Top performance for any other keeper in the league.

For Utd fans and De Gea? Just another day in the office.

Fecking brilliant.

Remember when people criticised him for saving shots with his feet or for using 'the other hand'? Good times

It will be our best ever news if HIM agreed to renew his contract. Hope Ed doesn't feck this one up and give him whatever he asks for. I'd pay cut Sanchez for DDG.

Looking over my shoulder.

Wasn't there even a thread discussing saving with the wrong hand? People believed reach was worse, and there was even talk about style, I think. Laughed my arse off.

As for saving with his feet, Erik Thorstvedt said that when he learnt his trade, that was a big no no,which was complete BS as he said. You react faster, so you save more.

As for his performance today: stoic. If not for one bad thow, it was almost perfect. Distribution seems improved. He looks for options right and left, near and far.

Of course you would, but won't happen like that my friend.

That save off the freekick of Ghezzal was top class positioning. The free kick was virtually perfect and yet DDG made it look like a routine save.

He’s setting new standards for goal keeping especially position, anticipation, agility and use of feet. His coolness is spine chilling. His saves against Spurs nd Leicester were amazing, like Schmeics in the treble season.

He deserves a double figure of clean sheets.

Hopefully we will get it this season.

Red Card for Casemiro!
He will be our key player through the whole of February, along with Pogba. Expecting some more worldies in the next 6/7 games.

Also, give him whatever the feck he wants to sign a new contract. It's disrespectful to even negotiate, in my opinion.

It was never in doubt that he would get back to top form. He really feels at home in a United shirt and that's what makes me doubt he'd ever leave. For some reason (could it be that he is one of the few that doesn't play in La Liga?) he doesn't seem comfortable when he is playing for Spain and the WC form dragged it's way into the start of your season but since then his trajectory has gone up and up to the platform he set himself. Fantastic keeper and easily your signing of this decade, might even contest a PL contest.

I’ll take the heat for this but... he’s flappy as hell at the moment. Shades of 2011.

Was his best performance. Flapped a bit on crosses. Thankfully we didn't get punished for it.

Love it that he showed me boi Mitrogenho that he aint no bitch.
Thought that was quite funny and not something I was expecting from DeGea. I mean obviously Mitrovic has left something on him twice but more laughable checks than anything else.

When I watched David De Gea in his first season for us, I had no doubt that he’d go on to become the greatest keeper in the history of the game. This wasn’t a special performance today by any means, but the David De Gea we’re watching this season confirms this.

All he needs are World Cup and CL trophies and another decade of incredible work to quash any debate about it.

He definitely played his part in allowing the first goal. This is something he gets criticized for a lot and it came through again. Kimpembe scored from probably 4 yards out, De Gea definitely should've come for the ball and gathered it or punched it.

Matic left it. And it’s that split second decision that led to the goal. DDG cannot compensate for that.

Cost us in the CL knockouts 2 years in a row now. 400k and he can't even clear crosses in his 6 yard box? No thanks.
This is a terrible post but there’s a glimmer of truth in there somewhere. His handling has been dog’s piss for weeks. Goalkeepers should be coming out for those types of corners, even though it was Matic responsible for losing his man. The Alves near-miss was also due to De Gea’s inability to sort out his box. I said it the other day, but shades of 2011 and all that.

Must improve.

You have got to be joking.
Nope, terrible clanger v Sevilla last year. To his credit he was excellent in the away leg. Was crap for the first goal tonight and minutes later nearly cost us again on that Alves shot because he's useless on crosses.

The PSG player was not marked, a free shot on target. However, I feel that maybe David can practise a bit more often on coming off his line more often.
I noticed PSG's tactic that most of their corners were quite deep in De Gea's goal, knowing that he won't come off his line, bringing his defenders in front of him under pressure.

After the first goal, it was quite comical to see that De Gea came of his line and tried for a punch clearance, hopelessly missing the ball and PSG almost scored with a deflection. Like he wanted to make amends for what happened earlier.

If there is one area of his game where he's weak, it's that he doesn't come out for crosses. Mind you - that goal was on Matic not DDG tonight given he stopped tracking his man

The whole world knows it though so why would matic stop and expect him to come this time. Just deal with it yourself
