Funny thing is, No one seems to give a shit Eden, at least with Griezmann everyone knew we were after him, so his ego inflating exercise was somewhat relevant.

He's been smashed week in, week out by his current manager. No wonder he's piping up all of a sudden.
Hes not piping up all the sudden. Hes been flashing his arse at madrid for years. Yet theyve not put a single bid in.

He'll always be a Tier 2/3 player for me. He'll never be anywhere near the level of the upper echelons of wingers.

The talent is there but his mentality is soft as shit and his attitude reeks of horse dung.

This! He’s looking for attention. He’s staying put. Madrid don’t want him. I’m inclined to think he’s too good to go and play in the French league again.
If you know what you are gonna do, announce it. If you don't wanna announce it, then there is no point saying you know what you are gonna do.

If he was going to Madrid I think we'd know about it by now, I reckon he's staying.

It's better for Chelsea if he went. Or he wouldnt be missed desperately. Too individualistic to play in Sarris system.

Obviously. He and his agent keep giving feelers in the media as if Real wants him. They never did I think.
The media laps it up and comes up with stuff like "Real Madrid target Hazard said this"

I don't understand the level of criticism he gets - probably the best player in the league for me. The main criticism he gets is that he's not on Ronaldo or Messi's level...who is?

Shame if he's staying for United, think Chelsea would be average without him.

Telegraph reporting he's going to tell Chelsea he wants to leave for Real Madrid.
What they actually say they know is that he hasn't told the club anything new, about his contract or anything else...

The rest of the article is speculation / click bait.

He's a great player and has kept Chelsea competitive the last couple of seasons without a decent striker but he is capable of more than his current output.

He has the potential to be if not on par, certainly close to the levels of Messi and Ronaldo (not sustained of course) but he just doesn't do enough and goes missing far too often when he can't be arsed. He won't be able to hide at a club like Madrid who will expect way more from him every game. He's setting himself up for a big fall, if Madrid are even remotely interested in a part time £100m player, which I very much doubt.

He'll end up at PSG.

I reckon the opposite is true. If he were staying why not let the club, fans and the world know? He’s not saying he’s going yet because he doesn’t want to be booed by the fans for the remainder of the season.

Either possibility is entirely plausible, I'm just sceptical that Madrid can do a transfer quietly, it's always a media circus where they're involved.

Anyone saying Chelsea should ‘get rid’ because he’s playing such games with the media needs their heads checked. That’s ridiculous emotional logic. The ONLY reasons Chelsea should get rid of Hazard is if he really wants to leave and/or someone offers an astronomical amount of money for him. Him being cryptic with the media as to his intentions is no reason to shop your best player (by a considerable distance).

The key here is Matt Law saying talks have not progressed. If they haven't and he's made a decision, he's likely off. Hope he fecks off.

What an arrogant bastard. I remember the things he said before he signed for Chelsea when United and City were in for him.

What a dick, completely disrespecting Chelsea for what feels like years. Some times it's just not worth keeping a player regardless of how good they are.
Such naive thinking.

The only player that makes Chelsea tick. They're pretty flecked without him next season. Can see them going in for sancho and someone else now.

Sancho will cost more than Hazard, no chance after buying Pulisic from BvB

If they lose him, they will replace him with someone half as good and pay a massive price. Chelsea will be weakened, unless they go all out and spend the money and strengthen on multiple positions without compromises. I doubt it.

It’s a weird one, he has all the natural talent to consistent be a top 10, top 15 player in the world (which he is), but he’s never applied himself further. I just don’t think he had or has the mentality to be the greatest. Quotes like this show it, for instance;

He’s happy being one of the best rather than the very best. Fair enough, really. He’ll be remembered extremely favourable in history; Belgium’s best ever player, a top 5 Chelsea player, and a phenomenon during his time at Lille.
Probably goes against the grain on here that footballers should just be robots, mindlessly churning out performances and have no desire but to win trophies and be the best player in the world, but I really don’t see anything wrong with his quote.

The guy is a fantastic player, he’s already won league titles and such, he’s set up for life in terms of money and will be remembered as one of the greatest players in the history of his country. If he’s satisfied with that, and doesn’t care to be remembered as the GOAT, doesn’t cade for a Balon dor, doesn’t need to be the best player in the world to feel satisfied, what’s wrong with that?

This post isn’t aimed at you specifically, since your post was reasonable, but if the man is happy being one of the best footballers around, being a father etc, then I really fail to see anything wrong with that.

Reads to me as if he's off. If he was staying, it would be easy to just say that.

He would be a huge loss to Chelsea. He absolutely carries the attacking element of their team. To replace him, you don't just replace the player but the entire way the team attacks.

I think Real would be a great move for him. It could easily push him to step up to the next level. He has the talent.

He may want Madrid but do Madrid want him. He’s never developed into the player everyone thought, IMO.
