Any players we can steal from them this summer? Surely some of them will want out if they finish 5th/6th.

I’ll take Kante, Willian and Alonso
Alonso is one of the worst left backs in the league. Willian is crap as well.

Kante I'd love here.

Why would we want William and Alonso?

Anybody would want Kante.

I don't think Chelsea are the club other English clubs can pluck talent from barring some strange contract renewal issue. Its never happened to them and it won't happen soon.

Do you think Kante will push for a move away?
For what it is I don't think Kante or Jorginho are problems. There's other trash that need to go first.
They're not a problem. Their positions are the problem. Another manager could shuffle this midfield in a better way but Sarri is so stubborn on this setup.

I don't think Kante is the like of player who pushes for a move away. He'll be happy trying to help the team in anyway. The problem is Sarri will be the one wanting to offload him for another play and keeping his favorite Jorginho as DMF. He's basically trying to build a new Napoli but with the results not supporting it, it's pretty hard to see Chelsea agreeing on his visions and replacing a world cup winner who was a key part in their title 2 seasons ago. It'll be an easy choice for Chelsea to sack Sarri instead.

This guy at The Shed End sums it up well I think, it’s not all down to Sarri:

In the last 5 years

Defensive football, counter attacking football, possesion football...

Managers that have won everything, managers that haven't won a thing

Managers who are strict and disciplined, managers who are more care free

4-2-3-1, 5-2-3, 4-3-3

Every manager we've had in the last years have all gone public to question the players mentality

Every year we constantly yo-yo from looking fantastic to looking like we can't even play football

It doesn't matter what manager we have or what tactics we play.

There is something seriously wrong in our dressing room, sacking Sarri isn't going to solve a single thing. Yeah we may through a mini honeymoon period with a new manager but sh*t will fall apart just like it did for Mourinho and Conte.

Chelsea, Liverpool, City, Arsenal and Spurs fans would love us to take Willian and Alonso. Neither will improve us.

As for Kante, I reckon PSG will go for him if Chelsea don't qualify for the CL.

Hope they sack Sari soon, then get the new manager bounce before the visit to Anfeild.

Of course Alonso would improve us. I know you like Shaw but you cannot say that he is any better than Alonso. He has time on his side though, but Alsono would be a good option to have if he could come cheap.

Also, any player would imrpove us on the right, so Willian would be a good option too. Not great option, but not bad either, especially if Mata leaves.

Alonso would improve MK Dons, not us. Shaw is miles better than Alonso.

We got schooled today. Can't imagine too many other teams will go away to City and high press and try to go toe to toe, maybe the "real" Barcelona but that's about it. Also a couple of awful defensive errors today, Hazard and Alonso totally missing Silva from that free kick (Alonso points at him but Maybe Hazard doesn't hear?) and Barkley with the school boy back header (reminded me of Gerrard against us ages ago for awfulness).

I expect to see return to the false 9 and sitting 20-30 yard deeper not pressing high in the league cup final. We might get a result playing like that as we did at home. Don't think we'll qualify for the CL via the league now, too inconsistent. Europa is probably our best bet.

Playing Kante high up the pitch, playing possession football and high pressing doesn't and will never work against good opposition. We've seen it away at Spurs, Arsenal and now City this season. It nullifys Kante's strengths, winning the ball, interceptions etc and magnifies his technical weaknesses. Against Huddersfield at home, / weaker opposition it can work though.

We would have been better off playing Kovacic or even Hazard in midfield and an extra winger instead of Kante away against City with the tactics today. We would still lose but at least be better going forward.

PSG wouldn't want Kante, he's doesn't fit their system at all either, he is world class in a midfield 2, which Sarri doesn't want to play.

We can do much better than Alonso - especially with the amount of money Chelsea would want. As for Willian, no way he'd be a good option for the £60M+ that Chelsea would want (they rejected similar amount from Barcelona). Way too frustrating and we can do so much better.

I'd like to see us sign players to improve us - not sign players to take us sideways at best for ludicrous fees.

It will be a great day when Abramovich gets bored with them and they disappear off back to obscurity.

It's a club made up of mercenaries and it shows whenever things get even a little bit tough.

Watched for about 30 minutes today and didn’t hear higuains name. Had to check after to see he played at all.
But why is city’s movement incredible. Triangles that seem to spin, runs that are diagonal or just completely unconventional. Hats off to ya Peppy. The energy and mentality he brings to these players are inspiring. I think Ole has the same effect mentality wise but the tactics or philosophy is something else

Baldy combined Cruyff and Sacchi tactics into one. He is a football management savant that only really works with elite level players.

Yeah, I wasn't talking about those fees. I have no idea how much would Chelsea ask for them, but that would be ridiculous money of course.

I get what everyone is saying and I agree that we should use our transfer budget wisely but for max 20 mill I would definitely take Alonso or Willian.

Can’t see it happening though

Erm. Alonso is widely slated by most football fans for being shite.

If he isn’t who is apart from that one guy that stands out called Messi?
He doesn't rally a team enough in the way a world class player does when their teams playing shite to get them back in the game. He does it on the odd occasion but not nearly enough that I reckon he could be labeled as being so. I think he's a very good player capable of world class moments but I don't think he has anywhere near the consistency to go beyond that.

Alonso is one of those players who has decent highlights on MOTD from the Conte era when he used to play as a wingback, but he’s an absolutely atrocious left back whose understanding of defensive positioning is absolute zero. I genuinely think he’s amongst the bottom 5 LBs in the league, Shaw is bloody Evra and Irwin rolled into one in comparison to that idiot.

That’s fine, but who does all that you mentioned on a more consistent basis apart from Messi and Ronaldo (I didn’t mention him at first, but he’s still a class apart)? You can basically say that for every world class player in my opinion. Hazard is a world class player, probably the best player in the league.

How fecking hilarious is it that, at the start of the season, Chelsea fans were wanking over the new Sarri era and taunting us over Jose and our downfall.

6months later, we're flying under an unheralded manager/Utd legend and they want Sarri out and are even murmuring about wanting fecking Jose back.

Joke of a club.

I'd say the most worrying thing for Chelsea has to be the first goal. Not only that it's allowed to happen, but when Sterling scores, from the replays it looks like Alonso and Hazard don't say a word to each other. Barkley was furious, but aside from him there seemed to be minimal reaction. In any team you'd expect an immediate inquest.

Kane and Aguero in the PL do it more often I reckon.

Alonso is one of the weaker defensive full backs in the league. Great player going forward but especially in a 2 he is not far off a liability defensively, Luiz and Alonso as the left side of their defense was an obvious problem waiting to happen. Can't waste Hazard tracking back to cover him so that whole side is surely an easy target for opposition.

He's an extremely talented player, one of the most talented, but best in the league? Nah, he plays for himself. He doesn't have enough influence over the game or his team on a consistent enough basis. Hes the sort of player who will be happy with his day when he scores in a 3-1 loss. I'm actually glad he didn't choose us all those years ago.

Laughable to suggest that he plays for himself. Glad he didn't choose us? We got the likes of Kagawa, Owen and Valencia instead ffs.

Hazard has 12 goals and 10 assists in 22 starts for Chelsea this season. He is easily one of the best players in the league.

Find me one Chelsea fan who wants Jose back and actually has been within 20miles of Stamford Bridge.
