As soon as he stepped on the pitch the first thing I thought was Jason lee. It won’t be long before the “he’s got a pineapple on his head” chants start.

Does it really matter?

Beckham has had worse haircuts and they certainly didn’t do him any harm.

His new hair has some ... character, I guess we can say. I think he needed it because, and I don't know about you guys, but he has never been one who stood out as overly flamboyant, to put it that way.

Not sure it's been said and you also need to be of a certain age but it's got a bit of the Jason Lee's about it.
So for those who don't know Jason Lee was a forward for Nottingham Forest. He had a few misses and back then there weren't many programs about football. Frank Skinner and David Baddiel had a show called "Fantasy Football league". In the show they looked at the lighter side of football (way before soccer AM - I believe). Anyway they used to sign a song about Lee "He's got a pineapple on his head". Pretty sure away and even his own supporters stated singing it and it really impacted his form. I think they even wrote an apology and asked fans to stop (of course they didn't).
Anyone else remember that?

He goes vegan and then all of a sudden he comes out with that mad hair cut. Next thing you know he'll be off on a gap year to Thailand.

I always thought that was a weird hangup. Just cut your hair you fool and end it.
Its not like he has a deformity that he has to live with. We've all had shit haircuts!

You lot would have really struggled in the 70s with the hair footballers used to have. Amazing how some people's minds are blown by any hair style that isn't that chavvy short back and sides look that every male of a certain age seems to have nowadays.

Yes, the black man should have just conformed and got a haircut that's more in line with white people's ideas of afro hairstyles. If he really wanted to keep it long he should have gotten a "hilarious" afro instead.

It was an atrocious haircut no matter who he was.
There's no need to turn this into a race issue and there was more than white people that were laughing at him.

It would be cool if he had that old afro, you have that and everything you do looks funky! If I could grow it I would.

Btw, His hair isn't much different from Wan Bissaka is it, a popular style nowadays, no?
