This story told me NEVER..NEVER use your mother as your agent. She obviously didn't do the best for her client and let her client suffer 6 months with no football in his professional career due to her handling of contract negotiation. Can you ever imagine CR7 or Messi get into this kind of mess?
Messi is represented by his father and the reason he isn't playing is because PSG are being petty, not because of his agent.

if PSG is petty by trying to avoid player running down contract and leave for free, then so be it. There were countless articles talking about PSG trying to find a way for him to go to Bayern or Chelsea but he would want to sit on the bench to get his paycheck. Not every club runs like Arsenal who always let players (Ozil, Sanchez, ramsey, even welbeck) run down contract then ask for huge amount of salary to renew. It is rumored Ramsey will earn 400k/week with Juventus.

Even if Man Utd is able to get him on a free(huge signing bonus and big wages), his wage will upset existing member in the squad and will start asking for similar wages. Isn't De Gea asking for same wages as Sanchez now? He is running down his contract as well. Nothing is free after all.

Take Ramsey as an example. I assume his ability probably only justify 200k/week. so Juventus need to overpay $200k/week x 52 week x 5 years + 8M signing fee. so it is 60M there already.
(this is only based on rumored numbers, https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47203118)

Maybe he doesn't fancy playing for Bayern or Chelsea?

Need not worry. His chance to join MU is almost zero. MU doesn't even want Ramsey on a free, so let alone Rabiot.
Don't think Ramsey was ever an option, he's had his injury issues, wanting Sanchez money (better giving it to De Gea) and I just don't think he wants to play for us. Juventus would provide a totally different life experience and he gets to go there without being viewed by Arsenal fans as a traitor.

Imo a player shouldn't be judged on his YouTube highlights, because they mostly favour flair players.

Take Kante for example, his highlights are probably not impressive at all, yet he's one of the best DM's in football nowadays. Same can be said for Busquets, Casemiro etc.
The issue for me is actually the opposite. We could benefit massively from having someone like Kante in our team. What I would hope to see in any YouTube highlights of the midfielder we are looking at is someone who is excellent at reading the game, has great stamina, good pace, making tackles and interceptions and moving the ball well in tight spaces.

And dominating Barcelona.

He is a top player with some attitude problems. I love Herrera, but Rabiot is better (and Herrera can always take Matic's position).
Well, I don't remember him "dominating Barcelona". If that's his trump card then great. Was he part of the same team that was dominated by Barcelona? Sorry, I just still have a Wilshire hangover. I love Herrera, and I don't want to see him replaced by a better player with an attitude problem. I'm not sure that would make us a better team.

I really meant that I didn't want Woodward playing FIFA, going "It's OK that Herrera left on a free, we got Rabiot". Rabiot could be a masterstroke, and I'm not totally against the idea by any means... I just don't know if he's the answer.

He was part of that team and was sick, I don't really know why he still played though.

Maybe so. Whatever PSG is doing however, how will that prevent him from leaving on a free transfer? He still gets what he wants in the end.

He's yet to find a club that agrees with what he wants though, those that did are 'too small' for him.

He is looking for big package, a salary that doesn't match his ability on the pitch. Given his record he won't renew his contract next time either. If a club like PSG can't offer him a package that makes him happy, which club on earth can offer him that unless he leaves for free again? I would rather spend 60M to buy a DeJong, instead of getting Rabiot for "free".

Juventus is not paying 400k a week for Ramsey. Come on.

Check the Ramsey thread. They got mixed up with gross and net wages.
There’s no mix-up though. When people say ‘Sanchez is on £500k’, there’s no error because what they mean is ‘before tax’. Ramsay is on £400k. Like everyone else, he has to pay tax on his salary.

Ole is confident in his ability to manage multiple kinds of personalities, he will conduct a meeting with Rabiot's mother to convince her of letting her son join us.
Of course being the dominant mother she is, she will plan to squeeze every penny from United, but then she meets Ole and getting enchanted by his smile. at the end of the meeting; she will agree a Bebe's salary to her son under one condition, to have a secret relationship with Ole.
Ole being loyal United fan, agrees to do anything to benefit the team.
Everything will go according to the plan and Rabiot will have the best preseason a united player ever had until and he will be detrimental in us winning Uefa super cup (yes we won champions league) and the 1st game in the league against Liverpool (3-0).
Ole realizes he is the permanent manger of United, so he decide to bring his family to Manchester. this decision means he will cut his affair with the agent.
Naturally, this decision provoke Rabiot's mother and she decide to conduct a press conference where she expose the devil behind the smile, Rabiot will do Zaha 2.0 (with a different twist) and refuse to play again.

He's a great player when motivated but based on what I've seen I just don't think he has the temperament to consistently fill that holding midfield role to a high standard. He's good at it but he doesn't like it.

His mum is totally crazy and is ruining his career. He should snap out of it or he'll disappear. He got into himself he's a some kind of superstar already.
Would avoid him like a plague.
Problems with his mum agent would start very soon.

Stay away from Rabiot. Not even necessarily because of his antics, but because he's not even that good.

I mean he seems like difficult personality but it's clear that post is full of agenda when it's opened by stating that Rabiot wasn't very good which is cleary not true.
Also someone said this in the comment section...

"it seems to happen a lot with french youngsters: Anelka, Nasri, Ben arfa, Cantona ..."

All super talented, they never got to full stardom because of their toxic attitude in a club or national team"

Was going to say the same.. perhaps there are some things that true, such as the bust ups with Zlatan, but its also clear that it was written by a PSG fan annoyed that he's leaving on a free.

Cantona didn't do too badly in the end. :D

Im not even bothering to really read all of this stuff about him. We probably aren't even in for him. And if by chance we do sign him then we can deal with it then.

Let's just review the facts.

Fall out with Man City at age 17
Fall out with PSG at age 23
Fall out with French national team and disrespect French legend Deschamps at age 23
Barcelona withdrew contract offer for his service even he is free on February.

Let's take a look where he can go this summer.
Man city , Barcelona, PSG - ship has sailed.
Bayern - already stated they can't meet his salary demand
Arsenal, Spurs, AC/Inter Milan - can't afford his salary
Juventus - just signed Ramsey on high wages
Liverpool - already has 8 midfielders on the book for 3 spots
Real Madrid - a possibility, but I doubt Zidane will entertain someone who doesn't respect French NT and Deschamps in his team
At. Madrid - I doubt they can afford his salary either if PSG and Bayern can't.

So only Man Utd and Chelsea left for him.

I think he was 13 when he «fell out with City».

What exactly are you doing, what is your angle in this? Rabiot wasn't at City at 17, he was at 13 and his parents disagreed with the length of the contract. He didn't fell out with PSG who were still trying to sign him in December.

I agree there may be bias but they do watch him regularly and I don’t think PSG feel they’ll miss him.

Says a lot though if he’s stroppy about his position whilst Marquinhos is doing whatever it takes to start.

He strikes me as a typical Arsenal player.

But if we got him, it would be an improvement on Herrera, Matic, McTominay and Fred in my opinion.

Has always looked sloppy in possesion whenever I’ve seen him play. In fact in a game against City he seemed to get disposed every single time he had the ball.

I don’t see the talent that some others do.
