Best back up goalie in England by miiiillles. What an attitude he must have to come in whenever needed and put in fantastic performance after fantastic performance.

He’s such an important squad player for us.

Also love the fact that Ole has gone back to Fergie days by sticking with the reserve goalkeeper even in a big cup tie.
Mourinho played Romero in every Europa League game the year they won it.

If only he hasn’t been injured v Derby we might be heading for Wembley sooner than May, he definitely would have made a better attempt for those Derby Penalties than Grant did.

He looks like he can't be bothered when he makes saves. Or the look of 'did he just shoot at me'

He's definitely better than being a number 2 but happy to have him here

Hopefully we get a lower league team next round

Great save right at the start of the second half. Always looks so composed.

Sure must be between the best 3 number 2 keepers in the world, I don't understand why has he accept such a role for so long but he is great to have as a back up. Long may it continue!

I am never bothered when he plays. He is a very good keeper and we should think of giving him more PL minutes + some CL minutes to keep him.

Probably the best reserve keeper.

He is good enough to be a regular keeper for good clubs. I think he is better than Arsenal's GK.

That save vs Ramsey was just superb. Easily the best #2 in the league and good enough to be starter for most teams in the league.

Still can't believe he's still our backup keeper.

Would start for most PL clubs. Great save from Ramsey's header tonight, at a crucial time.

He's a world cup finalist. I did not get the outcry about him starting yesterday.

I never worry when this man is in goal even though we have DDG as our number 1, a testament to how good Sergio is

I think his previous performance + red card gave people a bit of a worry about him, as he didn't exactly have the best reputation before he joined us.

He was back to the Romero we are used to though with that performance.

Another clean sheet. 27 in 43. 62.8% clean sheet percentage. No one else comes close at United to that figure with more than a handful of clean sheets.

Only plays against shit teams, mind.

Why is he content to use up some of his prime years as a back up?

He is an excellent keeper, could start for a lot of teams in this league.

Looks to me to be on par with Leno, for instance. I'm not sure that currently he is behind Kepa either. Could probably rather easily play for a top 6 team. He is a great goalie, but he just doesn't have that name to him. Also, he is just so cool!:D

To be fair, when no one wanted to sign him, we did.

I would like to think he is giving this back to us for that favor.

Because he plays for Man United. Even 2nd best GK in United is really a honour, something that can make you proud. Well, it's me if I'm in his place.

I"m surprised at how often this gets asked, even now. Obviously he is well respected at the club, he's winning trophies, he's getting game time in the cups and in europe, and most importantly he's happy.

We are actually very lucky to have him. He could be playing week in week out somewhere else.

I would guess decent money, likes the team and especially the other keepers and the keeper coaches. If his position as Argentina's number one was under threat I could maybe see that motivating him to leave. Also for a back up keeper he played big games under Mourinho and Solskjear like Arsenal and Chelsea in the FA Cup and the Europa League including the final, so it shows his managers have always had faith in him.

A reminder that we actually got him for free as he was free agent back then after released from Sampdoria. Maybe this is his gesture of thank you by staying here much longer than everyone expected. Granted, he is reliable back up.

Didn't have much to do but he just fills you with total confidence, I think he is in the top 5 keepers in the league personally.

He's probably improved a lot training everyday alongside the best keeper in the world.

We have the best number 2 keeper in the world besides Navas. Incredible to have him, like many had said before I think he would be a starter in most of the english teams. Seems like a nice guy to and is happy to be in the team, the perfect number 2.

Fecking love our GK situation, Romero is as good as you can get for number 2. Shaw gave him a bad kick in the balls I hope he is fine though.

Can’t believe we got him in a free some of the best business we’ve done in recent times.

He’s more than capable to play first choice for anyone in the league tbh.
