Didn't Scholes say he would walk if this happened ?
I heard them allude to this potential problem when he was interviewed on radio Manchester when he got the job. He said something along the lines that he’d been assured there wouldn’t be interference or he wouldn’t have taken the job.

What's all this hate for Scholes about?
Were fans always like this or internet age made them like that?

well...that is a bit embarrassing. He should keep his head up. Ole career was nothing to talk about at Cardiff, yet he is doing a fantastic job at United so far. He can try again at a club that is far better than the rest of his competitors and have a taste of winning, so he can develop as a manager.

Thats funny? I don't think he made the decision just like that.
It means he did not give it enough thought before stepping into it.
There will be hundreds of things changing in management. If one is really passionate about it, they will try to adapt of course.

Unless of course Oldham wanted to fire him in real, but they just allowed him to bow out respectfully.

Should be interesting to see how many fans who are celebrating this are butt hurt Jose fan boys.
What Jose still has fans? I assumed the Olę renaissance all but put a nail in that. Jose was sinking this club so being a Jose fan AND United is not possible. this is the guy who tried to turn us against our best players......must be the Pogba digs

Scholes might have been a terrible pundit in hindsight, but he had United's best intentions at heart and didn't do it to propel his punditry career.
Even though your next sentence is even more pathetic, what the feck is this?
No, talking crap about your ex-club on TV is not useful in any way. As a matter of fact, it's actually the exact opposite.
Scholes didn't start his moaning when LvG and Mourinho were done and not only the fans, but the players had given up on them. He started it much earlier and nobody needed that added media pressure that he among others caused.

Given what’s happened since to Utd, I’d say it was exactly what needed to be said .

Could you imagine if that was any other European elite club: BM, Madrid, Barcelona , ex players would have laid into the club for such a shit policy

Honestly this isn't the first time that someone had taken a job based on certain expectations only to find themselves in something different when they start.

Difference is the Scholes can afford to walk away from a situation like that and many other people can't. As such, I don't particularly understand the gloating and nastiness towards him as a result of his decision.

Given what's happened? I don't believe for a second that if Ole was given the job after Moyes that the result would have been similar to United's current results.
And no I don't mean that those results are because of Mourinho. Except for the signings maybe, those have recently been important.

Most of BM and Madrid ex players and personnel seem to be a bunch of cnuts. They should not be taken as an example. No idea about Barcelona.

So every ex player should keep their mouths shut???

Funny when most of the caf was saying the same thing every fecking week for 5 years that’s ok. An ex player and one club man says the same about a club he cares about; he’s a cnut!

Where's the logic there? He said it as he saw it. He should have waited for someone else to something or what

Maybe he did give enough thought but the board screwed him. It's easiest to laugh at the club legend.

I wouldn't worry about Scholes's failure because in 5 years and the majority of fans will somehow convince themselves that Scholes was the greatest manager of his generation and claim he's the manager who other managers rate as the best they ever faced. Just like the "world class" player he somehow became following his retirement from playing.

Away home and cry to mummy.

Might make him think twice the next time he is sitting on a sofa acting like it’s all so easy.

Scholes was one of our greatest ever players and quite clearly loves the club. The state of some of the posters in this thread. Embarrassing.

No, I don't find it OK at all. I think a huge part of the football fans on caf and everyone else are pathetic and don't deserve to be called as supporters.
Weirdly on the caf the non-moaners are ridiculed and called names. There should be a bot that bans anyone who uses the phrase 'top red'.

cnuts the lot who are ridiculing him. Also, hindsight has shown us that he was right about everything as a pundit - from playing Pogba in a 3 to LVG philosophy and Jose's football. Every fecking thing!

Laughing at the club legend and laughing at the ironical situation that the club legend got himself into are two different things.
Unless one is of the opinion that whatever a club legend does need to be praised whatsoever

I don’t take pleasure in him leaving but I just don’t get All the ex-players that sit and criticise managers week in week out then go out and try it for themselves and a very few are actually successful. Most just fail miserably.

Look at shearer he took NUFC Down but he’s on tv every week telling managers how to do their job.

Quit via Whatsapp apparently out of the blue without discussing anything with the board or backroom staff....sounds like he's shit himself and quit.

The problem I have with Scholes (the pundit) is the overriding sense one gets that he won’t criticise his mates. Thus he has little credibility.

Didn’t criticise latter day Rooney at MUFC

Would love to hear his views on Gaz at Valencia?

Or Giggs at Wales?

Also will be very interesting to hear him if we keep Ole and we have a sticky patch?

Yup. Amusing that some of us are forbidden to laugh at the irony just because he is our legend. I personally still respect him as our legend but I don't feel bad laughing after reading the news about him. Well, I hope he can have a career as manager like boss Ole.

Jesus there are some absolute weapons on this board. I'm surprised some of you are still allowed unsupervised internet access - hell, I'm surprised some of you are able to type at all.

 Miserable bastard. Serves him right.

He’s a coward for resigning over WhatsApp. Lack of professionalism.

He’s done out here as far as management goes. Career over. No club will touch him.

Scholes is believed to have insisted on no interference from the owner, Abdallah Lemsagam, as a condition of becoming the manager. A club statement on his departure limited itself to thanking him for his services and wishing him well.

“We would like to place on record our thanks to Paul for his efforts during his spell in charge and would like to wish him well for the future,” Oldham’s statement said. “An update on the permanent replacement will be made as soon as possible.”

Lemsagam, a Moroccan former football agent who took over Oldham in January 2018, said when he appointed Scholes that “Paul will have my backing 100%”.
