Young players from the 60s and 70s, ( Charlton, Law, Styles, Sommerbee et al) look absolutley ancient compared to young players nowadays, there were no baby faces back then, you looked 40 when you were 20.
I have felt this too, it's likelthe 50s and 60s aged people at an astonishing rate.

Modern day exceptions would be Diego Costa

Peter Crouch has played for every club in the Premier League and will continue to come on off the bench for headers in the box for at least another ten years!

Shaun Wright Phillips was a young talent for most of his career until he joined Chelsea where he became 30 instantly.

He never played again after joining Chelsea.

Corner flags are pointless..... they are just obstacles for corner takers.
The point of corner flags is for that once every 10 years or so when everyone thinks the ball is going out, then it hits the flag and stays in, and there's a mass panic*.

The magic of football. [wipes tear from eye]

*Two players who had stopped, start running again.

Jesse lingard will play for arsenal before he retires.

Media will probably call him and one of the best upcoming talents in the country whilst simultaneously being one of the most experienced players in the squad.

Very true, he’s definitely an Arsenal type of player. He’s also the youngest 26 year old in the world.

Any benefit gained from defenders hiding their arms behind their backs while defending in the penalty area is lost by how it slows dance their overall movement and balance by about 75%.

Oh, and only teams managed by Mourinho seem to actually do it.

Every midtable Serie A team has a token 6'3 Italian goalkeeper who is 27, and bang average.

Constantly at the STD clinic.
Almost every one of those pundit shows are the same with just name/teams changed.

There's one team who are usually good, but now off the track and losing. One team who is crushing everyone. One underdog who are beyond pathetic. One star player ready to take on the world.

Also, press conferences and post match interviews. 99% of them are the exact same. Why can't Journalists ask proper questions. "How did that win feel?" What the feck do you expect them to say?

Ask "what did you say to Pogba at 33rd minute after the winner. I want exact words!"

Mohammed Salah still isn't a world class superstar; instead, he's a good player going through a purple patch. This purple patch is indefinite.

I believe this as well. His all round game isn’t good enough to be considered world class. Loses the ball a lot. Unbelievably good in front of goal though and in the last 3rd generally.

It’s a right of passage for Irish footballers to spend at least some time at Sunderland, either in a playing or managerial capacity.

Yeah, there are three categories of Sunderland players

a) Ireland international
b) ex-United
c) both of the above

Every player in Liverpool’s squad is both hugely overrated and hugely underrated at the same time.

I guess you are right. The only players where there are no discrepancies are Mane, Robertson, TAA, Gomez because everyone agrees they are pretty good, and Lovren and Keita because they have been woeful.

I think all of the players you’ve mention fit into that too. Maybe only Mané is the exception as nobody seems to overrate him but a player with his record and performances deserves more appreciation in my opinion.

When your team is trailing and the game is on the 69th minute, you are calm and still feel that there is plenty of time left. However, as soon as the clock hits 70, there is no time left and panic sets in.

Pogba has scored in every match this season, even under Mourinho. Lukaku on the other hand, hasn't scored a goal since the World Cup.

Only the elite clubs are sponsored by companies that actually exist (at least 50% of which are Emirates Airlines).

Mark Noble has always existed in English football. There has never been a point in time when Mark Noble was not starting in the West Ham midfield and being bang average.

Mark Noble still plays for the England U21s. He has a world record 746 caps, surpassing James Milner who stepped up to the senior team in 2012 at the age of 35.

Mark Noble was once known as Scott Parker. He changed his name in 2011 or 2012.

Mark Nobel has played every minute of every premiership fixture for west ham since 1992 and only ever gets noticed when he scores a peno
