I think he is much better through the middle. The only time he's consistently got to play there, he had the best period of his career. His best performances has come while playing there too.
The problem is its his dancing partners territory.

Looking over my shoulder.
He may not individually be a world beater, but we play better with him in the team. I'd argue that Lingard and Herrera are vital to us keeping momentum and on the front foot. Mata, as much as I love the guy, slows us down. Lingard is actually not that easy to replace.

Below average.. just not good enough. He started good when Ole took over. He scored some goals goals and made some assists but he seems to be back to his normal form which just isnt good enough.

I don't know what the feck to do with him.

When he plays he's mostly invisible and when he doesn't we lack movement at all.

Mystery.

Never a winger . It's no worse than playing Mata there.
Very poor still

Another terrible performance, but sadly I still think he's more useful at his worst than Mata is. It just emphasises how bad our right wing is.

He was terrible today, no quality on the ball and twice he tried something fancy and never even made contact with the ball one of them was just horribly laughable. Still pops up in decent areas gets on the ball but then just fluffs it.

He's a very useful player for us - incredible work rate and movement. We miss it when it's not there.

Just sadly he lacks ability on the ball and ruins quite a few attacks. We'll definitely need to upgrade if we're to challenge for titles, but Lingard like Park will still be a very useful squad member for us.

Looked not on it from the off today. Even if he's having an off game finishing/final third his work rate is usually still there but don't think it was today. Looked knackered.

What I don't like is that he only passes to his 'mates' it seems. Sanchez was completely ignored in the final third. Ole needs to sort it out.

He just doesn't do anything, he keeps going through the middle where we have both Pogba and Sanchez doing the same.

Right side is then completely unbalanced, Young can't beat a man anymore and he just can't be all alone on the right without any help and forward movement.

In the summer we need proper right winger and a right back in his prime.

Hes known for his workrate. Today, he spent the second half prancing and griefing that the ball wasnt played to his feet. Shocking performance from Jesse .He can and has to do better .

Ole doesn't try anyone else there, not Rashford, not Martial and not Sanchez.

I think he's one of the first names on the teamsheet and I'll be pleasantly surprised if we are looking to sign a RW.

Just when you think he's turned a corner, comes back with a series of shit performances

He doesn’t want to be the one on the end of through balls. Prefers to be the one who takes a defender away and doesn’t receive. Flails about when he’s actually the one running through on goal and the ball comes to him.

*this is not just an observation from today’s game and the brilliant pass Matic played to him in the first half. Always been the case with Jesse

For all his running and effort he just can make a useful pass in the final third, he just can't. We're due to improve in the RW, Lingard is a good player but in a club like Man Utd he shouldn't be a starter.

Well he should think twice then because we simply can’t afford Lingard in that role when he’s like this, totally pointless.

Didn't expect anything more, especially when he's the part of the right wing with Ashley Young who also not playing on his natural position.

He is a good squad player, not a top class player though. We need a top RW. His best attribute is off the ball movement, but this game we needed some magic on the ball, which is not something I look for in Lingard.

This, x1 million.

Lingard is a good squad player, but shouldn't be starting every game. Was dreadful today.

Basically this.

Another major difference is that Park complimented some of our “superstar” attackers well with his work rate, selflessness and intelligence. We just don’t have that level attackers at the club at the moment. Here’s hoping Rashford and Martial keep developing.

On his heels too often.

He not offering much if he's not moving or popping up in spaces.

Seems behind every ball passed to him today which ruined numerous of the team's attacks.

He's a good option now but we need a big upgrade in the summer.

True, the amount of shit passes he made was annoying, add Young on top of that and we were non existent on the right. We really need to solve that right hand problem snappish.

Pretty much, he isn't drifting in all the time, whilst Young put a cross in, which ultimately makes our right side useless in attack.

When the team isn't playing well, he'll probably be the first player to look shite. He's a the very definition of a team player.

Good player but his starting status here is flattering to him. He's a very valuable squad player and that's it.

The one thing, the one and only thing that i respected with him is that he knew what he can do and what he can't. Basically " i can run around and play one-twos". Today he tried to play like some skilful winger. Tried to dribble, was selfish in the box and it was awful.
I hope that in the summer we will buy right winger.

Interesting to see some of the comments basically calling him a nothing player. Was expected though. Wasnt a great game for him but last game showed we arent exactly better when hes not playing.

He was not bothered to even try today. At least he used to run around before. Today he could not be arsed at all.
I don't know who was worse today? Lingard or Young.
