That's absolutely impressive work by Ole. The way the players look calm and enjoying their selves on the pitch since he came, my God haven't seen that since SAF. Ole now IMO biggest candidate for the job.

Good review of match. However, I think you mean Ronaldo against Fulham in 07/08. It was against Fulham and it was second goal as well and it was a great solo run. However, whenever I see Martial run full on against teams, he reminds me so much of Thierry Henry .
Definitely similar to the Ronaldo one, but also reminded me of the RVN one;

To be fair to Ole, hie team selection has been good. Rested some key players. Smalling, though not completely faultless, has been a masterstroke. Has had Mitrovic in his pocket. Shaw has played a very good match too.

Nice win that also makes a mockery of the numpties who were bricking it about a few team changes.

Perfect day out wasn't it? Aside from Dalot and Lukaku who struggled, all starters were on the money. Successfully rested players. Took off others needing rest at the right time. 3 goals. Clean sheet. Couldn't have gone much better really. Tell me how good does it feel...

Resist the urge to hack away at some of our players today. True, we spent and spend a fortune on Mata, Lukaku and Sanchez bytbthryre sll squad players for us now and as squad players they all put in decent performances. Of course we should expect more from them but on a day we strolled to to 0-3 win it’s a bit harsh to demand more than they gave us.

A solid win today which tees up high expectations for PSG on Tuesday.

After a shaky start it was completely dominant performance. Martial Pogba Herrera Matic Jones Smalling Shaw and De Gea all had a very good game. Mata Lukaku and Dalot were the weak links. If Lingard and Rashford had have played we might have had a couple more goals. Sanchez fecked up when he only had the goalie to beat, when he got on. A fast RW and this team could challenge for the Premiership next year, under Ole.

Am I the only one that thinks of this whenecer that Ince pic comes up?

Ince like Parker is a cnut. The fact they were sold by Utd as we had better options has rankled with them all these years. Get over it!

Would've been nice to put 5/6 past them because they were there for the taking but I suppose we rightfully took our foot off the gas in preparation for midweek.

Martial will be an absolute beast if he discovers the selfishness that brought him his goal and uses it more often. Part of me loves that he runs at defenders then looks to slip in a fellow attacker once he's drawn them in but sometimes I just wanna see him shoot or dribble past them like he did when he scored.

Pogba was beyond outstanding, as was Herrera and Matic. Defenders played well and shut Mitrovic down completely whereas I bet over the past few years he'd have bullied them. Dalot was making me laugh with how good his stepovers were going forward too.

They had a few chances early on and looked threatening but we settled down and they never really had a sniff after that. Always seemed like we had a player to pass to and we always seemed to win 50/50's and the next second we were on the attack and it was great to watch.

So good right now.

Thanks.

My first game at Old Trafford, sat there in the South Stand wearing a shirt with his name on the back and he scores not only a hat-trick but that goal. Ruud.:drool::drool:

We could have easily had a couple more as well. Lukaku and Sanchez just seem really low on confidence. I just don't see anything in lukaku at this moment in time. He's shown not much at all in the chances he gets and I'd rather us get rid of him.

Was worried to see so many changes, but we gave a solid performance.

When OGS took over, I said I would be glad to have the attacking football back, but top 4 is likely out of the question. He only took 2 months to prove me wrong.

You mean 2006/07. 07/08 Ronaldo didn’t score at Fulham, Hargreaves, Park and an own goal gave us a 3-0 win

Martials reaction when Herrera grabs him to celebrate is like “who the hell is grabbing my neck right now” then he sees it’s Herrera and he yells in celebration

So, yeah, as I’ve said a few times, I didn’t think we were great today. Finishing was the main difference between the two sides as xG reveals. Football is such a high variance game when you can win this match 3-0 but draw 2-2 against Burnley with a far more convincing performance.

Martial and Pogba were both playing with a confidence bordering on arrogance, and I don’t think that’s a bad thing from your two best attacking players.

We did not look tired after 70 minutes. Played well in rhythm throughout the match. Earlier players used to waste a lot of energy early on. But looks like Ole and his team worked on that and today players smartly conserved energy till the end.

I feel that a bunch of us had watched that Cristiano goal against Fulham multiple times in the build up to this game. I was thinking to myself that I would like to see Martial be that direct and quick with his fullback demolition. Well feck me! Surreal how history keeps repeating it self with United

Some of my thoughts during the match...

- Pogba is so fun to watch. Behind Messi, IMO he is the most fun player to watch in football and he will only get better. It boggles my mind that Mourinho didn't think build a team around him. By summer, I would bet he would be the most expensive transfer in the world. He is ours, though.

- Martial had a good match with a goal and assist. However, he is just one of those players that surprises me when he creates an opportunity because I just expect him to lose the ball on the dribble, get his pass intercepted, over hit a cross, or let a defender nick a ball from him. If his decision making can improve he could be a top 10/20 player in the world.

- I haven't looked forward this much to a United CL match in a long, long time. Can't wait for Tuesday.

- Thank you OGS for bringing the joy back in United football.

This goal and martial Goal. Damn! I find so many similarities. I guess, Ronaldo's goal was still better as he took on 4 players and that too under so much pressure and game of such importance but still......

No he meant Ruud. Rvn also scored a solo goal against Fulham, dribbling half the pitch.

Quality performance all round! As graham sourness would say, in defence, midfield and attack
Fulham have been better in recent games and I thought they fought hard for things and even looked better in the first 10 mins but we shut them down and then controlled the game completely.

I reckon we could have conceded in the first 10 minutes under Mourinho.

Shaw was excellent. As was Herrera.
And the two center halves were brilliant.

Maybe we don’t need any signings :p:devil:

Pretty easy game tbh, although Fulham had a couple of decent chances but we always looked like we had it under control.

I feel that we couldve scored more and boosted our goal difference but perhaps thats a bit greedy with the games we have coming up. Thought Pogba couldve been rested in the second half.

Lukaku pretty meh again. Also, that Sanchez chance..

How wonderful it is to have those routine (even boring at stretches) away wins, without conceding, back? Missed those days where we had to dig for reasons to complain.

Just out of curiosity- are Fred and pereira injured? I would have liked to see matic and/or Herrera subbed but we did not have any CM on the bench after mctominay. If they were available, then poor planning by the coaching staff.

Missed the first half an hour and it was over by the time I turned it on. Fulham look completely gone.

Pogba's the best player in the league at the moment, no question. He, Rashford and Martial could be another of United's golden trinities if they stay together.

On a side note does anyone know any sites where I can watch the full match back? Wouldn't mind watching that first 30 minutes, sounds like we were pretty good!
