Taking the next corner instead of Jones!
No, he's not playing well and doesn't look fully fit, so play Martial and rest Rashford, we should pull him from the friendlies as well so him, Lingard and Ander are are all fully fit and fresh for the Watford game.
I see what you're saying and while I don't particularly agree, I understand the idea in principle, as long as he's pulled from international duty though. Otherwise he'll come back even more knackered.

They've been excellent against the top half clubs this year, this won't be easy at all. We need to treat this like a top 4 match.

We need an energetic midifeld to deal with Mourinho/Neves, give them time on the ball and we will suffer.

I'd personally like to see Herrera(if fit) Fred as a double pivot, and Pogba in the CAM role.

Now that Martial is back fit, I think we should go back to the 4-3-3 that worked so well before, with Rashford striker flanked by Martial / Lukaku.
It's a good job we treated Arsenal and Chelsea so lightly then!
    Lukkaku was abject.
But we don't have many options do we.
    Martial and Greenwood....?

Ole will not drop them. He will give them both a chance and the International break coming up.
If you think Lukaku was abject then by that standard, Rashford should be sold and DDG should never wear the shirt again!

Look, I'm no trying to be flippant but strikers are due an off day and they've both been excellent of late. There isn't the depth to the squad to rotate as we would have normally have. In SAF's heyday we would probably had Ole and Sheringham to come on and rest Cole,Yorke.
Sanchez and Martial weren't readily available so we started with 2 fatigued strikers.

We have to keep faith in them and a returning fitter Martial with Greenwood on the bench. I think the 5 day break will see a resurgent strikeforce

lets just say we disagree. Lukaku turned back into a donkey. He had the lions share of the chances.

De Gea I would excuse. That was a weird movement of the ball. He could never hit the ball like that again.

    Let's disagree indeed.

But that is a lazy and fatuous view

it is an FA cup game. I wouldnt give a shit if we lose to be honest, our squad isnt good enough to be playing in 3 competitons til the end. Premier League and CL is enough. Depending on the draw in the CL, we could progress to the semis. Top 4 is wide open and a fierce battle. Dont care about the FA cup at this point.
And just let City walk to a FA cup trophy. No way.

    A hard game.

Maybe we should take a leaf out of Liverpool's book and throw this in the same way they did, so we can prioritise getting fourth and going as far as possible in the CL.
No we go for all 3. We’re Utd not Liverpool.

Oh he could. It's a difficult technique but it was fully intentional. Thrilling when you strike one like that and it comes off even in practice.

If I see him do that again, I will believe he intended to do it.
I had not heard of him doing this before.

I have seen similar movement on a strike. But they have not been repeated by the same player.
Ole is not one to discredit anyone.
he thought the ball just moved in a weird way..paraphrasing

When I saw it I could not believe the movement.

Now that Lukaku is injured and Young disqualified, we have less options.

    Either 4-3-3:
    -----------------Romero---------------
    Dalot------Smalling--Lindelof---Shaw
    --------------Fred----Mctominay------
    -----------------Pogba-----------------
    Greenwood-------Rashford----Martial

    Or 4-4-2:
    -----------------Romero---------------
    Dalot------Smalling--Lindelof---Shaw
    --------------Matic----Mctominay------
    ------Fred----------------Pogba--------
    -------Rashford----Martial-------------

If Herrera is fit, it would then be easier

So Lukaku is out and Greenwood possibly still ill. Probably gonna see this.

    Romero
    Young - Smalling - Lindelof - Shaw
    Pereira - Matic - Pogba
    Chong/Dalot - Rashford - Martial

Even though Rashford has been shite since his injury and badly needs a rest.

Maybe we can restore Martial to the strikrr position. Lukakus injury and rash being out of form/tired opens the door for martial to lead the line- ole said he could play as the number 9.

    Romero
    Dalot Lindelof Smalling Shaw
    Herrera Fred
    Pogba
    Greenwood Martial Lingard

Young is banned, so Dalot will play RB...

    Like the look of this
we played something similar last year at Everton with Mata and Lingard on either side and the fluidity in the attack was very good. made us less predictable to defend against and I think Greenwood could be the answer to solve our long standing RW issue.

Sits well for Man Utd this I think, Wolves at home will be coming at us and that makes it easier for us to counter (which is what I think we're best at)

Wolves at OT would have done what they did to Chelsea imo.
