It is. It is no different from any other tactic. It is as boring or good as any other tactic when put under a microscope. 2 teams played almost exactly the same and it became a boring game, not a pure one. If a team doesn't play into Klopp hands he complains about their tactic not being valid in the eyes of modern football. Bayern didn't play into his hands, and guess what it was an obvious and boring 0-0 game, but he can't complain because they used the same tactic and it ended up being a hoofing fest. It is a gimmick. That is why he is mad.
This is all in the context of one game though, this season in the premier league only City have outscored them, they’ve conceded less than any team. Klopp’s way of playing has proven to be effective, he’s won league titles and has got to European finals. You can think the man is a knob (I actually don’t mind him but he is definitely a knob) but to describe his tactics as a gimmick is well wide of the mark.

They have just got in £100m worth of midfielders this season and midfield is still a massive problem. Jurgen loves taking his time and that's probably why he's never gone to an elite club, they won't give him the time he wants to manage his way.
He hadn’t the bollocks to come to United and succeed Ferguson where success would be demanded on an almost immediate basis. He swerved Madrid too, by all accounts. He fancies being the ‘plucky underdog’ with expectations tempered but when you’re breaking world record fees not once but twice, for specific personnel, your ‘plucky underdog’ tag no longer applies. He needs to deliver titles now and that explains his edginess the past month or two, and that nervous energy is transferring to the players and, most notably, Anfield itself, where the home crowd are getting edgier by the week. It’s time to shit or get off the pot for everyone at LFC.

Just reading a list of the top ten midfielders statistically in Europe this season and not one was from Liverpool. They don’t have any top class midfielders and tend to bypass that area of the pitch
Didn't know that. See but it is nothing wrong with that. But when thats the truth, the entitlement he shows to be able to still portray himself as some kind of football purist is laughable, and a bit sad. It is fine to be playing long balls against high pressure as it is the least risky and most effective tactic against it. You get push your team up field and attack them much quicker. Having the keeper pass the ball around with your CB's for 10 minutes in your own box before realising it doesn't matter and then hoofing it upfield does not make it more pure than just hoofing it immediately. They risk their keeper doing big mistakes with the ball at his feet leading to goals against them, but that is some how not a weakness but something to brag about, why? How does it move play forward? It is a gimmick.

Just listening his interview for Skysports Germany.
He looks really angry about something. His German is really fluent.
If anyone has it I would love to hear and see it. He is so much better in German .

Liverpool have been really poor away from home in the CL so Bayern at home will be a montain to climb.

He doesn't spout shit. Or he does but we don't understand.
He spouts more shit in his native tongue.. And even more bullshit about refs and other players and teams. But then he comes back all smiling and nice couple of days later.

Agreed but I think it's the same for United. I was quite pleased we were drawn away to Wolves

Spot on. I reckon this game at OT will decide the title. Anything other than a win and City's momentum will have them make up the 1 point deficit comfortably in 11 games. A draw or loss would mean 1 win in 5 for Pool. Since the Manchester derby will most likely be at the end of the season, hopefully the title is already won by City so the game doesnt matter.

His tactics let his front 3 ask all the right questions though, isn't it?

Which is why his MF is the way it is. I don't like it very nuch but it's clever.

I also wonder occasionally if he was messing about the first 18months to set up the myth that it's always comprised of all out attack.

It's also very difficult to play against. You can't push the offside trap too high or they get in behind, sitting deep is problematic because it's hard to get up the other end, and also because Mo falls over a lot.

I agree there is nothing wrong with it. The problem is when he demeanes the opposition and gets on his high horse. One of the few things likeable about Jose is he didn’t pretend to be some kind of philosopher. Klopp should take a step back and show a bit of humility at times. Definitely wouldn’t hurt.

100% mate. Klopp could just admit he is in the same boat as everyone else and I wouldn't have a problem with him.

I hate this thing he does. When he's about to be interviewed, as soon as the interviewer starts speaking, he starts laughing.

Agree, his system is heavily dependent on his forwards. All three of them are borderline world class at what they do, which makes it easy for him to make do with average midfielders. in fact, their forwards even make their midfielders look better than they actually are. I doubt Wijnaldum for instance would be as effective in our system.

Fined 45k for the West Ham post-match comments.

Was hoping for a one-game touchline ban so we wouldn't have to watch his ridiculous antics on the touchline on Sunday.

Why no ban? Charged for first time ever?

He was charged earlier in the season for running onto the pitch to celebrate Origi's 96th minute goal versus Everton (the Pickford blunder).

Questions the refs validity and authority - gets Micheal Oliver the next match against United. Makes total sense.

Say's he thinks Ole should be Permanent United manager, in his press conference:

"It must be one of the best records ever, mustn't it?", Klopp told reporters on Friday. "I'm really happy for him. It's not the best news for us but for all Manchester United fans its brilliant.

"They've brought in all the things Sir Alex Ferguson stood for with all the new things in football.

"That makes them a threat again. They are really back on track. Good for them.

"We all needed luck in our managerial careers. When I went from Mainz to Dortmund people said I had no international experience. It was true.

"Normally you would not make a move from Norway to Manchester United. That is clear. But he's shown his qualities.

"He has the quality and the luck in the right moment. Now he's in charge and there is no doubt he will be the manager next year as well. That is clear.

"Can you imagine if they brought in a new manager? He deserves that 100%"

He'll have another official rant this weekend when they drop points to us, finally get himself a ban the FA should have given him months ago.
Well, Step 1 is taken care of... Now we play the waiting game...

Made the transformation this season from that mythical heavy metal football manager to a boring, passive and waiting for lucky hits manager.
