his duty, in practice it just means the firing process has started.

Technically it's in Monaco but I imagine it's not too different from France.

Playing attacking football doesn't work for him , is his tactic outdated ? Did he lose the dressing in just 3 months ? Did he failed to get the best of his players ?

Good question, and just shows that it's not as easy or effortless as Ole has made it seem.

From his team selections it's very clear he doesn't really understand football despite being an elite player. Very pleased to see his naive thought process punished.
Can you elaborate please?

This was a great shame, poor Henry.:nono:

After telling us, and paid a lot of money to do so, how to run footy games and criticising players and managers at will, we find he has all the managerial flair of a useless Muppet! Bring him back Sky, such ability needs to be heard!

The Ole situation is nothing like the Monaco one though, you're comparing oranges with nuclear fission. I think the Henry situation has more to do with his relationship with the players. Maybe they're tuning him out, he can be an overbearing presence that won't work with everyone, kind of like Mourinho except without the pedigree or actual coaching credentials.

More along the lines that the new manager bounce is not as automatic as some seem to believe.

I think the more relevant comparison is Giggs replacing Moyes. When Giggs took over, United still looked like crap. It was as if Moyes did not leave.

I was worried the same could have happened to us when we hired Ole. Luckily we hired Ole and not Henry :)

This is a great week for some of the guys who aI have always disliked.

Henry va va boom boom your fired.
Rainbow flick Neymar gets injured.
Eric ‘Hardman’ Dier misses a penalty

Just needs Mo Salah to get a good ‘Ramossing’ for it to be perfect.
As naughty as this is, it still made me laugh.

I wonder if Jardim got his full payout when he left. It would be great if he did and is now collecting a new paycheck.

Giggs looked out of his depth though. Remember we played 4-4-2 in one game with James Wilson starting up front. Knew we were in trouble at that point.

Post-footie career... Henry has always struck me as a little odd, bit too much to say. Being involved in strange adverts with these daft comments throughout.

He was never really comfortable as a pundit.

I couldn't see him as a manager. No surprise really.

Did he lose the dressing room at the time of his sacking? Would be interesting to see how players react to him brought back.

He seems to think a wink and a smile gets you places. He seems very temperamental as well.

Watched a show a few weeks ago, think it was Neville interviewing players and Henry was one. Said that he purposely causes fights with people, even though he was in the wrong, in order for them to argue with him and fire himself up. That might have worked on the pitch but you're doomed as a manager if you do that.

Was that the game we won 3-1 with Wilson scoring twice?

Just Googled it, I was thinking of Norwich but we won that 4-0 and he didn't play . We drew a game and looked pretty shit, can't remember who against now...
Think you confused about 3 of the games.
We drew vs Southampton in his 4 game spell (lost at home to Sunderland too) and Wilson didnt play in any of those two.
But scored 4 and 3 in the other 2 home games.

Also the comments on page 3 of this thread make for some great reading

From what I gather their performance during the week was a proper Metz.

From memory, he started to get frustrated with certain players but I don't think that he lost the dressing room, apparently they like him.

Used to always give chicha shit, that's why I stopped liking him. Remember Henry slating him at Madrid for scoring a goal, just because ronny did all the initial work for it. Gobshite

So according to the reporter that follows Monaco for L'Equipe, Jardim keeps his 8m and will start a new contract worth around 4m per year.

On Henry, he wasn't liked in France and particularly in football. It's going to be far worse now.

If this wasn't serious almost would look a comedy. Since Wednesday some journos close to him here in Portugal were saying he would return even before the Henry suspension.

From almost going to Saudi Arabia or China to return again to the same place, the only thing to finish this in beauty would be to get relegated now. :D

On a serious note, hope Monaco avoid relegation, but the situation looks strange.
