Will obviously be a huge miss not have Rom in the form he has been in the last few weeks.

Having said that it will be a good opportunity for Greenwood to get some minutes if he is injured. Wonder if Ole would even think about handing him a start?

Some talk this morning that Lukaku will miss the game.
Early team news
Solskjaer has given some early team news.

“We’re still getting players back, they’ve been training better this week,” he told the official United app.

“Jesse, Ander, they’ve been training. Romelu got a sore foot so he’ll be assessed this morning to see if he can join in.

“Phil Jones is back, so we’re looking stronger. Mason has been ill, so he’s not trained this week. He might be training this morning, so let’s see how he is.”

I think we should probably play something like this.

Romero
Dalot/young Smalling Lindelöf Shaw
Mctominay/Matic
Fred Herrera
Pogba
Rashford Martial

That is if Herrera is back. I think Mctominay has done well and deserves to start over Matic. Dalot has done very well and so I would probably start him over Young or play both.

Young is suspended, so Dalot is pretty much certain to play unless Ole throws a curveball and starts Darmian instead.

Solskjaer previews Champions League draw
Bring it on in draw?

Definitely, we’re happy to be through, so many good teams anyway so we’ll know in a couple of hours time who we’re gonna play against and it’s been a nice couple of days relaxing and watching the other games. I don’t really mind who we gonna play because it’s gonna be tough anyway if you’re gonna win it.

More early team news
Lukaku?

Yeah he’s had a sore foot this week, he’s being assessed, so hopefully he’ll get through today. Phil Jones is back, there have been so many players out, Anthony (Martial) is back, Ander (Herrera) has been training, Jesse (Lingard) has been training and we’ve got a decision to make tomorrow on who’s match fit.

Quality of Premier League shown by Champions League progress
CL? PL factor?

Gotta be a compliment, it tells a lot about the quality, it’s not like any of us have had easy teams to play against, Dortmund, Munich, PSG beaten, it’s a testament to the Premier League.

On facing Wolves
Wolves progress?

That’s a testament of them, we talk about these teams, last season you were impressed with them then to go through the Championship as they did convincingly with the players, had a clear plan, didn’t get Championship players in, players above the Championship level and you can see that now in seventh trust their own way of playing, defended fantastically well against Chelsea but at home they take the game to the opponent with the great passing ability in the team.

How he's found his first three months
Assessment?

We’ve done well of course we’ve given ourselves a chance to be in and amongst top four, we’re in Cup quarter-finals both in FA Cup and Champions League, we’ve been on a good run, now the not squeaky bum time like the gaffer used to say but it tightens up and April and May at Manchester United we narrow the focus and it’s now about winning trophies, make use of the squad, it’s always been able made we’ve done that.

Solskjaer asked if he's ahead of schedule
Ahead of schedule?

I didn’t have a schedule, I had until May to do whatever I could with the team and playing style, mood, everything has been going well but then again football kicks you in the teeth sometimes and it’s always the next day if we get through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup then I’ll have a nice few days back home.

Sanchez?

He’s coming back on Sunday, he’s not been on grass yet, he’s been seeing his people in Barcelona, he’s still a few weeks away so if we get to round about Everton, City, Chelsea that period he’ll probably be available.

Confident he will return to form?

Yeah I hope so. You can never be 100 per cent sure but Alexis is such a determined lad, he loves football and is doing everything he can to get back and show his best side.

I missed that. Well that makes it easier then. I hope Dalot can defend well too, but Wolves don't play with wingers so that might help him.

Defeat?

You’re always measured on results but we played a good game against Arsenal, played so much worse and won games and that’s the strange thing when you’re a manager you can look behind the result and say that was a good performance didn’t get what we deserved... it’s so strange, the Arsenal one, very disappointed in the result, it hurts more than anything. But we can’t look at the performance and say we were shit because we weren’t, to be honest and blunt, we weren’t, we played well.

No question about which team does he want to play against? It is a stupid question, but I would expect that one given that the draw is so soon.

On the international break
Internationals?

It’s not lovely. I’ll have a few days back home hopefully or go somewhere with the family, players who’ve been injured need to train hard and get fit, and the ones who’ve played a lot will play with international teams.

Scholes departure from Oldham
Scholes?

He’s probably got his reasons why he left, so... You’ve gotta ask him, he’s invited here if he wants to come and have a little chat about it, we’ve texted and it didn’t work out, that’s just management.

I'll be honest in the immediate aftermath I thought it was a poor performance, but taking stock, it was just those fine margins that we missed out on which cost us the victory. A top answer and it will translate to the players on the pitch tomorrow, I'm sure...

On The Arsenal Defeat

"Look, we were a bit unfortunate but we have to take our chances. Arsenal are shit, and have been for a while. They tried hard and are competing for that fourth place. Why? I don't know as they just waste the place and devalue the Champions League anyway"

That would have been an appropriate answer.

Fred previews Champions League draw

We can’t choose who we play against. In the Champions League, they are all big teams and they all represent difficult adversaries, difficult opposition, and they will all be tough games.

But we are prepared for whoever we are drawn against. We will do our best, we will go all out for the victory and we want to win the Champions League trophy.

 Holy shit! That's some rant by Ole! I fear he has taken the Arsenal loss too much by heart. Hope it doesn't affect our preparation coming into an important phase of the season.
