I'm shocked to find that nobody has been talking about this guy! Tearing it up in Scotland this season and looks like he could be a tier one striker! He's only 22 but his movement and finishing looks top class! Only worry would be his temperament as he has a habit of getting himself sent off! I think the guy is going to be a steal for someone!

Yeah I loved his movement whenever I've watched him. He's the kind of striker Everton would take a punt on back when Moyes was managing them.

He's really good with his back to goal which is his biggest strength IMO. Very good at linking the play. While his goal record is brilliant it should be noted he also misses a lot of chances too. The biggest knock against him is his temperament. He's good for 4 or 5 red cards a season. A better, more experienced manager than Gerrard may be able to control that and channel it though.

Some sitters below because they're too good not to share...

The few times this season I've had a glance at the Scottish football page on the BBC sport site, there's always been a news report about him getting sent off. That's all I really know about him.

Looking it up, he's had 4 reds so far this season, and it's only February. Which is weird, he had no red cards in the last 3 years before this season.

Think that reflects the view of the SPL now. It’s Championship at best. What would a Championship
Pukki, who was absolute shit on a stick for a dominant Celtic side, is now top goalscorer in the Championship. You best believe Celtic would walk the Championship if the chance ever presented itself.

if he wasn't playing for that mob and in Scotland, he would never last 90 minutes.

Nowhere near good enough for any Premier League side

Seen him a few times this season and he is very easy to wind up and always falls for it, maybe a stronger manager could harness that better. He also misses a lot but he’s in the right position every time the ball falls in the box, and the misses don’t seem to faze him. Saw him the other week miss a sitter and then score a lot harder chance a couple of minutes later.

No way a top striker but could do a job for a relegation threatened side.

To be fair to Pukki he developed a lot during his four years in Brøndby. In his first two seasons there he spent 233.2 minutes per goal or assist. In his final two seasons he was down to 99.3 minutes per goal or assist.

Reminds me of Luis Suarez, and not in the good way.

Every time I see him play, I can think of a reason to send him off.

Needs to calm down.

Or is that because Norwich play better football and create better chances than Celtic did?? Leading to easier opportunities for Pukki.
For what it's worth, Pukki is a top player, his level of movement is exceptional.

Yes, I'm sure Norwich play much more dominant football in the Championship than Celtic do in the SPL.

Have a look at how the SPL table looked at the end of the 13/14 season - when Pukki was a Celtic player.

He is at his level championship or lower table premier league player at best. He is good for a club like rangers I reckon they can hold on too him for a while.

Prolific players in the SPL like Boyd and Hooper were barely even Championship material. I think Morelos looks absolutely miles from being a PL player of any sort and I have doubts that he would even do much in the Championship.

His hold up play and strength to roll centre-halves is exceptional. I don’t think he’d have too much bother doing the same at a higher level. This is the first season his finishing has been ruthless though, having been somewhat wasteful previously. Lot hinges on if he can maintain that level, but he’s still young and already the best player in the country.

Counter point - Oli Burke couldn't get a game for West Brom but he's got 3 in 6 for Celtic in the league. Celtic have a couple of decent players but I'm not convinced they'd walk the championship.

I'm a Rangers fan and I'm resigned to losing him in the summer. He is an absolute beast of a striker. He throws defenders about for fun and is a goal scoring machine. 27 goals this season and he hasn't taken a single penalty! He does have an issue with his temperament however referees up here are very strict with him. He's one of the hardest working strikers I've ever seen at Ibrox. He's one of those players you adore when he's in your side and the opposition hate. Absolutely love the wee guy and I hope if he does leave he fulfils his potential. Fancy giving us £20m for him? :D

Why are you talking about Tom Rogic in a Morelos thread? ;)

Again, Pukki improved loads after his Celtic stint.

I knew- when making the thread- that the majority of comments would be (Scottish league is terrible/ Championship level at best). However, I really think he will develop into a top drawer player. Reminds me a lot of a Tevez, Suarez type bulldozer (hence the nickname) and at 22 I feel he could be a bargain at under £20 million. Let's not forget the disparaging comments at those suggesting Virgil Van Dijk would be a good signing, when he was playing at Celtic. Class players stand out no matter what league they play in.

Apparently Liverpool are sniffing about him. One thing about him is he is extremely ambitious and wants to play regularly for Colombia. He's already said it is his dream to play in England.

Yeah I’d have agreed at any time up to a few months ago. Seems though that Rogic has been overshadowed by Christie and Macgregor this term.

I'd tend to agree with this. No denying that Rogic is a fine player however Morelos has gone up a couple of levels recently and I think he's the most talented player in Scotland.

Once Celtic started getting all the money English clubs get I have no doubt they would dominate the Championship best fans in the land would be theirs that stadium would be rocking and most importantly every player would want to play for them they would have that appeal. If they got to the EPL? eventual Top 6 club no doubt.

Who are they going to overtake out of: Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham?

They would fight it out with Tottenham for the last spot. Bigger Club bigger fanbase world wide this would not be immediate but within years of EPL money they would attract a lot more and better players than Spurs could.

It would take Rangers and Celtic years to establish themselves in England (Liverpool haven't won the league for 30 years) however both clubs would have enormous potential if they were given access to the TV money/exposure etc.

Seems like an absolute prick but is a quality player. The type you'd love in your team but bloody hate to play against and riles up opposition supporters with ease, i'd be surprised if lower level PL clubs aren't looking at him for the summer, he won't be there much longer.

Yes absolutely it would take Years like you said If they had joined the league say 20 years ago? they would be constantly up there.

I feel like the bigger Scottish clubs aren't going to let people roll them over when it comes to their best players. Rumours that Aberdeen were rejecting bids for Mckenna in the 8m region means that it might take 15m+ to get their top talents now. Would be good for the league if that was the case.

They aren't a bigger club than us because they've been playing in a pointless league for too long. Do they have more fans worldwide than us? Quick glance at the social media numbers and we dwarf them in that respect and are about to open an incredibly modern stadium which also happens to have more capacity than their own.

Add that to the fact that a vast majority of players would rather be based in London than Glasgow, the fact we're a far, far wealthier club than Celtic are (and they wouldn't catch up) who would be starting with a colossal advantage in terms of squad value, and I see no reason they would eventually overtake us.

We have the current England and French captain playing for us, but they could attract better players than us because what, they make some noise at home? There are some massive clubs in England who can't even get out of the championship, there would be no guarantee whatsoever that Celtic would break the top six.

Not to mention Newcastle and Sunderland have shown that money and a large fan base doesn’t = success.

The best team in the league doesn’t regularly sell out their stadium.
