Still don't know what he was thinking with that horrendous miss. That doesn't even look like a shot to me.

Anyway forget it and move on. He should always play as a striker though.

I agree, and he name checked Sancho didn't he? I hope he continues to impress in the coming moths and gets the job full time. Thing is I don't trust the morons who are on the board, or whoever makes the decisions on transfers. We've needed a RW for God knows how long, yet we go and buy Fred for 50 milions so he can sit on the bench.
When was this?

Rashford just had a bit of an off game yesterday. Don't think it had anything to do with the position he played in.

When was this?
During the presser when he was talking about our youngsters? I think he mentioned him, about getting game time in Germany.

This is from the MEN site about the presser.
On developing players
A lot of talk about developing players, do you think you need to pay attention to that?

It’s something that you need to pay attention to it’s a v diff gap, the gap from U18s til you get into the first team that gap there with players nowadays get a bit more impatient than before and they want to move earlier but what is the best pathway is a diff one because some teams in the lower leagues don’t play the way you want them to play, we’ve seen some players go to Germany to take the next step, Sancho’s a good example, goes to the Bundesliga then gets int he national team, is a diff one. It’s not easy in the reserves, it’s hard, it’s a very diff way and there are many hours spent finding a pathway.

Unfortunately he has that Rooney syndrome. When he's bad, he's fecking awful.

I would have loved to see him dribble the keeper to finish it. He obviously tried to dink it over and messed up.
It's rarely a good idea to attempt to go past the goalkeeper when he's on the 5 yard line, very little room for a bad touch. Should've hit it with his first touch when Lukaku passed it to him

Bad day at the office for Marcus. Aside from the chances missed, he didn't look as lively or as aggressive as usual. Usually see him far move involved in the game. Can happen.

We need to stop messing around with his position.
This for me too.

I have been a critic of his finishing before but when a player is on form, you should leave them alone and others fit around them. You don't shift him out wide to accommodate our out of form, overweight 'star' striker. You just end up with two bad players instead of one.

Exactly what I had in mind too

His bottom level is still very low. We do not need to play Lukaku up top.

Still don't think finishing necessarily comes 'naturally' for him.

Not sure what was going through his head when he had that chance. Look at the Barnes goal. He smashed it past the keeper.

The finish needed a first time hit, but he went too LVG on it by first having a touch, which further narrowed his angles.

With Rashford I feel that he looks better when he is just doing it on instinct. He still freezes up when he has to much time and then overdo the finish. Going into detail with that specific miss from yesterday I feel he was doing it in a new way and tried some finesse. Really sorry that he got too relaxed about it and that his foot isn't wider. :-) He obviously tried to flip it to the right, over Heaton but lost his concentration just before impact. Don't know if he had a second thought just about then but I liked the way he initially was thinking.. It would have been great to see him score a goal with something extra touchy instead of bonking it in.

He played like a right dick last night. Little things like trying to take a crossfield pass on his toe instead of doing the sensible thing and getting his body in front it (first ten minutes) set the tone in a general performance that bordered on arrogance. Complacency, if we’re being kind.

He’s not a winger ffs. Every time he players out there he’s shite and his runs are wasted.

Magnificent finish. He's becoming what we all thought previously he would be when he emerged on the scene under LVG.

Average game but took his goal really well. He was still far better than any of his partners in attack though. What I like about him is that you can sense danger when he is close to the ball, I just don't have that feeling with anyone else in our attack except for Martial. Even when he takes the ball 30m away from goal he can be dangerous.

He's definitely out of his purple patch. Needs to keep scoring and keep his confidence up.

Ridiculous. That's Pogba into Rashford for the finish how many times under Ole already?

I have both in my fantasy team and they have been delivering

Bad miss on that header but beautiful control and finish on his goal. Luckily he wasn't injured.

He’s missed a few good chances lately but still averaging 0.6 goals a game under Ole which is so impressive really. Can’t wait to see how he does given a full season as our starting striker. If he can find consistency he could score twenty plus league goals in my opinion.
