Oh feels good seeing salty rivals getting bitter about some decisions for us while they have been diving and scoring offside goals the entire season. We're not even challenging and it's like Fergie days.
Except in Fergie days you were hardly ever not challenging. ;)

Why are you rivals getting bitter about a few pens decisions for us then when we're just 4th ? Feels weird eh ?
I have no issues with your penalties. Not since Ashley Young stopped diving for England. I'm actually loving our offside and lucky goals, as this place is a lot more fun. :)

We were also expected to beat Leicester and Westham. This win is significant because it reinforces, the belief that may have been dented by recent poor results. Our demeanour indicates that the team is very confident and will perhaps start a dreaded new win streak.
The Bournemouth beating 'feel good' factor didn't last long.:lol::lol:

So 24th Feb. They will make a film following that day named 'Manchester has fallen'.

Cheers for the help Chelsea
In all seriousness, the worst that can happen now is we lose to you lot next week and we're level on points with City albeit behind on GD.
I do think that City will pip us to the title this season as they are looking ruthless but not giving up hope just yet. We're not too bad ourselves and have a better chance than anyone would have thought at the start of the season. Enjoying the ride and looking forward to seeing how it pans out

You just have to love Liverpool fans at this stage of the season, they can’t help themselves. To be fair that’s exactly the reason for all those glorious fan gifs as reality downs on them.
Yeah. That post read like a rawk post(and I'm quite sure that poster is from rawk too).

They're always throwing these delusional claims and everytime they fail, they just double down on the delusion.

For a team that has won so little to virtually nothing for several decades now, their fans have this weird arrogance that can't be explained at all. Talk about delusions.

You’re both really funny, and very forgetful, clearly.

Of course a quarter of our goals have been offside. Oh dear...

You have won more penalties than any other team in the league.

The point of course being, that the same people whinging that Liverpool have the rub of the green, choose to omit the fact you have more of the green than anyone at the moment.

People will point to our West Ham goal being offside, but choose to not also say their goal was offside.

So my very, very, funny friends, in a world of myth and fact, fact always wins.

It tends to cut the poor opinions of others out.
Give him the ' Funniest Liverpool Supporter here' award - he beats the others hands down!

Keep your comments flowing and thank Chelsea for doing you a great favour this afternoon. :D

It’s a bit ominous for us considering City’s form. Frustrating that we could end up on 90+ points and still not win it.

Just have to hope City have a few more games like Newcastle & Leicester.

Depends if you think Liverpool's blip was a couple of draws.
You might have an unexpected loss in you too. Especially if salah gets a knock. City have coped with de bruyne and aguero out for a lot of games

Yeah but I’m hoping that doesn’t happen. We’re not able to cope with injuries like City are.

Aguero's only missed 3 league games. And KDB is one of the best in the league and City's best player but having David Silva, Bernardo Fernandinho And Gundogan they won't miss him nearly as much as we would miss Salah or VVD or you would miss Pogba.

City having annoying bought very well, they missed out on Jorginho and Fred and they've flopped anyway. Some serious expenditure needed by the rest of the Top 6 to close the gap.

We all know about City and their quoted spending. Let alone the true levels of it behind the scenes that they're actually paying.

One of my mates is a Chelsea fan, he gets down to see them fairly regularly and is a pundit in the sense he knows his stuff but this tit actually told me he didn't mind the defeat as it hurt our Chances. My chin hit the fecking floor.

There is a lot more of that, probably the rest of the observing 18 PL teams would probably prefer City to win it and I'm not even taking the piss. The manager and the players needs to let this spur them on. If that can not motivate a team to give everything they have for 3 more months than nothing will.

They all think everyone else loves them as much as the self-entitled smug bell ends love themselves.

Most fans find their delusions of grandeur extremely irritating.

It's all "special fans, with special songs on special nights at our special stadium"

Nauseating as feck to anyone who isn't a liverpool fan.

If we win the league it's going to be everywhere. It's all we'll go on about all summer and it'll be shoved in everyone's face. Everyone knows that's going to happen if we win it so they're hoping City do instead. If City win it it's forgotten about in a week and no one speaks about it again.

Also it takes away the best ammunition opposition fans have had for Liverpool supporters since the early 90's.

I think there's too much generalization with our fan base. We're not all "self entitled bell ends" but we do have some very vocal fans who are like that.

The media don't help either. Too many ex-Liverpool pundits and we definitely get away with more than other clubs do in terms of success on the pitch.

Do you actually want Liverpool to win the league?
Let me explain.
It's been so long, its become an obsession. Every season starts with the hope this will be your year, that's part of the excitement. As Fergie once put it 'the chase is better than the glory.
When you do win it, you will be happy for a bit, then what? Those last 28 years of having a routine will no longer be their. Will you lot know how to handle that? People suffer from depression when it all comes to an end.
All I can say is, be careful what you wish for.

