Him and Pogba combine so well together. With Rashford through the middle and the right signing on the other other wing we could have a devastating attack next season.

I do like him and I did not want to swap him for Willian, but ok...
You did, but if this is how you want to play it then so be it. No need to bicker today though and i shouldn't have brought it up, just thought you had a sly dig at Martial there, my bad

Saturday and a great game to celebrate, can't get much better! Hope you have a good evening!

OT. I thought he got more involved today and looked far more clever in his runs. I think he is starting to get the way Ole wants him to play and expecting him to turn it up another notch before the season is over. The run in this year will be nail-biting but if we keep the momentum up we have a great chance at CL next year. Good times ahead with Martial, Pogba and Rashford leading us back to glory!

If he looked up Pogba would have a match ball. He doesn't. He runs down blind alleys all the time and being even more selfish is the last thing he needs.
Like at 1-0 ?

Interesting bit of hyperbole though.

Not sure why this is being brought up after todays match, most of the times when he ran into the box he looked to play the ball out 45, Fulham generally did a good job of blocking the angle and intercepting the pass. Which is funnily enough what happened at 1-0 as well, he runs with the ball into the box, looks to play in Pogba, pass is intercepted but we win the ball back and play out to Martial again, this time his pass to Pogba isn't intercepted and it's 1-0. If anything, he tried passing the ball too often today

Wanting Willian signed is not the same thing as wanting Martial sold.

You really don't like the guy, huh?

If my memory serves me correctly you wanted to trade him with Willian last summer? Show's how much you know :wenger:

World class goal today! He and Pogba are easily our two most talented players. Thank god we ditched that relic we had in charge before Ole!
He really hates him.

No you don’t.. you are infamous in this thread Haram.
Great game from Martial today, if he is able to polish some of his minor flaws, we have in hand a top top player for us for years

You see goals such as the one he scored today and wonder why he doesn't dribble more.

Martial has terrific vision and his playmaking skills are underrating. His pass to Pogba was fantastic, for example. However, I want to see him dribble more and be a bit more selfish because he has the ability to do so. Fantastic goal and top performance from Martial today.

A small thing that really impressed me today was his movement of the ball making runs in behind. In the second half, there was a pass from Pogba for which he was just offside where he ran inside behind the fullback, but if he adds more of this to his game he'll be so much more difficult to defend against. If him and Rashford carry on making those runs, Pogba's assist stats will go through the roof.

Also, seems his runs are getting so much better.

In the second half, he was a better pass from Pogba and lukaku away from getting two more goals. Hope he keeps it up as if those passes can find him close to the box then you just know he's gonna finish them.

Did anyone see the interview beforehand where he says normally in practice he misses all the time and they have a laugh about how his finishing isn’t great in training but come game day it’s a different story.

Long term contract signed, another beautiful goal today.

Forever thankful that the lunatics didn't get their way over the summer.

Repeatedly I say he is very talented and that we shouldn't sell him but people only care when I criticise him.

"He [Ole] is a coach with great values. I think he knows how to get the best out of players and he makes things clear so when we go out onto the field, we all know our jobs and we all know what we've got to do.

"He's given me lots of advice. It's always positive to get advice from a top player in his own right, but sometimes, when you're out on the field, it comes down to what comes naturally to you and you do what you've always known how to do in terms of finishing.

"We have a laugh among ourselves quite often because I think finishing is something that comes naturally to me. I've played since I was a young kid, I've always been a footballer and a striker from that early age.

"The thing we laugh about is that I miss quite a few in training, whereas in a match, I may only get one chance and I manage to convert it."
Ole on Martial:

"I didn’t think about [the comparable Ronaldo goal in 2007] but Anthony in free flow is a great sight. His balance is fantastic, he is very strong, he shrugs defenders off and he is quick. He is a very, very good finisher and I think that goal won us the game. I think we were in complete control after that."

Fantastic goal, one of his best at United. Can't help but think though, how many we'd score if only he could pick out a man when he gets to the bye line. He was at it again today where he would get there and then pass to the opposition. Incredibly frustrating at times but then he is a striker, maybe he should just shoot.

If I was to be supercritical his short passing really has got to improve at this age. I get it, he’s running at full speed but this really is such a basic aspect that can help kill teams even more.

Really fantastic performance nevertheless, our best outlet, can see he is the guy our team is turning to, to lead our attacks.

Never doubted the lad. This boy has what it takes to be one of the greats of the game. I was really shocked to my bones that many of us were willing to do away with him to be honest.

Wasn’t he no.6 at juve and then changed to no.10 but when he came here Rooney had no.10 so he went back to no.6

Not sure if I prefer this goal or his team goal in Solskjaers debut.
Prefer this one. He's literally run all the way from inside his own half.

What I really prefer is his actual debut goal against Liverpool. That was madness.

His weaker foot is far from convincing hence his cut backs are rather poor. It would add a great element to his play if he was consistent with his pull backs.

Today's goal shows the difference between when he finds himself positioned in between the opposition RB / RCB - in comparison to when he finds himself on the outside of the RB trying to beat his man.

He struggles as he did the whole match to beat the RB when the defender is positioned to push martial outwards towards the bye line - but when Martial has cut inside to play inebtween the RB & RCB he is untouchable as the defenders have to push him defensively closer to the goal than away from it. At that point martial becomes clinical.

Disgustingly good player. Even as a United fan it’s a rather frightening thought to imagine where he’ll be at in his peak. Him, Rashford and Pogba are all yet to peak. Another Champions League trophy not be that far way.
