Or people can have different opinions
I'm not saying that's possible. But your first sentence was a statement of fact not an opinion. Simply saying it's founded on bias so very likely not accurate. I'm pretty sure most people noticed him for good or bad.

Put a poll up if you want. But he was bang average, in my opinion.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Not sure if anyone seen but in Yarm a 22 year old went missing after a night out. And last week hundreds were out searching the area for him. In the end sadly a body was found in the river after days of searching and five people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. I don't really want to go into more details than that because the rest is gossip and speculation and it's an open investigation.

Anyway a friend of the young lad set up a GoFundMe page for his family, Luke Shaw donated £15,000 to it (and he also posted the appeals for the missing lad before the body was found).

https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-news/england-footballer-luke-shaw-donates-15750774

Giving a considerable amount of money to family he's never met and has no link to out of compassion to an awful situation, he's a good lad and his hearts in the right place. Good on him.
Good on him - Shaw always seems like a solid lad to me.

Likeable guy, as with lots of our current players to be honest.

Must have noticed him then if he was bang average:wenger:
I actually don’t remember. Like, I literally can’t remember anything he did. So yeah, I guess there is the possibility he was up and down the left flank like Roberto Carlos. I just think I’d have noticed.

No one actually notice him doing any offensive work the entire game till we come to this thread and find people saying he was superp and post some key passes stats that no one even remember from the entire game, then you start thinking you were watching a different game. Internet is a powerful tool in convincing you that something that didn't happen actually did.

Thought he had an excellent game. Some people are expecting Evra-esque performance from him which is ridiculous. Shaw plays a different role in the team. He is there to provide an outlet to maintain possession and extra cover at the back.

On paper our formation is 4-3-3 but it is asymmetrical. Pogba usually occupies the left flank together with Martial while Matic and Herrera operates in a double pivot. So there isn't really a need for him to attack. On the right side, Young occupies the whole right flank. His role is simple, attack the flank and deliver the cross in, similar to Valencia. It is quite clear to see that Shaw has a more complex role in the team compared to Young. Since the start ot the century, we hardly played two attacking fullbacks in the first XI. There is usually always one who is more defensive than the other.

He's painfully average tbh, but I guess people will say he's good defensively and bring some key passes stats to say he's good for Manchester United fullback and that's it.

Thought he was excellent today, better end product, great control in tight areas and his defending at times and just his ability to anticipate or sniff out danger were brilliant.

Agree, thought he was one of our best players and very solid defensively.

Really just don't know what you expect from him. Very solid in defence and actually created a couple chances as well.

Defended pretty well although he tired badly towards the end which led to the continuous fouls that saw him booked, offered nothing in attack.

Started really well then had a horrible last 15 mins, giving away stupid free-kicks that invited more pressure.

Did well I thought. Goal preventing block in the first half, should have had an assist too.

Had a good game. Should have had an assist. Has a much better understanding with Martial than Sanchez.

After the last few years, it's good to see him putting in a good run of games.

Certainly nowhere near a problem position.

He's absolutely solid. Makes some great interceptions and tackles to save dangerous situations. Good game today.

Was probably one of his best performances for us IMO. Certainly the best that I can remember off the top of my head. Was one of the few who looked very sharp on the ball all game, held on to it well, used it well, supported the attack and had the better of his guy defensively all game too. The worry is the lack of depth there but one thing that's been very noticeable under Solskjaer is just how involved he is in our game. Always up there with Pogba/Matic for the most touches for us in every game.

As long as he's not injured, he got chance to avoid Young's form and upgrade himself further.

Do you like any of our players? Martial, Shaw, Lukaku you're just having a go at everybody.

Shaw was good today. It's young who was the bigger issue.

Never rated him after his injury but hes growing on me.
What i like about his last few games is that he actuallys looks competent in attack now.
He can still do better though but hes growing on me.

Thought he was excellent today.

None of their attackers got the better of him, no surprise the only attack went down Young’s side.

My only issue with Shaw is just how many times he takes cheap yellows because he doesn't want to allow attacks , sooner rather than later one of them will lead to a red . He has already had a suspension this season anyway

Did you have that typed out before the game as from where I'm sitting, I saw him denied an assist by terrible finishing.

He’s a Mourinho fan not a United fan so it’s not surprising.

Thought Shaw was good today.

No, I didn't have it typed, people are so weirdly defensive of individual players, I am guessing you're talking about the header Rashford missed early doors?

I am not being defensive, he created a chance so that defeats your statement of "offered nothing in attack".

Obviously his attacking play is not of the required united quality and should improve but that doesn't mean we should be hyperbolic about it.

One cross in 90 minutes is offering next to nothing in attack, so ok then, I could have added a couple of extra words in but it seems like you're trying to pick a petty argument, I've praised Shaw defensively after most games, but his offensive contribution is largely poor, there's nothing hyperbolic about it, I'm not even one of those desperate for us to sign a new LB in the summer, I just think he is what he is, a limited fullback who functions well enough due to the 2 players ahead of him on his side needing more defensive cover than attacking help.

Thought it was one of his better games today, but he definitely needs to be more involved attacking wise. Defensively he is not half bad, there is a reason teams attack us all the time our right side so he doesn't have to do much defensive work, and that's probably because he is doing his job pretty well.