I must admit I am surprised at how many 'neutrals' seem to want City to win rather than Liverpool. I certainly don't remember that being the case in the 13/14 season.

Well since you've put it like that, I really hope we don't win it this year just so I can start next season hoping we do win it before deciding to hope we don't win it this time next year. :houllier:

Ironic that this kind of stuff comes from the same people that last summer were jizzing themselves silly off Harry Kane scoring penalties vs goat farmers and fishermen from Tunisia.

There's no way us winning the title can come close to the 'it's coming home' level of cringiness.

City are viewed differently to Liverpool. You've become a successful club purely because you won the lottery and although people enjoy watching the football you play which is admittedly great, the victories are as hollow as an Easter egg. No fans really care about City's success (including a lot of City fans themselves judging by the empty seats week in, week out at the Etihad). If we win it (big if now as I think you will), it'll be everywhere for ages. Great for us, not so much for supporters of every other club in the land.

I can understand the resentment towards Liverpool from all other angles in the same way that Utd fans can probably understand that no one apart from them like Utd. Being one of the two most successful clubs in English history means that everyone always wants you to fail because when you're successful, it's rammed down everyone's throats

You wanna know why? No one gives half a feck about Man City, that's why. We're competing directly against you and still I can't find it within me to develop any real dislike for your club. It'd be the equivalent of Bournemouth winning it.

Liverpool have barely been successful for well over a decade now though. It's not like when United were constantly winning things and people welcomed Chelsea's arrival on the scene as a new power. It is strange that so few neutrals seem to favour Liverpool, seen as City are supposedly some soulless lottery winners in your view. Surely they'd support the club that's now challenging and supposedly doing it 'the proper way'?

I have no real dislike towards Liverpool so not sure what that has to do with anything. You're acting as if Liverpool have constantly been at the top and neutral fans are sick of the sight of you. Since 2006 your club's literal greatest accomplishment is to beat Cardiff on penalties in the League Cup.

The point I was making wasn't about accomplishments. Man City have accomplished nearly everything in the last decade yet still, nobody really cares. You're vanilla, and that's why there is such a heavy neutral leaning towards you.

Thought we'd lost when Gerrard's penalty was saved.

Since I've been watching Liverpool we've been terrible in finals. The ones we've won have been either undeserved or on penalties.

A couple of my best pals are Liverpool fans. Good guys.

But because "Most" Liverpool fans I know are the "back the Suarez t shirt" type one eyed types, it'd be a nightmare.

I was actually a little surprised myself how much anti Liverpool feeling there is. Nothing like the "Neutral's favourite" the media would spin it as.
Memories take a lot of erasing!

And a City win doesn't really hurt anyone, as it's state funded illegitimacy.

I agree with the sentiment that people just don't care enough about City to have feelings towards them. United fans hate them of course but even still I'm not bothered by them winning things because it just doesn't have any feel to it because of what they represent and how they've become relevant. They win the league and it's news for a couple of days and then things move on.

A mate of mine who's a big Liverpool fan and not your stereotypical in your face "We've got the best fans, stadium, players, half time food, match program etc;" type and even he text me saying he's surprised so few people seem to want them to win it. He understands United and Everton fans but couldn't come to terms with the rest of football fans hating them. They so often cry that everyone should love them and they are royalty but can't take any negativity or a challenge to any of their claims.

I am not objective when it comes to them because I hate them but most people I know that aren't Liverpool fans find them nauseating. The majority of the fans just go on too much about such trivial things as "best fans", the atmosphere, the romance of their club, their traditions and it's just grating. It's corny. The media doesn't help when you've got so many ex-Liverpool players in the press which is obviously going to rub you the wrong way.

We haven't been successful for a long time and those that really hate Liverpool are annoyed that it MIGHT come to an end. We were the top dogs in English football for such a long time that people were quite happy when Utd turned up and started winning everything in sight. The tide turned and in the 90s/2000s there was a huge 'Anyone But United' (ABU) agenda that was present and Fergie played on that by blaming everyone and everything other than his players when they failed to win sometimes. Klopp has got us firing again and although we've won nothing with him yet, the progress is there for all to see and unlike previous title challenging years, it doesn't look like we're going to fall away the following season. No Utd fan wants us to be on Number 19 and no non-Utd, non-Liverpool fan wants us to be able to say we've won the Premier League.
City are a nothing club in a lot of people's views right now. That may change in years to come but people would rather see City win than anyone else as it's just hollow. Hell, I'd even rather watch City win the league than Spurs as Spurs are a bigger club and it would mean more

What do you mean by might? Liverpool are the current 2019 Premier League champions - it clearly says so in the thread title.

Stop toying with our fragile emotions. It's just not on.
