I've been saying this since he signed. A bit of patience goes a long way. He's still only 19 and will have ups and downs but as a attacking fullback he has huge potential. The defencive side will also come with playing more games and time.
As far as I'm concerned the defensive side doesn't need to improve that much. Alba and Marcelo are average defensively but that's not why they were the best fullbacks in the world for the last 5 years. Like you said he'll get some defensive nous with experience and then will be a fantastic attacking fullback. Him and Shaw are quite a good package, one is a brick shithouse defending 1v1 and the other is tricky as feck attacking 1v1.

He played well but that part when he was telling everyone to clam down and then gives PSG player a 30 yard pass was one of the funniest and dumbest things I've seen.
That's because he is a kid. I'm sure he's gonna get stick in the dressing room for that, it was hilarious :D

What an amazing talent he has !!

2-3 years from now when decision making improves by aging and he'll be a top, top player.

He was the only one asking for the penalty and looked absolutely dejected when it looked like the ref wasn't giving it.

Did some great stuff. He's clearly had talent from the start. That fecking pass to Mbappe though Jesus

I love his confidence, it's confidence without arrogance, he's quicker than people realize, he can pass (most of the time. :p) he can cross and he's got a trick in his boots, we looked a better team when he came on, much like we did when he came on vs Southampton.

I noticed this, for a young player it showed a good head, he didn't just run to take the corner in excitement, he made the appeal to the ref straight away.

In fairness there were 2 or 3 passes from both teams that were comedically bad tonight.

Took the words right out of my mouth. But I do adore what he has brought to us - ability, confidence and passion. I would be amazed if he isn't a starter for us in 5 years be it defend or midfield.

Yes me too. He needs to be first choice in the league.

This so much. Just play the kid, and he'll get better. I'm sure of it.

Only good thing Mourinho did this season  quality young player. So mature for his age too.

Like the look of him. Only 19 but already first team material. We have a pretty exciting group of young players here.

What a signing this lad turned out to be and it's his first season at 19! Said it before and i'll say it again, he's already our best right winger and our best right back.

When he effortlessly went past Bernat

I'm starting to see where his reputation comes from, he's an absolute gem. He oozes class, honestly changed the game for us again. He walked past Bernat like he wasn't even there.

Feel he is more suited to the RW.

Great to have a versatile player for the right flank.

Looking like a phenomenal signing. Excited to watch the lad develop.

This kid is superb. He is fearless, takes on defenders, whips in very good crosses, good link up play and has balls to shoot from distance at that stage of the game.

If we could combine Shaw's defensive skills and Dalot's offensive skills we would have the best LB in the world.

I seriously think we should try him at RW for the rest of the season, the kid has true talent offensively and while he is not ready to start at RB because he lacks defensive skills he is proving to be a very reliable option for RW. I think we have a true gem in the making.

 Absolute class and shows no fear. Surprised how good his English is already. Us fans are gonna love him for many years down the road. Future United legend in the making.
I think that's the new generation of kids from Portugal maybe. With the world being more and more globalized and more intertwined, more kids these days will be multilingual. He hasn't learnt English that good just from his time here, he's definitely been talking English or watching a lot of shows in English for him to be that fluent

Sounds right. Ronaldo's English certainly wasn't on Dalot's level. And that was after 6 years living in England!

Loved the dribble past Bernat as soon as he came on, but then that telling everyone to calm down and hitting a cross field pass straight to Mbappe cracked me up

Dalot is the best RB at the club. He should be playing there. Young gets beaten regularly and offers nothing in attack. Greenwood needs to get games at RW in a front 3. He's better passer and dribbler than Lingard and Mata. It would be wasteful to spend 150m on a RB and RW in the summer transfer window instead of coaching up immense talents like Dalot and Greenwood. For clubs that take pride in developing young talent like Manchester United, if you're good enough you're old enough.
