I heard them allude to this potential problem when he was interviewed on radio Manchester when he got the job. He said something along the lines that he’d been assured there wouldn’t be interference or he wouldn’t have taken the job.

well...that is a bit embarrassing. He should keep his head up. Ole career was nothing to talk about at Cardiff, yet he is doing a fantastic job at United so far. He can try again at a club that is far better than the rest of his competitors and have a taste of winning, so he can develop as a manager.

Given what's happened? I don't believe for a second that if Ole was given the job after Moyes that the result would have been similar to United's current results.
And no I don't mean that those results are because of Mourinho. Except for the signings maybe, those have recently been important.

I wouldn't worry about Scholes's failure because in 5 years and the majority of fans will somehow convince themselves that Scholes was the greatest manager of his generation and claim he's the manager who other managers rate as the best they ever faced.
